Weekly Challenge! SCAVO FIREBOLT

Pyre provides additional speed at 3 mana cost. Speed is very important in splinterlands. Additional speed makes slow monster faster so that it has higher chance of hitting the target while it makes fast monster even faster to evade enemy attack. Speed also determine who attacks first.

At 7 mana cost *Living Lava* offers 3 melee attack at 6 health point. 2 point of shield provide additional layer of defense. Although it is slow at speed of 1, the shield ability provide even more protection from melee and range attacks. With additional speed from *Pyre*, it should have lower chance of missing target.

You might see it as useless monster, but chaos agent is very useful for protecting range and magic cards from *snipers*, it is also useful in protecting valuable low health monsters from the opportunists. It's ideal position is right in front of range or magic cards.

Our featuring monster *Scavo Firebolt* provides 2 range attack and 4 health point at 4 mana cost, which is pretty hard to find at the cost. Even though it is a bit slow at the speed of 2, additional speed provides by *Pyre* would make it easier to hit the target.

Although it is pretty weak in terms of hit point, it has 2 range attack and blast ability makes additional damage to the enemy behind. With the speed of 4, it attack early in the game and decent chance of evading attacks from slow enemy. Additional speed would make it even faster. Due to its low health, it needs good protection.

With the only weakness of hit point, *Spark Pixies* provides 2 range attack at 4 mana cost. Its flying ability and fast speed would disappoint any monster targeting it let alone the additional speed from *Pyre*. Even though it has low health, I usually put *Spark Pixies* at the end of the line or near end of the line as it would surely evade most of the attacks from sneakers and opportunist.

As I have left with 1 more mana, I though it would be a good idea to place at the end of the line so that it provides additional cover to *Spark Pixies*

The battle was 25 mana capped match against Water splinter without any rule sets.

My opponent line-up consisted of Diemonshark as tank followed by Deeplurker to attack my weakest units, Meardaali Guardian to heal the tank and at the end of the line, Xenith Monk was placed. I had no idea why Xenith Monk, the melee unit was placed at the end of the line though.

Both team summoners provided additional speed, so we are even. At the end of round-1, I could take out the shield of Diemonshark while my Chaos Agent was targeted by enemy Deeplurker.

In round-2, I could take out Diemonshark even though it was healed. Deeplurker missed the attack on Spark Pixies and moved to tank position as Diemonshark was eliminated.

Did my strategy work?
I think focusing on the tank worked as expected. But the winning battle came from several losses. So, I am not so sure about it.


**Do I like SCAVO FIREBOLT? **
I think with 4 mana cost, SCAVO FIREBOLT is a good buy. But, it doesn't seem fit into the Fire splinter. As I am not very much into Fire Splinter, it doesn't really matter.
