During the first year of the COLONY airdrop campaign, I was receiving around 27 COLONY per day. Not bad at all! But the real magic started as soon as Year 2 kicked in—because my daily rewards shot up to over 70 COLONY. That’s over three times what I was getting before!
Here’s why this is happening: according to the official airdrop schedule, Year 2 is when things really start ramping up. Check this out:
- Total COLONY Airdrop in Year 2: 63,072,000 COLONY
- Split Between SPS and GLX Holders:
- 31,536,000 COLONY for staked SPS holders
- 31,536,000 COLONY for staked GLX holders
That's exactly 3x more COLONY being distributed compared to Year 1 (which had just 21,024,000 COLONY in total). It’s designed this way intentionally—the airdrop grows each year, rewarding long-term stakers and encouraging continued commitment to the platform.
If you're new to the COLONY ecosystem, here's how it works:
Every day at 14:00 UTC, a snapshot is taken of all staked SPS and GLX balances. Around 28,800 COLONY is distributed daily to stakers on each platform (Splinterlands and GLS). Your share depends on how much you’ve staked. For example, if total staked SPS is 500M and you’ve staked 5M, you’ll earn 1% of that day’s airdrop.
Getting over 70 COLONY a day now really adds up. That’s 2,100+ COLONY a month—and we’re only in Year 2! I can’t wait to see what kind of growth is ahead as the airdrop continues to expand through Year 5.
