Rebellion Soulbound Reward Set: Another Season Went By
I know the focus is now on Conclave Arcana for good reason, but I'll keep my regular progress update for the Rebellion soulbound set, which continues its course, since Glint has nothing to do with DEC, which is required for Conclave Arcana.
We are almost one day before the end of the ranked play season at Splinterlands, and it's time to see my progress on maxing out my Rebellion soulbound reward cards. I do it one day earlier since tomorrow I have scheduled my Hive goals post.
Looks like I celebrated too early last season that I had enough Glint to buy all Epic + Rare + Common draws. That didn't repeat this season again. I did one thing differently which may have caused this. In fact, I am pretty sure it caused this, so I'll try to avoid it next season.
On the other hand, I was luckier than usually on my tier advancement pulls for Champion 3, with 2 legendary cards, 3 epics, and a few common GF. On the other side, the legendaries came for a card I already had maxed out, so that wasn't much help. Gold foils didn't help either, since I build my regular set. But they will eventually be burned for Glint or not, if I need them in Survival or if I have a chance to max them out.
So, let's see what I did with the Glint this season.
I had no Glint to purchase more legendary draws this time around, but I was able to buy all 25 epic draws, all 100 rare draws, and 218 common draws. I have no Glint remaining either.
That makes it easy to see how much Glint I earned this season (including the season rewards from last season). That makes it a total of 295,200 Glint used for draw purchases this season (+0 remaining in my stash for a total of 295,200). Last season I had a total of 322,500 Glint in purchases. That means I spent 27,300 less Glint this season.
Let's keep a table too, going forward:
Season since New SB Set | Glint Used to Purchase Draws | Difference |
---|---|---|
Season 5 | 363,200 | |
Season 6 | 344,400 | -18,800 Glint |
Season 7 | 352,700 | +8,300 Glint |
Season 8 | 341,850 | -10,850 Glint |
Season 9 | 328,100 | -13,750 Glint |
Season 10 | 427,500 | +99,400 Glint |
Season 11 | 462,500 | +35,000 Glint |
Season 12 | 322,500 | -140,000 Glint |
Season 13 | 305,550 | -16,950 Glint |
Season 14 | 314,100 | +8,550 Glint |
Season 15 | 322,500 | +8,400 Glint |
Season 16 (current) | 295,200 | -27,300 Glint |
Last 3 seasons' average | 310,600 |
Let's see what my current situation of the Rebellion SB set completion progress is so far:
Season since New SB Set | Commons % | Rares % | Epics % | Legendaries % |
---|---|---|---|---|
Season 1 | 1 / 0 | 2 / 0 | 8 / 0 | 9 / 0 |
Season 2 | 2 / 1 | 2 / 0 | 9 / 0 | 17 / 0 |
Season 3 | 3 / 1 | 2 / 0 | 10 / 0 | 23 / 0 |
Season 4 | 5 / 2 | 3 / 1 | 12 / 0 | 27 / 0 |
Season 5 | 7 / 2 | 4 / 2 | 13 / 0 | 36 / 0 |
Season 6 | 8 / 3 | 5 / 2 | 15 / 0 | 42 / 0 |
Season 7 | 9 / 3 | 6 / 2 | 15 / 0 | 51 / 0 |
Season 8 | 10 / 3 | 7 / 2 | 17 / 0 | 58 / 0 |
Season 9 | 10 / 3 | 7 / 2 | 24 / 1 | 61 / 0 |
Season 10 | 19 / 5 | 14 / 4 | 31 / 4 | 63 / 0 |
Season 11 | 28 / 6 | 22 / 4 | 39 / 6 | 65 / 0 |
Season 12 | 37 / 8 | 29 / 5 | 47 / 9 | 65 / 0 |
Season 13 | 44 / 9 | 37 / 5 | 54 / 11 | 67 / 0 |
Season 14 | 52 / 11 | 45 / 5 | 62 / 11 | 67 / 0 |
Season 15 | 61 / 13 | 53 / 5 | 70 / 13 | 67 / 0 |
Season 16 (current) | 66 / 14 | 61 / 6 | 79 / 14 | 67 / 0 |
That's +0% to the progress of legendary cards (despite pulling 2 legendary cards in the chests, but they were doubles), +9% progress to epic cards (and +1% to epic GF), +8% progress to rare cards (and +1% to the rare GF), and only 5% progress to the common cards (and +1% to the common GF).
