Busy Transitional Day!
Again this .gif? Holy moly, we really are stuck in Groundhog Day.
Well, hopefully this is going to be the last one. I completed my COVID quarantine (did not drink any quarantinis) and completed my last night shift - for now. Hopefully I won't be covering any more of them for the remainder of this year, which ends in late June.
Finished work this morning, got clearance for my job, then went home, completed a few Hive tasks, and went to sleep for less than 3 hours. It's a busy day with a lot of plans since I'm coming back to work tomorrow, leaving me limited time to get things done!
I posted a brief to-do list on Threads right here.
Fortunately, the groceries aren't needed today, but another situation came up: one of my colleagues from last night asked if I could cover his Thursday and Friday floor shifts (for me, floors = 🤢 🤮) . This was for a conference which he knew about well in advance, thus should have asked people weeks ago, not at the last minute. Well, I've been covering shifts for several months, so this time I said I'm just not able to do it - I have to leave a little bit early those days, and it's not compatible with my schedule. I asked my colleague to search for someone else and get back to me if he's not able to find anyone (my biggest mistake!).
He never got back to me. Today, I found out from our upcoming chief that supposedly I am scheduled to cover those Thursday and Friday shifts. I told him that I never agreed to cover those shifts, and that I'd have to leave early on those days. This started a whole time-wasting routine between the chief, the person who asked me to cover, and myself. There's still no clear resolution, and I'm going to speak to the chief in person tomorrow, although most likely I will be covering the shifts. If I'm not going to be able to leave these shifts early, then I'm simply going to have to reject taking them. I've already covered enough, and I have to take care of my own personal things. Let someone else cover for a change!
Anyway, the rest of this evening is going to be finishing my extensive self-grooming (I do tend to spend far too much time on this, but it's pretty much one of the few things that makes me feel like a functional human being these days), stretch/meditation, and a small number of Hive things.
Tomorrow we begin our electives again (these are typically subspecialties of medicine with lighter work hours for residents, i.e. 8 - 4 p.m.), and it's actually going to be my first elective since July. Going 8 months without an elective is a very long time. So I'm going to spend several hours there, talk with the chief, then head home not late!
Hopefully I won't be getting called to cover after Thursday/Friday. I've seriously had enough of it. There are plenty of other residents who haven't pulled their weight, and it's time that they become a little bit more reliable. I have to put myself first.

The to-do list is huge for today. I think it is nice having a to-do list. I personally, rarely do it. Do you have one for each day?
Not all days, but I've started creating one for a lot of days. It's definitely helpful with keeping accountability.
Glad to have you visit my blog, @acidyo. Feel free to say hi as you swing by.
I'm sure you know what it's about so didn't feel necessary to leave an explanation.
Make sure to do the same thing with your own posts and the posts of your colleagues, which earn $30+ apiece primarily from autovotes quality cast aside. Fair is fair, right?
Have a nice day.
Autovotes are fine, I'm not paying the stakeholders to target me with their autovotes. Do continue to avoid the issue at hand but I'll stop wasting my time at this point giving you more attention.
By the way, I don't care much that you downvote me, but attacking the self-funded community account is very low, even for you. Most of the rewards come from HSBI shared with community members. Shame on you.
I don't know what self-funded means, it's delegating out stake and receiving votes based on that, that goes against curation so it should be treated the same. It also isn't giving anyone any beneficiaries even though at the end of the post it says it would. Same goes for that curation account where you only give the curator 10% post beneficiaries, that's also considered abuse as you take 90% yourself.
I don't take any for myself, these are funds that I gave for the community. My intention was to keep it there so the community could grow and support its members. I also support the curator with monthly HSBI payments, along with the 10% beneficiary rewards.
I discussed all delegations with my community, and they were all on board with the way I have been running the account. All community decisions are run by our members before I implement them.
You still haven't taken the time to actually read the post I wrote, but you start attacking. I'm trying to help build and create, and you're on a path to destroy. You claim that you want to help Hive, but you're doing the opposite.
Again, shame on you.
HSBI in and of itself is selling votes, that's not a valid form of rewarding your community members when you could just curate them like everyone else does. It's not my fault if you're going way above and beyond to complicate your own activities by including vote selling schemes and expect others to know where you're coming from. Miss me with the "shame on you" shit, I'm here building value for stakeholders for years while staying true to curation by fighting off any and all schemes people have come up with over the years to mostly enrich themselves. Saying you're just doing it to build up your account to support the community is worthless since you own the stake and could just go silent tomorrow and fuck off with it.
Love to see a little bit of self-flagellation in the morning. Egos destroy, and that's exactly what you're doing, despite what you may think. I'm one of the few people that's actually trying to build something on Hive - something meaningful - and you choose to attack because of selfishness. Congratulations on being one of the lucky few to be early enough on Hive to be able to get a bulk of the rewards. I hope you're happy with selling your soul now.
