Greetings, friends. The other day I shared with you a figurine inspired by Splinterlands. A pretty cool character called Djinn Oshannus. It was a sculpture that took me quite a while to make and goes together with others I've made.

Well, today I would like to share another figurine with you, in this case a sculpture of another Splinterlands character called Flame For Hire. In my opinion, this character looks epic, and I wanted to try to make a miniature figurine of him.

Saludos amigos. El otro día compartí con ustedes una figurita inspirada en splinterlands. Un personaje bastante genial llamado Djinn Oshannus. Fue una escultura que me costó bastante hacer y que hace conjunto con otras que he hecho.

Pues bien, hoy me gustaría compartir con ustedes otra figurita más, en este caso una escultura de otro personaje de splinterlands llamado Flame For Hire. Este personaje en mi opinión se ve épico y quise intentar hacer una figurita en miniatura del personaje.

Well, I wanted to make a figurine of the character, although without certain elements, such as the sword. I also made it just below the waist, so that the figure could stand upright without needing an overly elaborate base, like the others I have made.

The result I obtained after all this work is what you can see in the image below. A very beautiful sculpture that, in my opinion, manages to capture much of the original character. That's why I invite you to join me in the creative process of such a great character.

Bien, yo quise hacer una figurita del personaje aunque sin ciertos elementos, como la espada. También la hice hasta poco más abajo de la cintura, de manera que pudiera mantenerse erguida la figura sin necesidad de una base demasiado elaborada, así como las otras que he hecho.

El resultado que obtuve después de todo este trabajo es el que pueden apreciar en la imagen de abajo. Una escultura muy bonita que, en mi opinión, logra captar mucho del personaje original. Por esto los invito a acompañarme en el proceso creativo de tan genial personaje.

Step by step

Okay, the materials I used for this figurine were the following:

• Plasticine
• Wire
• Glue
• Paint

The first thing I did was create this shape that you see in the image on the left. At first glance, it might look like a piece of plasticine, but if you look closely, you can see that this piece is the starting point for molding what will become our character's torso.

This character is made of fire, so there's no need to add too many muscle details, overly defined abs, or pronounced pectorals. Simply drawing the muscle lines is more than enough, given the character's build.

Paso a paso

Bien, los materiales que utilicé para esta figurita fueron los siguientes:

• Plastilina
• Alambre
• Pegamento
• Pintura

Lo primero que hice fue crear esta forma que ven en la imagen de la izquierda. En un comienzo podría parecer un trozo de plastilina, pero si se fijan bien, a partir de esta pieza se comienza a moldear lo que sería el torso de nuestro personaje.

Es un sujeto hecho de fuego, así que no es necesario aplicar demasiados detalles de músculos, ni abdominales demasiado marcados ni pectorales demasiado pronunciados. Con hacer las líneas de los músculos es más que suficiente, por la complexión del personaje.

The same applies to the arms. I started by making these like sticks, then continued shaping the basic forms of an arm, making the bends and basic shapes of a bicep and tricep.

The hands, as you can see in the image on the right, are a little deformed. This is because the character is made of fire, and although his fingers are well defined, they are just that, fire, so that's why I made them the shape you see in the photo. I didn't make the shoulders too pronounced or large, as he is a character of average build, but with well-defined muscles, despite being made of “fire.”

Lo mismo aplica para los brazos. Comencé haciendo estos cual bastoncillos, luego continué moldeando las formas básicas de un brazo, haciendo los dobleces y las formas básicas de un biceps y triceps.

Las manos, como pueden ver en la imagen de la derecha, son un poco deformadas. Esto es porque el personaje está hecho de fuego y aunque sus dedos están bien definidos, son eso, fuego, así que por eso les hice esa forma que se observa en la foto. Los hombros no los hice demasiado pronunciados ni grandes, pues es un personaje de complexión media, pero con músculos bien definidos, a pesar de estar hecho de "fuego".

After making the torso and arms, I also made the head, which I shaped like an elongated drop of water. Then I began to join all the pieces together, using a wooden stick to smooth the joints.

Notice in the image on the right that I was able to give the arms some interesting shapes and poses. This is because I had not yet inserted any wire to support the arms, so I could move them before setting them in their final shape.

Después de hacer el torso y los brazos, también le hice la cabeza, la cual la hice con una forma parecida a una gota de agua alargada. Posteriormente comencé a unir todas las piezas, usando un palillo de madera para suavizar las uniones de las piezas.

Fíjense en la imagen de la derecha que logré darle unas formas y unas poses interesantes a los brazos, esto porque aún no había colocado alambre alguno para dar soporte a los brazos, así que podría moverlos antes de dejarlos en la forma final.

For the base, I made the black shorts that the character wears. That's as far as I got with the character, because, as I said, I wanted it to be the same as the others I've made, bust style.

Notice in the image on the left that I used a small piece of wire to support the joint between the character's legs and torso. This will allow it to stand upright without any problems.

Para la base hice los pantaloncillos negros que tiene el personaje. Hasta aquí hice el personaje, pues como dije quería que fuese igual que los otros que he hecho, estilo busto.

Fíjense en la imagen de la izquierda que usé un trocito de alambre para dar soporte en la unión entre las piernas y el torso del personaje. Esto hará que se pueda mantener erguido sin ningún problema.

Some very interesting elements are the red shoulder pads, which are more than just shoulder pads; they are also a combination of cape and shoulder pads. I don't know how else I could classify this garment.

In any case, in the images below, you can see how I began to place these pieces until I joined them to the torso.

Unos elementos muy interesantes son las hombreras rojas que tiene, que más que hombreras también es una combinación entre capa y hombreras, no sé cómo más podría catalogar esta prenda.

En cualquier caso, en las imágenes de abajo se puede ver cómo comencé a colocar estas piezas hasta unirlas al torso.

Another cool element is his mask, which is dark purple and practically forms the character's face, giving it shape. Since he is a man of fire, this mask gives him more personality, so to speak.

Otro elemento genial es la máscara que tiene, esta es de color morado oscuro y es prácticamente la cara del personaje, lo que le da forma al rostro, pues al ser un hombre de fuego, con esta máscara es que obtiene más personalidad, por decirlo de alguna manera.

The last thing I did was color the character's flames. This is to give more life to a character that, without paint, would look a little flat. That's why painting it makes it look more vivid and colorful.

Ya lo último que hice fue colorear las llamas del personaje, esto es para darle mayor vida a un personaje que, sin pintura, se vería un poco plano. Por eso al pintarlo hace que luzca con mayor profundidad y color.
