Rebellion Soulbound Reward Set: Not Losing Sight of this Objective
We are one day before the end of the ranked play season at Splinterlands, and it's time to see my progress on maxing out my Rebellion soulbound reward cards. I do it one day earlier since tomorrow I have scheduled my Hive goals post.
Hurray! Despite being one day earlier, after two seasons of not being able to, I had enough Glint to buy all Epic + Rare + Common draws this season! It most likely matters that I made some changes to how I played Wild and Survival this season compared to the previous one. I will do something similar next season, to see if that influenced my results, particularly when it comes to how many Glint I earned.
So, let's see what I did with the Glint this season.
I had no Glint to purchase more legendary draws this time around, but I was able to buy all 25 epic draws, 100 rare draws, and 400 common draws . I still have 2,427 Glint right now, with no plans to play any more ranked games to the end of the season (something that I'll tweak better next season).
That makes it easy to see how much Glint I earned this season (including the season rewards from last season). That makes it a total of 322,500 Glint used for draw purchases this season (+2,427 remaining in my stash for a total of 324,927). Last season I had a total of 314,100 Glint in purchases. That means I spent 8,400 more Glint this season.
Let's keep a table too, going forward:
Season since New SB Set | Glint Used to Purchase Draws | Difference |
---|---|---|
Season 5 | 363,200 | |
Season 6 | 344,400 | -18,800 Glint |
Season 7 | 352,700 | +8,300 Glint |
Season 8 | 341,850 | -10,850 Glint |
Season 9 | 328,100 | -13,750 Glint |
Season 10 | 427,500 | +99,400 Glint |
Season 11 | 462,500 | +35,000 Glint |
Season 12 | 322,500 | -140,000 Glint |
Season 13 | 305,550 | -16,950 Glint |
Season 14 | 314,100 | +8,550 Glint |
Season 15 (current) | 322,500 | +8,400 Glint |
Last 3 seasons' average | 314,050 |
Let's see what my current situation of the Rebellion SB set completion progress is so far:
Season since New SB Set | Commons % | Rares % | Epics % | Legendaries % |
---|---|---|---|---|
Season 1 | 1 / 0 | 2 / 0 | 8 / 0 | 9 / 0 |
Season 2 | 2 / 1 | 2 / 0 | 9 / 0 | 17 / 0 |
Season 3 | 3 / 1 | 2 / 0 | 10 / 0 | 23 / 0 |
Season 4 | 5 / 2 | 3 / 1 | 12 / 0 | 27 / 0 |
Season 5 | 7 / 2 | 4 / 2 | 13 / 0 | 36 / 0 |
Season 6 | 8 / 3 | 5 / 2 | 15 / 0 | 42 / 0 |
Season 7 | 9 / 3 | 6 / 2 | 15 / 0 | 51 / 0 |
Season 8 | 10 / 3 | 7 / 2 | 17 / 0 | 58 / 0 |
Season 9 | 10 / 3 | 7 / 2 | 24 / 1 | 61 / 0 |
Season 10 | 19 / 5 | 14 / 4 | 31 / 4 | 63 / 0 |
Season 11 | 28 / 6 | 22 / 4 | 39 / 6 | 65 / 0 |
Season 12 | 37 / 8 | 29 / 5 | 47 / 9 | 65 / 0 |
Season 13 | 44 / 9 | 37 / 5 | 54 / 11 | 67 / 0 |
Season 14 | 52 / 11 | 45 / 5 | 62 / 11 | 67 / 0 |
Season 15 (current) | 61 / 13 | 53 / 5 | 70 / 13 | 67 / 0 |
That's +0% to the progress of legendary cards, +8% progress to epic cards (and +2% to epic GF), +8% progress to rare cards (and +0% to the rare GF), and 9% progress to the common cards (and +2% to the common GF).
The strategy is still epic first, rare second, common third, legendary forth, until I max out a card from the first 3 rarities. Not enough Glint for additional progress on Legendary cards this season.
Here are the "before and after" snapshots for the Rebellion SB epic cards, which are my current main focus. "Before" first:
3 at level 5, 3 at level 4, 1 at level 3
And now the current levels of the epic cards...
My Rebellion SB epic cards: 5 at level 5, 1 at level 4, 1 at level 3.
This season, 2 (regular) epic card have been upgraded to level 5.
Perhaps a more relevant metric is the amount of Glint already spent compared to the total amount needed to max out the SB set (only regulars).
Here' s my situation:
8,790,000 Glint
Glint value of the cards collected so far (ignore GF and doubles):
5,805,850 Glint
Progress percentage:
66.05%
Estimated^ time to max out the RF cards (or GF, where possible):
9 more seasons (4.5 months, i.e. mid-July)
^) estimation now includes tier advancement rewards (average last 3 seasons); estimation doesn't account for Glint wasted on pulling doubles of maxed out cards or GF instead of RF (where GF card level isn't high enough)
Last season's Glint value of cards collected: 5,453,800.
Difference: 352,050 Glint-worth of cards this season, including tier advancement rewards.
Season since New SB Set | Glint-Worth of Cards (including Tier Advancement Rewards) | Difference |
---|---|---|
Season 7 | 414,550 | - |
Season 8 | 368,400 | -46,150 Glint |
Season 9 | 328,850 | -39,550 Glint |
Season 10 | 388,350 | +59,700 Glint |
Season 11 | 446,250 | +57,900 Glint |
Season 12 | 330,600 | -115,650 Glint |
Season 13 | 407,400 | +76,800 Glint |
Season 14 | 344,400 | -63,000 Glint |
Season 15(current) | 352,050 | +7,650 Glint |
Last 3 seasons' average | 367,950 |

Maxing out those epics is paying off. The +8% progress jump is awesome and keeping legendaries on hold for now seems like the right call. Smart Glint management all around man
Basically, I switched to the combination epics + rare + common because I have 1 legendary card maxed out, and I don't have any of the cards of other rarities maxed out yet. That eliminates, for now, the possibility to get a double for a maxed out card.
Awesome moves. Keeping your deck balanced while avoiding wasted rewards. It'll definitely pay off in the long run very well man
i wouldnt concentrate on olivia, when she has mimic it's good enough
I focus on all of them. Of course, if I max out the rest of the epics and Olivia is left way behind, I'll think about it then.
Those epics are looking quite nice, but it makes me wonder if you should max them first. Are you planning to max all of them right away, or get a few to max then focus on other rarities?
Once I max 1 epic or 1 rare or 1 common, I will add slowly get back legendary cards into the mix. The idea is to minimize the potential losses due to double rewards for maxed out cards. Eventually, I won't be able to avoid it, but in case I won't be able to complete the set, then I would have wasted as little of Glint as possible.

It makes sense to max out the epic first. I earn way lesser glints, so your strategy will not be able to work for me, so that's why I focused on upgrading all of them at a go while avoiding Legendaries altogether.
Again, the epic sets are even looking better than last two weeks.
They should, 25 BCX added every two weeks add up. That's the minimum, if I don't pull any from the tier advancement chests.
I managed to add 6 BCX, not much but it adds up. 25 BCX every 2 weeks is wild, you're close to maxing them out than later.
And yet, others already maxed out the entire set and now they are bored or doing doubles, for the survival mode. We all need to adjust to what's possible with our pace.
