Alright since the topic of this week's Community Engagement Challenge is the same as last week, namely "Conclave Arcana Presale Has Begun", it is only natural that I'll start again this short write-up by having a look at it. Then, we'll have a look at some new cards which I have not posted about yet as what's more exciting when a new set is launching than the actual cards that are part of the set. You can have a look at the cards I've already written about in these three posts - here, here and here. And if you've been hiding under a rock up until now, and you've missed all the details related to the presale and the set itself - check out this post of mine.

Okay, so the long awaited presale started last Tuesday and, in my opinion, it's been pretty successful so far. The total amount of packs purchased (of all 3 types) is 140,508 (as of the time of writing) and the total amount of spend DEC/Credits has surpassed 1B! Currently sitting at 1,058,808,000.

Below you can see the breakdown of the types of packs that have been sold so far - 91,446 Standard packs (out of 500,000), 8,690 Legendary packs (out of 50,000) and 40,372 Alchemy packs (out of 100,000), People definitely seem to like the Alchemist packs a lot. That's probably because they have the highest chance for Black foils, even though I do think that you've got a higher chance of getting a BF Lengendary in Legendary packs simply because you get so many more Legendaries in them.

As for the leaderboard. The current top 6 players (and group buys) are basically divided in two groups. The first group is in the 50M-60M DEC range, and the 2nd one is in the 20M-30M DEC range. This race is definitely not over yet and I expect some action when the end of the presale gets closer.

Speaking of the end of the presale, there are 9 days to go so there's definitely still time. That's enough time for me to buy in as well. I'm still of the mind of burning 415K SPS but since it dropped pretty fast from 0.0130+ to 0.010, and I did buy 33% of it at 0.0115. I kinda don't feel like burning at a loss even a part of it right now, so I'll just wait and see if we have a bit of a minor presale end pump. I do want to get at least 4.4M DEC worth of packs. At least I don't think there is any threat of any of the packs being bought out before I am able to react. The Alchemy packs are free to sell out though, I'm only interested in Legendary and Standard packs.

You can also track the pack sales on splintercards.com. They've got a pretty neat visual going:

Now, let's have a look at a few of the recently revealed cards:
- Name: Runic Skychonk
- Element: Water
- Bloodline: Ulund

The Runic Skychonk is a 5-mana Ulund Rare Magic Attacker. At level 1 he starts off with 1 Magic Attack, 2 Speed, 2 Armor and 4 HP. He actually starts off with 2 abilities - Reckless and Armored Strike. Reckless is a new Conclave Arcana ability -

. The next important level for him is level 5. At level 5 he gets his 3rd ability - Protect. Protect synergizes very well with his Armored Strike ability. Finally at level 8 (max) he has 3 Magic Damage, 2 Speed, 5 Armor and 5 Health. He is an interesting caster for 5 mana, who has potential to trigger some of the new combos thanks to his Reckless ability. Also bear in mind that he is an Ulund and we already know that we're getting an Ulund bloodline Archon with the launch of the set.

- Name: Virid Venumancer
- Element: Earth
- Bloodline: Orc

The Virid Venomancer is a 5-mana Magic Attack Orc Common Unit. At level 1 she starts off with 2 Magic Attack, 2 Speed, 1 Armor and 2 HP. She has no abilities at level 1. She gains her first ability at level 3 - Shield Ward. At level 5 she gains her second ability - Poison. Finally her stats at level 10 (max) are 2 Magic Attack, 3 Speed, 1 Armor and 7 Health. She also gains her 3rd and final ability - Impede. The Virid Venomancer is an interesting unit. She's both a Buffer and a de-Buffer. She is also an Orc so she has synergy with the upcoming Rare Orc Bloodline Archon. .

- Name: Sylvaran Sentinel
- Element: Earth
- Bloodline: Treefolk

The Sylvaran Sentinel is a 6-mana Epic Earth unit. He's a Treefolk. At level 1 he has 2 Rabged Attack, 4 Speed, 0 Armor and 5 HP. He starts off with Camouflage at level 1. At level 2 he gains an additional Ranged Attack point for a total of 3. At level 3 he gains his second ability - Slow. At level 4 his health jumps from 5 straight to 7. At level 5 he gains an additional Ranged Attack for a total of 4. Finally at level 6 he has 4 Ranged Attack, 4 Speed, 0 Armor and 7 Health. He also gains his final ability - Resurrect. Any unit with Resurrect is generally almost auto-included in setups when possible so I think the Sylvaran Sentinel will be played a lot. Not to mention that Camo combined with Slow is also a good combo. He will most certainly survive until the end of most battles. Of course, he is incapable of attacking from the tanking spot so the plan will always be for the battle to be over before that.

- Name: Happy Quokka
- Element: Life
- Bloodline: Mundane Beast

The Happy Quokka is a 4-mana Rare Mundane Beast with a Melee Attack. At level 1 he has 2 Melee Attack, 1 Speed, 0 Armor and 3 Health. He also has Opportunity at this level. At level 4 he gains his second ability - Weapons Training. At level 6 he gains one more point in the Melee section for a total of 3. At level 7 he gains his third and final ability - Oppress. Finally at level 8 (max) he has 4 Melee Attack, 3 Speed, 0 Armor and 7 Health. I think the Happy Quokka is pretty decent for 4 mana, specifically due to the fact that he is playable in Little League. I am not sure about his Melee Weapon's training and its usefulness in general but who knows, it might be proven to be beneficial in some scenarios.

- Name: Thragha
- Element: Death
- Bloodline: Orc

Thragha is 4-mana Rare Orc with Melee Attack. At level 1 she starts off with 1 Melee Attack, 2 Speed, 0 Armor, 5 Health. She starts off with 2 abilities at level 1 - Void and Painforge. Painforge is one of the new abilities which is being introduced to the game with the new Conclave Arcana set. Painforge - is the ability which is triggered by Reckless (which we discussed previously)

Therefore this is one of the interesting new synergies which CA brings to the table. At level 2 she gains an additional Melee Attack for a total of 2. Next at level 4 she gains her 3rd ability - Flank. At level 6 she gains an additional point in the attack department for a total of 3. Finally at level 8 she has 3 Attack, 2 Speed, 0 Armor and 9 Health. She also gains her 4th ability (and that's a lot for a rare) - Life Leech. So Thragha is definitely a candidate for a tank, specifically when you expect the enemy would go heavy on magic attackers. Her flank abilities allows for the placement of a strong off-tank. Painforge can also come in handy depending on the situation. She's also an Orc so the bloodline synergy is already there and coming with the release of the set.

- Name: Fenmoor Platypus
- Element: Earty
- Bloodline: Mundane Beast

The Fenmoor Playpus is a 3-mana Rare Mundane Beast Melee attacker. At level 1 it has 2 Melee Attack, 1 Speed, 1 Armor and 1 Health. It starts off with Reach. At level 4 it gains its second ability - Poison. At level 5 its Melee Attack is increased by 1 for a total of 3. Finally at level 8 (max) it has 3 Melee Attack, 4 Speed, 1 Armor and 5 Health. It also gains Rust as its final ability. The Fenmoor Platypus actually brings a lot to the table for 3 mana. It has a nice kit of a an off-tank and is definitely a great candidate for low-mana and Little League battles.

Over and Out,

Referral

It feels so good to see our favorite game doing so well in CA presale. Selling 1 billion DEC worth of packs in pre-sale while there is still a week left is a record already. I also swapped some SPS for DEC during the recent pump to purchase packs and right now waiting to see if SPS price boosts again. Liked the new cards you shared and can't wait to get my hands on them!
