Splinterlands: Campaign Mode Is Here!
Another major milestone in the evolution of Splinterlands has been reached!
The Campaign Mode's Book 1 is currently oriented toward new players and offering them the basics in the game and... some assets as they progress.

Not only is the Campaign Mode much better than a tutorial, it also comes with its own set (the Foundation set), which was specially designed for learning purposes, less powerful than cards from normal sets, but can be purchased at any time without ever running out.
Anyone can go through the Campaign Mode, even experienced players. Later on, the Campaign Mode can and likely will be extended to include challenges for experienced players too.

At every chapter you complete for the first time, you can claim some rewards (more rewards at higher chapters):

The rewards are currently soulbound and cannot be combined either. In the future, the Foundation cards will be tradable and, evidently, players will be able to combine them.
Then, you can go to the next chapter, or pick a chapter of your choice:

The campaign chapters so far seem well-explained and I'd say easy to understand by a beginner. There is no informational overload, which is good. Maybe beginners will have to retry a few of the later chapters to complete them, I don't know. But that may be good for them, if it doesn't seem too easy. I didn't have to retry any of them, but I'm not a beginner.
A few times I thought it would have been nice if there was a back button on the conversation too, but perhaps that would have complicated things quite a bit, to have a bidirectional flow instead of a unidirectional one.
The art was really good, and there were quite a few screens that needed the artists touch, so it was an art-intensive project.
I imagine in the Novice league, once they leave the Campaign Mode, beginners will likely meet many players of the same category, so they'll have some time to adjust to the game, see where they stand compared to other newbies, but once they hit the Bronze league where likely they'll meet much more powerful cards, hopefully the impact won't be too high.
Either way, I want to see the impact this will have on onboarding and retention for Splinterlands. Something relatively similar is needed for the rest of Hive, and looks like it's being worked on right now.

I did it, it took like 10 minutes, at least you earn cards and you can play in modern even without CA
Yep, quite easy for an experience player. Not sure what success you'd have in modern with these cards, but good luck! They are more of a starter set, from where to build up. Maybe the summoners could be useful, but they are much more expensive on mana than the ones from regular sets.
I'm remaining in bronze 1 with that cards so far
Really? That's cool!
Yep, stable at bronze 1,high bronze 2,a lot of people with foundation cards there

A few of today battles
That's nice! Probably will work until CA decks will get more common. Unless all CA players are in higher leagues already...

Decentralization isn’t just a feature—it’s a fight. Let’s model fairness, rally allies, and pressure Hive to live up to its ideals.

Upvoted 👌 (Mana: 46/56) Liquid rewards.
It's definitely a nice way to welcome new players. And it will be challenging for experienced players too in the future, from what I heard - that they are planning to expand it with sections for them.
Whenever something new like this comes to the game, people have been waiting for it for a long time because when something new comes, the game starts to get more interesting.
It looks nice, and I think having some soulbound rewards are great too. It gives people some cards to use without spending cash.
They will be tradable after a while. Not sure exactly what they'll have to do to make them tradable, but there is this possibility. Plus, these Foundation packs (when they'll put them for sale) will be forever available and the cards always playable in Modern, as I understand this (but maybe I'm wrong on the last part).
