Alright since the topic of this week's Community Engagement Challenge is understandably the same for a third week in a row, namely "Conclave Arcana Presale Has Begun", it is only natural that I'll start again this short write-up by having a look at it. Then, we'll have a look at some new cards which I have not posted about yet as what's more exciting when a new set is launching than the actual cards that are part of the set. You can have a look at the cards I've already written about in these four posts - here, here, here and here. And if you've been hiding under a rock up until now, and you've missed all the details related to the presale and the set itself - check out this post of mine.

Okay, so the long awaited presale started 17 days ago and, in my opinion, it's been pretty successful so far. The total amount of packs purchased (of all 3 types) is 188,081 compared to 140,508 last week and the total amount of spend DEC/Credits has surpassed 1B and is approaching 1.5B! Currently sitting at 1,430,100,000 compare to 1,058,808,000 last week.

Below you can see the breakdown of the types of packs that have been sold so far - 119,583 Standard packs compared to 91,446 (out of 500,000) last week, 10,816 Legendary packs compared to 8,690 (out of 50,000) last week and 57,682 Alchemy Packs compared to 40,372 (out of 100,000) last week. People definitely seem to like the Alchemist packs a lot. That's probably because they have the highest chance for Black foils, even though I do think that you've got a higher chance of getting a BF Lengendary in Legendary packs simply because you get so many more Legendaries in them.

As for the leaderboard. The current top 6 players (and group buys) are basically divided in two groups. The first group is in the 50M-80M DEC range, and the 2nd one is in the 30M-50M DEC range. Cryptomancer has taken the lead by about 6M DEC over Bravetofu but I'm sure Bravetofu won't leave things like that. There are also some other people who are currently not in the top 6 and might suddenly appear up there (to the surprise of no one). I'm sure the last day of the presale will be very exciting to watch.

Speaking of the end of the presale, there are just 2 days and some change to go. I still have not converted my SPS as I watched it dip down below a cent during the last week, however, thanks to BTC going over 100K yesterday and some end of presale hype coming, SPS has managed to recover a bit and is currently sitting at 0.0113. I've managed to wait patiently for 17 days so might as well wait just a bit more and see what happens in the next 2. Hopefully the momentum will continue over the weekend. If BTC does not suffer a correction in the next 2 days and the market is green overall day over day, I'm sure SPS will hold at least the current level until the presale is over so my 450K SPS is getting burned at some point in the next 2 days. We'll see when.

You can also track the pack sales on splintercards.com. They've got a pretty neat visual going:

Now, let's have a look at a few of the cards I have not yet had a quick look at so far:
- Name: Desolation
- Element: Dragon
- Bloodline: Undead

Desolation is an 11-Mana Legendary Undead Dragon with a Ranged type of attack. His art reminds me of the undead dragons of Warcraft which I've always been a fan of - the likes of Syndragosa and Sapphiron, so it's really cool we're getting one in Praetoria as well. At level he has 4 Ranged Attack, 4 Speed, 4 Armor and 8 Health. The abilities he has at level 1 are Flying and Enrage. At level two he gains 1 Hp for a total of 9 and a third ability - Wingbreak. At level 3 he gains 1 more Ranged attack for a total of 5 ans well as his 4th ability - Piercing. Finally at level 4 (max) he has 5 Ranged Attack, 5 Speed, 4 Armor and 9 Health. He also gains his 5th and final ability - Spite. So Desolation seems to be a new bane of the Flying enemies with his 5 Ranged Attack, Wingbreak and Piercing. Of course his hefty cost of 11 mana makes him a unit which will mostly be played in high mana battles but that's normal for most Dragons. Apart from that it's interesting that he also receives an ability which currently only Heloise has - Spite.

- Name: Craniax the Quick
- Element: Death
- Bloodline: Human

Craniax the Quick is a 6-mana human Legendary Ranged attacker. This is another dude who reminds me of probably Warcraft's most famous mage - Medivh (the dude who opened the Dark Portal and let the Horde into Azeroth from Draenor (Outlands)), who has basically the same vibe as Craniax - all black and transforms into a raven. At level 1 Craniax has 4 Ranged Attack, 3 Speed, 2 Armor and 5 Health. He also has two abilities - both now at this level - Reckless

and Final Rest

. We've already seen Reckless on other new cards but this is the first one with Final Rest I've had a look at. I'm actually not sure who else has it. Final Rest seems to be a very good way to ruin your opponent's Bloodline Tribute strategy. At level 2 he gains an additional ability - Impede. At level 3 he gains 1 more HP for a total of 6 as well as his 4th ability - Backfire. Finally at level 4 he has 5 Ranged Attack, 3 Speed, 2 Armor and 6 HP. He also gains his 5th and final ability - Affliction. Craniax seems to be a pretty good card overall, especially with his Final Rest ability. You can literally shut down the whole enemy team if you choose to play him in the right battle.

- Name: Decrepit Windseer
- Element: Earth
- Bloodline: Elf

The Decrepit Windseer is a 4-mana Legendary Elf with a Ranged Attack. She has 1 Ranged Attack, 3 Speed, 0 ARmor and 5 HP at level 1 as well as one of the new abilities - Bloodline Tribute.

