It's been a very exciting week - starting from the launch of the Conclave Arcana general sale, which also allowed for everyone who participated in the presale to open their packs, through the rotation of the Chaos Legion set from Modern to Wild, to the Town Hall we had on Thursday and the announcement of the newest promo card - Yaba's Pickle. I will focus in this post on what I got from the presale packs I bought and also what I've done to progress my collection in the past few days.
So, basically 30 minutes before the end of the presale I finally parted ways with 456,000 of my precious SPS. That got me to about 5,930,000 DEC. Then I had to supplement with a bit of credits so I can finish the presale with 6,000,000 DEC spent on packs. The packs I got were 200 Legendary packs and 100 Alchemy packs. I then immediately bought 1,500 midnight potions, while they were still at $0.08 per potion because I figured they would get more expensive by Tuesday and I really wanted to open my packs ASAP.

Tuesday came and initially it was basically impossible to open the packs cause of the lag, so I had to wait a bit, meanwhile I checked my luck in the raffle as you can see in the screenshot above. Unfortunately I did not get anything from it, which was my expectation in general, so no surprise there. I also finished 79th on the LB of the presale so I got a title and a card for that:

The Enigma is a pretty cool sounding title, and as a person who has hundreds of titles in World of Warcraft, I do appreciate cool titles. The rarer they are, the better.

The other screen I checked before opening my packs was the promo cards one:

And what do you know. I actually got luck and got a GF Gramel instead of 1 of the 15 RFs I had guaranteed. I also got 1 extra GF Arcane Skinwalker. I was guaranteed 6 of the 7 I actually got. So overall that was better than the usual amount of luck I have.

Now of the pack opening itself. I opened my Legendary packs first. My hope was I could pull a BFL. Well... that did not happen but I did pull a lot of GFLs as well as a BFE and I think 2 BFCs. The Alchemy packs also had a couple of GFLs in them as well as 2 BFCs and one BFR. Here are the beauties I got:

image.png

A total of 17 GFLs. I combined the 4 copies of Desolation and he's now maxed. I'm definitely keeping him for play. I've already sold Sheng Xiao. The rest I am keeping for now because I don't really want to just dump them on the market plus the Conflicts will start sooner rather than later, so I might as well just put them on wagons and reap the benefits of their increased card power.

As for the other cards:

Here they are in their full Blackfoil glory. I am keeping all of them because they are maxed cards out of the box and they also bring a lot of points when staked for conflicts. Specifically the BFE has a ton of power so I don't see any reason to part with it. The Mad Kaboomist did find a new home after JeffOpensCards commented under my post on X, and after waiting for 3 days for the card to be unlocked (that's right - I'm always inta-locking all cards I'm not planning to sell), we made a swap. I sent him my Kaboomist and got this beauty in return:

At the time of the trade the Kaboomist was actually $20 more expensive on the market but you have to be blind not to see which the better card of the two is. :D Jeff had 5 of them, so he'll do fine with 4, I bet, and it will be very helpful for my battle earning for sure since having BFs of the most often used (so called meta) cards is definitely a huge plus.

Now these were the most interesting and exclusive cards I got, however, I did get a bunch of other GFs as well as a lot of legendary RFs. Some of them I traded with Bjangles so I can finish leveling the Legendaries I could not level with the 200 Legendary packs I opened. Yeah, you are supposed to level your Legendaries at this point with less than that - about 160, I belive. But I got a lot of copies of some of them - 21 Desolations, 25 Oridum Graybrows, so yeah.. you can't really count on probabilities to always go your way. Anyhow, I sould a fair bit of them, apart from cards I feel are just being dumped right now, and not really considered in terms of their meta potential. That helped my accumulate about 700K DEC. And what I did with that... well normally I would go and buy singles off the market, however, in this case I decided to do something else. I bought a bunch of Starter packs. Here are my statistics for them:

As you can see from the screenshot above - I've bought 697 Starter Packs so far (more definitely to come).
Out of those packs I got the following:

  • 2,461 Common Cards worth $200.81 at the time I did the calculations
  • 217 Rare Archon cards worth $342.92 at the time I did the calculations
  • 733 other Rare cards worth $231.97 at the time I did the calculations

So, as you can see from the above - I paid 697,000 DEC (or $697 at peg) for the packs and got value from the in the form of Commons/Rares for the amount of $775.22. Essentially, since I need 95% of the cards I get from Starter packs (I don't need those I have a BF for), it is a lot better for me to just go and buy the packs for now. Of course, there will come a time when I've maxed some, and the rest are elusive. That will be the point when going to the market and buying singles will come into play. Or... if the prices of rare summoners dip below $1 which does not seem likely for now.

Here's the state of my Commons and Rares at the time of writing:

image.png

The average level of the Commons right now is level 6. There are a couple of level 7s, and of course, 4 BFs which are maxed.

image.png

The Rares are a mix of level 4s and 5s with 1 BF rare at max level.

Well, this is it for now.

Over and Out,