I'll be making an announcement to the community tonight. I've been respectful to you, but since you now choose to attack the community, this time I will not mince words.
@josephsavage you should be aware that acidyo appears intent on attacking people who use HSBI. I thought Hive was past this, but alas, some people are intent on destroying instead of building.
What ego am I showing? How is this beneficial and based on self-interest for me? What am I gaining from these endless rants with you and sending a fraction of the rewards back to everyone else. Quit being delusional for a minute and see the vote selling for what it is, vote selling. HSBI is no different, it's not giving out any tokens and its not giving out any hive, only votes which devalues the value of hive and how people earn it. Ya'll seem past the point of return.
When you upvote any content on Hive you get back 50% curation rewards. Hive SBI works exactly the same way. You commit stake for permanent upvotes on the account, and then you get back 50% as upvotes on your own account.
Putting it through the Hive SBI mechanism has some advantages over managing your auto-votes through an auto-voter, and some disadvantages.
At the end of the day, curation is curation. Just because you don't understand the mechanism doesn't make it vote-selling.
Why are you starting this comment off with this? Any logical reason because it sure as hell isn't relevant to your project in any way.
You're voting people who have given you liquid Hive, you're not giving them part of the curation rewards, just their value back over time in the form of small votes over many posts. That's the issue.
Sure you may give some people units for free and that's fine and encouraged with hopefully some oversight on who the receivers are, and sure people gift the units to others but it's still costing them initially and that's how you've made most of your hivepower I reckon.
I don't understand what you think I may not be understanding over your mechanism. It's voteselling with a long-tail, is it not?
That is incorrect. Take the 50% curation the HSBI account gets. Now do the math to figure out what that is per share of HSBI. They then receive an upvote equal to that. So you see, the upvote is not their money coming back, but it is the curation on their upvote. There is no difference between this "upvote payment" and the "curation payment" they would otherwise have been getting if they had powered up the HIVE themselves.
@josephsavage correct me if I'm wrong.
Just because they're giving them 2x rewards based on the value of the hive they purchased the votes for doesn't change much, if that's what you're implying to with the curaton rewards. They're still voting based on who's paying, not things curators look to reward and direct inflation to.
I just stumbled upon a post @vempromundo going over the HSBI project and the fact they hadn't upvoted the post just cause (what I assume) the author doesn't have units or has purchased votes kind of proves my point of what's wrong with these schemes. It's a little sad to say the least that the creator consumed and left a response but didn't reward a post literally talking about his own project with a vote.
I don't want people to read too into this example but if all we vote is just whoever gives us money I don't think I need to remind people of how that went a few years ago.
I understand and agree with your position. After all, if we talk about a topic and bring it up, we expect at least some 'consideration'. A vote would be interesting, but a comment like his, giving space for an 'interview' also seemed interesting to me, because at least I will be able to clear up all the doubts that I and many others have about the HSBI program.
However, I wasn't bothered by the lack of an upvote, since I didn't even know who the account holder was, much less that I was on his radar when I made the post. I always try to talk about topics that my followers are talking about, whether on the feed or on Discord, because I believe that is what they would like to consume. But I understand your point of view, your criticism, and I consider it valid. After all, when someone mentions one of my initiatives, I am happy and gave my upvote to the person as a form of consideration.
The voting power in the Hive SBI accounts is specifically earmarked to support the crowdsourced basic income. In effect, each HIVE submitted dedicates permanent support for the sponsored account, and the curation is provided back to the sponsor in the form of upvotes for their own support.
Any manual curation from the accounts would divert value, violate promises made to the community, and be an example of the forms of corruption that your video mentioned users should be watchful of. It would be like if hive.vote used its posting authorities to divert user upvotes whenever it encounters posts about itself. That would very obviously be theft!
We reblogged your post, and that can attract more voters with discretionary voting power, but our own VP is committed to delivery according to the promises made to our stakeholders.
I understand the point; it does make sense not to divert votes so that the initial idea prevails. But I believe it is also possible to talk to stakeholders and find more case studies for HSBI.
The idea proposed in the negative tax video may not be the best, even though I see it as the least bad, it could be a solution, but again I understand that it would unbalance the current model.
I also understand the criticisms of vote buying, but I have not yet formed an opinion on this allegation; I need to read and study a little more.
Otherwise, thanks for the comment.
You have made very good and reasonable arguments.
For me, this HSBI stock has always been a normal bid-bot.
I think Mr. Savage is running his project with honest and good intentions. However, this service is no longer necessary. Instead of paying Hive for HSBI shares, Hive can be sent directly to the recipient via the “tip” button on PeakD. This is easier, faster and saves on the reward pool.
Even though this HSBI share is run with good intentions, there are always people who take advantage of it for their own gain.