This is obviously beneficial for all other Elves in the game. At level 2 she gains her second ability - Thorns. At level 3 she gains 1 Ranged Attack for a total of 2 and 1 HP for a total of 6. She also gains two abilities - one new - Reveal

and Close Range. Finally at level 4 she has 2 Ranged Attack, 3 Speed, 0 Armor and 6 HP. She also gains her final ability - Echo. The Decrepit Windseer is definitely an interesting support unit. You probably wouldn't want her to die fast if you need her to use her Reveal but she also has to sacrifice herself so she can buff the rest of her elven brothers and sisters.

- Name: Hodlor
- Element: Neutral
- Bloodline: Human

Hodlor is a 6-mana Epic human with a dual attack Magic/Melee. At level 1 he starts with 1 Melee Attack, 1 Magic Attack, 3 Speed, 0 Armor and 3 HP. He also has Reach. That already makes him an obvious candidate for an off-tank. At level 2 he gains an additional Melee Attack for a total of 2. He also gains an extra HP for a total of 4. At level 3 he gains his 2nd ability - Dispel. At level 5 he gains one more attack point for a total of 3 Melee Attack and he also gains Phase. Finally at level 6 (max) he has 3 Melee Attack, 2 Magic Attack, 4 Speed, 0 Armor and 5 Health. While he might not do great as a main tank against melee/ranged attackers, he does a great job as an off-tank and could potentially hold his ground against Magic attacks due to Phase.

https://x.com/GhostlyBG/status/1919162718864510982

- Name: Oridum Graybrow
- Element: Fire
- Bloodline: Human

Oridum Graybrow is a 7-mana Legendary Human with Melee Attack. AT level 1 he's got 3 Melee Attack, 4 Speed, 6 Armor, and 4 HP. He also starts with the Thorns ability. At level 2 he gains an extra attack for a total of 4 as well as his second ability and a brand new one - Resurgence

. Resurgence is definitely a pretty interesting ability which does look like it will be impactful for at least a few new types of emerging strategies. At level 3 he gains one more HP point for a total of 5. He also gains 2 more abilities - Piercing and Magic Reflect. Finally at level 4 he has 4 Melee Attack, 4 Speed, 6 Amor and 5 HP. He also gains Spite as a 5th ability. So, here's one more new unit with Heloise's Spite ability. Oridum will definitely cause a lot of pain to his attackers with Resurgence + Piercing + Spite. A solid new addition to the Fire line-up.

https://x.com/GhostlyBG/status/1919192168687673573

- Name: Silverleaf Warlock
- Element: Death
- Bloodline: Elf

The Silverleaf Warlock is a 6-mana Common Elf Magic Attacker from the Death Element. At level 1 he has 2 Magic Attack, 3 Speed, 0 Armor and 4 HP. He does not start with any abilities. AT level 2 he gains his first ability - Swiftness. Next important level is 5 where he gains Backfire. Finally at level 10 he has 2 Magic Attack, 4 Speed, 0 Armor and 8 HP. He also gains Blind. The Silverleaf Warlock is a nice buffer/debuffer, who also has the potential to be a nice backline unit to guard his fellow units from Sneak attacks, especially if his speed gets buffed a bit more. That with conjunction with Bling can get Backfire really working overtime.

https://x.com/GhostlyBG/status/1919367791666229648

- Name: Canary Keeper
- Element: Fire
- Bloodline: Saurian

The Canary Keeper is a 2-mana Rare Saurian with a Ranged Attack from the Fire element. At level 1 he has 1 Ranged Attack, 1 Speed, 0 Armor and 2 HP, he also has the Dispel ability. At level 4 he gains an extra attack point for a total of 2. At level 6 he gains an additional attack point for a total of 3. Finally at level 8 he has 3 Ranged Attack, 4 Speed, 0 Armor and 5 HP. He also gains Return Fire. The Canary Keeper is a very nice Ranged attacker for the mana he costs. He will definitely be a welcome addition for the Little League ruleset as well as low-mana battles in general.

https://x.com/GhostlyBG/status/1919549222610665800

- Name: Lucky Longshot
- Element: Death
- Bloodline: Gnome

The Lucky Longshot is a 3-mana Legendary Gnome dual-attack (Magic/Ranged) unit from the Death Element. At level one she's got 1 Ranged Attack, 0 Magic Attack, 2 Speed, 0 Armor and 2 HP. She also has Weapons Training. At level 3 she gains her first point in the Magic Attack for a total of 1. Now she trains both attacks to adjacent non-attackers. At level 5 she gains her second ability - Weaken. Finally at level 6 she has 2 Ranged Attack, 1 Magic Attack, 2 Speed, 0 Armor and 5 HP. Lucky Longshot is a great weaponstrainer for her mana. A great addition to the Little League and low-mana battle line-ups.

https://x.com/GhostlyBG/status/1919560991060140335

- Name: Kavor Skarn
- Element: Dragon
- Bloodline: Drakoshan

Kavor Skarn is a 4-mana Rare Drakoshan Archon from the Dragon Element. He's got the signature ability for all rare CA Archons -

