Crushing defeat by magic damage! | Curious Battles 59#

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, occasionally the victories are memorable for the great performance and sometimes the defeats end up being remembered for how crushing they were. Today I come to tell you about one that fulfills the last case!

Agor Longtail, a 15 mana beast, with void armor, flying, 6 armor, physical and magic attack, an acceptable speed and taunt aside, stole my team's attention for a while. Equalizer made us a bit even, but the huge magic punishment tipped the scales against me. Agor was a pretty steady tank from the start.

It was SeaStalker who took him down late in the first turn, by which time it looked like there might be some hope for me, but then came Serpent of Eld's fall and the failure catastrophe.

Here in the second place was where the road to my defeat began, where two Djinn Oshannus were face to face, same level, same stats, except one, the magic power, which was boosted by the enemy Delwyn. The Achilles heel of my team manifested itself when the failures came.

The enemy Djinn Oshannus brought out his great speed to shine by dodging a lot of attacks from my archers, giving rise to the fall of several of my monsters in the front, elusive and powerful are two pretty good adjectives to describe it on this occasion.

For the third place, this mirror phenomenon is again noticed, as the ghost of the captain manifested itself in both teams. Given that he is a cutter, it is predictable that he would appear, although it is still curious, because in this battle his ability was nullified, in particular the ability of all.

Poseidon, another representative of the seas in the Splinterlands world, popular culture and Greek mythology was my choice. This ranged attacker, brother of Zeus and bearded 4-point damage dealer managed to do quite a bit of damage but it wasn't enough to secure victory.

For his part, my opponent chose the Riverboat Captain, a slow but powerful mage, as his 2 points went to 3 when Delwyn gave him his buff, +1 magic damage.

Sea Stalker was my final archer, this kind of terrifying mermaid was able to damage quite a lot but failed at times because of her slowness. On the other hand, a popular but expensive mage was the one who reached the antepenultimate position, Coral Wraith, who in normal conditions would only have 2 life points, showed up with 11 points for Equalizer and 3 points of magic damage for only 4 points of mana, a total "bargain" and "offer", which left me pretty bad, because the magical punishment did not end there, a reptilian-looking priest accompanied him.

Next to Sea Stalker I placed the epic harpoon lover, a card I have had for a long time and has been quite useful to me, but this time it didn't perform as well as I expected.

Extra Curious facts:

Last week, a fast Unicorn Mustang came out to shine and dodged so many hits that he was the protagonist of one of my battles, but this time, it was an opponent who took the spotlight, dodging a lot and giving rise to a humiliating defeat on my part.
