My Maxed Rebellion SB Set Won't Be So... Maxed
Not quite at the end of the Ranked season at Splinterlands, but it's time to see my progress on maxing out my Rebellion soulbound reward cards. Time is running out too, since the next soulbound reward set has been announced. I'll keep a track of the deadline, even if it might be a little longer than that (Matt said 3-4 months): 3 months minus ~2 week: 16 or 30 Sep?
The remaining time is tight, and even without burning doubles or GFs, I will not have all cards maxed from this set. But that will be close.
So, let's see what I did with the Glint this season.
I purchased 8 legendary draws (+2 pulled in chests), 1 epic draw (and stopped!), all rare draws, and 175 common draws. I have no Glint left. There are still almost 23 hours left until the end of the season at the time of writing, but I'm writing the update now because tomorrow I have another post scheduled.
It's no longer easy to see how much Glint I earn every season, since I started to burn cards, which affects the total. I spent 388,750 Glint this season, however.
Let's keep a table too, going forward:
Season since New SB Set | Glint Used to Purchase Draws | Difference |
---|---|---|
Season 15 | 322,500 | +8,400 Glint |
Season 16 | 295,200 | -27,300 Glint |
Season 17 | 322,500 | +27,300 Glint |
Season 18 | 322,500 | +0 Glint |
Season 19 | 367,850 | +45,350 Glint |
Season 20 | 383,800 | +15,950 Glint |
Season 21 | 358,200 | -25,950 Glint |
Season 22 (current) | 388,750 | +30,550 Glint |
Last 3 seasons' average | 376,917 |
Let's see what my current situation of the Rebellion SB set completion progress is so far:
Season since New SB Set | Commons % | Rares % | Epics % | Legendaries % |
---|---|---|---|---|
Season 15 | 61 / 13 | 53 / 5 | 70 / 13 | 67 / 0 |
Season 16 | 66 / 14 | 61 / 6 | 79 / 14 | 67 / 0 |
Season 17 | 75 / 17 | 70 / 8 | 85 / 16 | 67 / 0 |
Season 18 | 84 / 19 | 78 / 8 | 91 / 17 | 67 / 0 |
Season 19 | 89 / 20 | 81 / 9 | 93 / 19 | 73 / 0 |
Season 20 | 92 / 21 | 86 / 10 | 94 / 19 | 76 / 2 |
Season 21 | 95 / 22 | 91 / 11 | 95 / 19 | 80 / 0 |
Season 22 (current) | 97 / 21 | 95 / 5 | 96 / 13 | 84 / 0 |
You'll notice quite some drops on the GF cards progress. That's because I started burning them.
That's +4% to the progress of legendary cards (and 0% to GFL), +1% progress to epic cards (and -6% to epic GF) - and stopped!, +4% progress to rare cards (and -6% to the rare GF), and +2% progress to the common cards (and -1% to the common GF).
Last season I had 5/7 maxed epics and 3/12 maxed legendary cards, 4/12 maxed common and 4/12 maxed rare cards.
After this season I have 6/7 maxed epics and 5/12 maxed legendary cards, 7/12 maxed common and 7/12 maxed rare cards.
So, the changes in max level status are: on legendary cards (+2), on epic cards (+1), on rare cards (+3), and on common cards (+3).
I stopped pushing on epic cards. I have one card that is not maxed and unlikely to get maxed "thanks" to RNG: missing 13 copies. So, I won't bother anymore.
I will continue to push for legendary draws first, rare 2nd (because they are further from 100% than commons), and commons last (because they are the main beneficiary of cards from chests too).
I already burned a good number of duplicates, but also started to burn GFs.
Here are the "before and after" snapshots for the Rebellion SB legendary cards, which are my current main focus. "Before" first:
3 at level 4 (max level), 8 at level 3, 1 at level 1
And now the current levels of the legendary cards...
My Rebellion SB legendary cards: 5 at level 4 (max level), 6 at level 3, 1 at level 2.
This season, 2 legendary cards got upgraded to max level, and 1 card to level 2.
Perhaps a more relevant metric is the amount of Glint already spent compared to the total amount needed to max out the SB set (only regulars).
Here' s my situation:
8,790,000 Glint
Glint value of the cards collected so far (ignore GF and doubles):
7,987,050 Glint*
*) Glint associated to the 13 copies of Olivia not pursued, added to not mess the progress.
Progress percentage:
90.87%
Estimated^ time to max out the RF cards (or GF, where possible):
5 more seasons (2.5 months, i.e. end-September)
^) estimation now includes tier advancement rewards (started using last season's info, rather than 3-seasons avg, because it's more relevant at the end); estimation doesn't account for Glint wasted on pulling doubles of maxed out cards or GF instead of RF (where GF card level isn't high enough)
Last season's Glint value of cards collected: 7,749,950.
Difference: 237,100 Glint-worth of cards this season, including tier advancement rewards.
Season since New SB Set | Glint-Worth of Cards (including Tier Advancement Rewards) | Difference |
---|---|---|
Season 15 | 352,050 | +7,650 Glint |
Season 16 | 323,250 | -28,800 Glint |
Season 17 | 298,500 | -24,750 Glint |
Season 18 | 302,400 | +3,900 Glint |
Season 19 | 375,800 | +73,400 Glint |
Season 20 | 226,850 | -148,950 Glint |
Season 21 | 417,300 | +190,450 Glint |
Season 22(current) | 237,100 | -180,200 Glint |
A major drop in the real advancement numbers, due to duplicates... as expected. Likely my 2 months estimate won't be enough, because it's still trailing, based on a time when I didn't hit so many doubles.

Nice strategy and solid progress, with that Glint management and focus on legendaries, you're getting impressively close to maxing the Rebellion SB set just in time!
Well... we'll see. It's likely I'll have a few cards that I won't max, but they will be pretty close. And I guess I'm fine with that!
I’ll be nowhere near a maxed set so I think I may have to look at burning legendary cards above silver to max out my epics and rares
Good luck with getting yours complete
I'll likely have a few... unmaxed cards, but overall, it was a decent progress. Good luck for your target of maxing out your cards for silver.
What did you find in the legendary draw?
The current rewards are classified as rebellion rewards right?
I purchased 8 legendary draws and got lucky with 2 legendary cards being pulled from reward chests too (only 1 of them wasn't a double though). I probably could tell you exactly what cards I got from all of them, but I'd have to look it up.
Yes, the current rewards are from Rebellion. They'll switch to Conclave Arcana in a few months.

There really should be a way to purchase individual cards once you get close to completion as it makes no sense having to gamble huge amounts of glints for either that last card or for one of the cards where you are way behind because of randomness.
I agree. There's no way I would spend more on epics for one card I am missing 13 copies, and the rest are maxed out. Of course, I understand their point of view too: they want these cards to have a market, once unlocked - but how many would buy them?
We should always buy cards that we have good knowledge about and we will then find that these cards will make the game much easier for us.
Well... this is more of a gamble than targeted purchases. And it's probably one of the best thing to use Glint for anyway.

It looks like good progress as you burned the gold foil cards. The legendary cards are looking quite good. I am guessing you won't try for that last card to be level 4? You are behind like that one epic card due to bad rng.
Yep, very likely I'll do the same... unless rng changes and I have a streak of those. I still have a little time to work on these cards.
The ENDLESS GIBBON is one of those legendary cards that you actually keep upgrading, but they never ever add any upgrades whatsoever. Waste of glint in my opinion
Well... it is a pretty weak for a legendary card. But it is 1 mana, which makes it ok in low mana games or as a filler. And at max level it gains +1 to attack. It's not like we have the choice to only get one legendary card and not the others.