. Right now there aren't that many Drakoshan but I'm sure we'll get more in the future. As a whole he's a low-mana alternative to all the Dragon Archons which are leaving Modern - Quix and Sthispa. Also a must-have summoner for Little League.

https://x.com/GhostlyBG/status/1919563933762875649

- Name: Leolin Sifu
- Element: Life
- Bloodline: Feliform

Leolin Sifu is a 9-mana Epic Feliform Melee Attacker from the Life element. At level 1 her stats are 3 Melee Attack, 2 Speed, 6 Armor, 8 HP. Her first ability is True Strike. At level 2 she gains her second ability - Relentless Strike

. At level 3 She gains her 3rd ability - Swiftness. At level 5 she gains 1 point in the melee attack section for a total of 4. Finally at level 6 she has 4 Melee Attack, 3 Speed, 7 Armor and 10 HP. She also gains her final ability - Execute. Leolin Sifu's kit definitely screams - a true martial artist - however, she's definitely not a tank, so you will need to find ways or rulesets where you can utilize her kit effectively.

https://x.com/GhostlyBG/status/1919909575257374934

- Name: Bren Palesworn
- Element: Neutral
- Bloodline: Human

Bren Palesworn is a 6-mana Legendary Dual-Attack (Ranged/Melee) human from the Neutral element. He starts off with 1 Melee Attack, 2 Ranged Attack, 3 Speed, 0 Armor, 4 HP and 2 abilities - Sneak and Shapeshift

. Shapeshift is a great new ability. It's pretty obvious why. At level 2 he gains his 3rd ability - Weapons Training. Another dual-attack weapons trainer. Melee/Ranged Attack this time. At level 3 he gains one more Melee Attack for a total of 2 and 1 more HP for a total of 5. Finally at level 4 he has 3 Melee Attack, 2 Ranged Attack, 3 Speed, 0 Armor and 5 HP. He also gains his final ability - True Strike. Bren Palesworn is a very versatile unit. He's not only neutral but also belongs to all bloodlines which means that he can be buffed by every single Bloodline Archon in the game, and that's definitely very cool.

https://x.com/GhostlyBG/status/1920271593877443024

- Name: Cavewise Wayfinder
- Element: Fire
- Bloodline: Gnome

The Cavewise Wayfinder is a 6-mana Common Gnome with a Melee Attack from the Fire Element. He starts off with 2 Melee Attack, 3 Speed, 4 Armor and 7 HP. He also has 2 starting abilities - Reckless and Ambush. At level 3 he gets an additional attack point for a total of 3. Then at level 5 he gains a third ability - Void. At level 9 he gains one more point in the Melee section for a total of 4. Finally at level 10 he has 4 Melee Attack, 4 Speed, 4 Amor and 11 HP. He also gains his 4th and final ability - Enrage. The Cavewise Wayfinder could serve the role of a Tank against Magic-heavy compositions and could also be utilized as an off-tank whenever possible via a ruleset or an ability on the card in first position. We should also bear in mind that he gets a buff from the Gnome bloodline Archon.

https://x.com/GhostlyBG/status/1920284147265773590

- Name: Gonach Excavator
- Element: Death
- Bloodline: Rodentian

The Gonach Excavator is 3-mana Common Rodentian with a Melee Attack from the Death Element. At level 1 he has Sneak and Reckless, 2 Melee Attack, 2 Speed, 1 Armor and 2 HP. At level 3 he gains 1 more attack for a total of 3. finally at level 10 he has 4 Melee Attack, 4 Speed, 5 Armor and 6 HP. The abilities are the same two across all levels. The Gonach Excavator is a great 3-mana Melee attacker, specifically cause he also has Sneak. A great addition to the Little League and Low-mana battles. I do think that he will see a lot of play in the battlefields of Praetoria.

https://x.com/GhostlyBG/status/1920285834059612285

- Name: Archmage Yabanius
- Element: Water/Dragon
- Bloodline: Human

Last but most definitely not least, the new promo card which got dropped in Discord last night (detailed info just above my signature below) - Archmage Yabanius. That's right - that's YabaPMatt's official SPL card. He is a Legendary 6-mana Human Ranged Attacker - a dual element - Water/Dragon. At level 1 he has 2 Ranged Attack, 5 Speed, 0 Armor and 6 HP. He starts off with two abilities - Camouflage and Empower. Empower is a brand new ability which does the following - while not revealed, this unit and adjacent units gain +1 Power. This ability obviously directly plays into his kit as he has Camouflage as already mentioned. At level 2 he gains his 3rd ability - Shatter. At level 3 He gains his 4th ability - Stun. Finally at level 4 he has 3 Ranged Attack, 5 Speed, 0 Armor and 6 HP. HE also gains his final ability - Relentless Strike. Archmage Yabanius is a powerful ranged unit, specifically due to the fact that he buffs his adjacent allies but also has a pretty good kit with Shatter, Stun and Relentless Strike.
