Meet Our Hive Witnesses: Special Edition #7 Featuring THEBBHPROJECT
As we all know, witnesses are the backbone of the Hive platform—the unsung heroes who ensure everything runs smoothly. They operate critical nodes that keep the platform alive and thriving. Without witnesses, Hive wouldn’t exist, and without us, there would be no content to share and engage with, which is why we need to get familiar with who our witnesses are.
That's why I've created this special edition of "Meet Our Hive Witnesses."
This interview series aims to connect with our witnesses, giving you a closer look at the people who keep Hive running. We’ll dive into their work, motivations, and insights through a series of thoughtful questions.
It is the seventh edition of Meet Our Hive Witnesses Interview and before I continue with the introduction of the next witness that has honoured us to be interviewed, I'd like to say that, as a Hive user who want to see this platform continue to grow and flourish, we all have 30 votes to cast for any Hive witness of our choice and I will say this is the most important 30 votes you will ever cast on this platform for any witnesses that you deem it fit.
In this week episode, I am excited to bring to you a seasoned hive witness @thebbhproject, the witness who is behind the BBH token on Hive.

Welcome to my interview, it is a great honour to have you here on the show this week @thebbhproject
Thanks, below are the answers from thebbhproject
1 What do you believe is the single most important responsibility of a Hive witness?
@thebbhproject I believe the single most importand responsibility of a Hive witness is to ensure the witness is up and running 24/7 or as close to that as possible to ensure it is able to keep signing blocks to secure the blockchain.
2 Do you feel the witness election process is accessible and transparent? If not, how can it be improved?
@thebbhproject The witness election process is accessible and transparent. Only issue is new users sometimes don't even know what a witness is. With our interactions with people, it is a witnesses job, and everyone else to educate people on the importance or every person on Hive to know what a Witness is, educate themselves and vote.
3 How do you handle the competition among witnesses, and what differentiates you from other witnesses?
@thebbhproject I don't compete among witnesses. I do my own thing. What is different from me as a witness is that I believe in giving back to the community through my: The BBH Project. I channel earnings from my witness back to my supporters of my project.
4 Do you think Hive’s DPoS model needs modifications? If yes, what specific changes would you recommend?
@thebbhproject I believe Hive's DPos model is good the way it is. It is one of the reasons I joined the Hive blockchain.
5 What steps can be taken to ensure more transparency in decision-making, reward distribution, and governance?
@thebbhproject The steps for more transparency in decision-making is simple in my mind. It goes back to answer number 2. The average user needs to now how the system works.
6 Should witnesses have a formal mechanism for accountability? If yes, how would you envision such a system working?
@thebbhproject No I don't believe so, it is an election the same as your elect people in your government, to make the dessions for you. That is why it is so important for people to be educated.
7 Since you became a witness, what impact have you made on the community that other witnesses have not done?
@thebbhproject Not sure if I have made much of an impact yet. But like I said I am doing things differently than all other witnesses. Some of them build Dapps and such. I am more into giving back. That is the word I have to spread. The better my witness does, the better BBH Project members will do.
8 How do witnesses collaborate to solve community-wide issues, and what can be done to improve this process?
@thebbhproject I personally, only being a witness for aprox 6 moths have not seen much collaboration or any community-wide issues. So I really canot answer this.
9 Do you believe there should be a structured process for witness succession or rotation to encourage fresh ideas?
@thebbhproject No. It is all in the voting. I know things can seem lopsided as people with large stakes. But those people have earned where they are. Us newer witnesses need time, need to prove ourselves to get votes.
10 How do you handle criticism from the community, and how has it shaped your approach as a witness?
@thebbhproject I take all criticism and analysis it. I take the good out of it and try to apply it to what I am doing. It shaped my approaxh as a witness in the fact that I keep education people on what the number 1 thing a witness does, then on the secondary things that can be done.
11 How do you see the role of witnesses evolving as the Hive platform grows and changes?
@thebbhproject The role of a witnesses really does not need to change. The number one priority is to secure to blockchain. That being said, personally, as I get more educated with time. I am sure ideas will come to mind
12 Some users feel witnesses hold too much power. What are your thoughts on decentralizing witness influence further?
@thebbhproject This goes back to education of the masses. If you don't like what one witness is doing or their influance don't vote. I keep hearing people complain that they are all whales and we cannot compete. If people seen the amount of dolphins on Hive, and lower, there is pleanty of voting power for smaller staked witness to move up in the ranks. It is not a matter of decentralizing witness influence further. It is how bad the user base of Hive really wants to change. If major change was needed, and the userbase wanted it, then they would rally and change it.
13 Since you became a witness, what are some of the challenges you have faced and how did you get past those challenges.
@thebbhproject The major challenge I had as a new witness was learning the ropes of witness software. Being able to log in, trouble shoot, and keep my witness running. I studies, reached out and got help, educated myself.
14 As a witness or developer, how would you like to be remembered in the Hive community?
@thebbhproject I want to be remembered as someone that is 100 percent positive attitude all the time and that gives back. I believe in sharing the wealth of the blockchain.
It is so awesome finally having a chat with you @thebbhproject
Thanks so much for creating time for meet our Hive witness. Have a wonderful day 🤝🏻
