SPK + Ragnarok snapshots happened or are they another 24 hours away??

Yesterday I wrote a post in preparation for the SPK + Ragnarok snapshots that should have happened today January 6th.

I didn't write in the post the time (good that I didn't, lol), but it was known: January 6th, 0:00 PST (8:00 AM GMT).

This morning I woke up anxious about the snapshots, obviously. I did other things until the time came, and then waited for some sign that the snapshots were taken.

Since no sign came, I started digging and found this count down on the SPK Network website:

I assume that count down was there all along and that the snapshots weren't pushed back by 24 hours, so I guess we should have double check it with the date and time that was known publicly.

That's cool, I get to be excited for the snapshots tomorrow as well, lol.

HIVE took a dive over night - probably related to general market movements - so that's fine by me: another accumulation day.

By the way, as I was looking around to see what happened, I found a post written by @uyobong and published later than mine yesterday, where he has more details than I had.

As I read his post I remembered that indeed the LARYNX claimdrop is at a 1:1 ratio with your Hive holdings. I suppose information about Ragnarok overwhelmed me lately.

What I didn't know (and I don't know where he got this info yet) is that the claimdrop of NFTs for Ragnarok will be at the ratio of 1:10 with Hive holdings. So 1 NFT for every 10 Hive you hold in your account. If that's the ratio, they decided for a very low limit, which will spread the NFTs to more accounts.

So we're back to counting down... Tomorrow is a new day! :)

I was unsure myself if it was the beginning of 6th or the end of 6th. It was at the end of 6th after all.

I have read that Ragnarok will have one NFT dropped for HIVE in the range of 10 to 170. I believe a low level is much better, as it should reached more people. From what I got from the game description, you will need some dozens NFT for a game...

Yep, that's what I knew also and what I wrote in the post yesterday. But I didn't see anything about a decision being made about the ratio. Maybe @uyobong picked up something we didn't.

I agree. More NFTs are better. Especially since NFTs don't mean only gods, but also spells, probably armor too. If we think pawns have 22 spell options and kings 35, that's a lot of potential spells one needs, besides the regular "chess" pieces.

Well it's either the timer or the date that's wrong.

Either way it's a bit of a clanger.

It's kind of like getting your thesis back from the printer and realising there's a typo on the front page.

It's most likely the date. If I were to assume someone thought midnight means same day, but it is the next.

Wow, and here I was thinking that it probably already happened. It's 4pm EST and I looked at the website as you said and it's still 11 hrs to go which means that it won't happen til 3am EST and that's on** Jan 7th ** not Jan 6th, but whatever the date it's cool with me.

Yep, there was an announcement on both @spknetwork and @ragnarok.game accounts a little while ago saying the count down on SPK Network website is the one to follow. Indeed that would place the snapshot on Jan 7th (Jan 6th at midnight, PST).