I reached my first maxed epic card too, besides 2 maxed legendary cards. No maxed rare and common cards yet, but I have 2 rare cards at level 7 and 1 common card at level 9, so they are getting closer too...
Hard to change the strategy from epic 1st, rare 2nd, common 3rd, legendary 4th, right now, even if I now have a maxed epic card and the pretty high risk of getting a double there. I couldn't start with legendaries, since I have 2 maxed cards for that rarity, so the risk is still higher there to pull a double. I could consider starting with rare and common first, and continuing with epic next, since I don't have any doubles there yet, but I do normally receive more common and rare cards from tier advancement chests, so I think I'll keep the same strategy for now. If I get 2 maxed epic cards however, I'll have to change something.
So, the strategy still remains epic first, rare second, common third, legendary forth, until I max out another epic or 2 common or 2 rare cards.
Here are the "before and after" snapshots for the Rebellion SB epic cards, which are my current main focus. "Before" first:
5 at level 5, 1 at level 4, 1 at level 3
And now the current levels of the epic cards...
My Rebellion SB epic cards: 1 at level 6 (max level), 5 at level 5, 1 at level 4.
This season, 1 (regular) epic card has been upgraded to max level, 1 card has been upgraded to level 5, and 1 card has been upgraded to level 4. Pretty nice level jumps!
Perhaps a more relevant metric is the amount of Glint already spent compared to the total amount needed to max out the SB set (only regulars).
Here' s my situation:
8,790,000 Glint
Glint value of the cards collected so far (ignore GF and doubles):
6,129,100 Glint
Progress percentage:
69.73%
Estimated^ time to max out the RF cards (or GF, where possible):
8 more seasons (4 months, i.e. mid-August)
^) estimation now includes tier advancement rewards (average last 3 seasons); estimation doesn't account for Glint wasted on pulling doubles of maxed out cards or GF instead of RF (where GF card level isn't high enough)
Last season's Glint value of cards collected: 5,805,850.
Difference: 323,250 Glint-worth of cards this season, including tier advancement rewards.
Season since New SB Set | Glint-Worth of Cards (including Tier Advancement Rewards) | Difference |
---|---|---|
Season 7 | 414,550 | - |
Season 8 | 368,400 | -46,150 Glint |
Season 9 | 328,850 | -39,550 Glint |
Season 10 | 388,350 | +59,700 Glint |
Season 11 | 446,250 | +57,900 Glint |
Season 12 | 330,600 | -115,650 Glint |
Season 13 | 407,400 | +76,800 Glint |
Season 14 | 344,400 | -63,000 Glint |
Season 15 | 352,050 | +7,650 Glint |
Season 16(current) | 323,250 | -28,800 Glint |
Last 3 seasons' average | 339,900 |

You are making good progress on those cards. It sucks to get duplicates, but sometimes we can't avoid it.
The closer I'll get to completing the set, the more duplicates I'll get, unfortunately.
"Wow, you're really tracking your progress closely! Am impressed to see how much thought you've put into your strategy for maxing out the Rebellion soulbound set. Your tables and calculations are super helpful in understanding your progress. You're making good progress, and your estimated time to completion seems reasonable." Weldone 💪
They help me track the progress for sure, and to see what adjustments I need to make.
The strategy is still solid even though you celebrated too soon. I still think that's is time, unless maybe team decides to stop the rebellion reward cards in a month or so.
Timeline is filled with conclave bull post. The abilities that comes these cards makes it feel like the abilities on our reward cards is child's play lol.
Anyway, congratulations on bringing your cards closer to max level.
Thanks. I still think the soulbound set should have at least a few month of time before being switched. And yes, CA changes the rules of the gameplay. Hard to adapt to how the gameplay evolved, but we'll have to.
