Splinterlands Lore: CAPTAIN'S GHOST

The legend of this pirate is so old that over the years many have doubted its veracity and only those able to find the treasure guarded by this entity know the true story, however, at the time of knowing the truth is at that moment when their lives end.

From a very young age and with an unknown name, he wanted to be the greatest pirate in history, the one with the most fearsome crew and thus obtain treasures of incalculable value, this was just a dream of a child, but over the years he could make it come true, but at a cost that in his own words is something he wished he had never dreamed of. Already being a little older he was in a couple of pirate ships where he could forge himself as a strong and determined man. His journey as captain began at the moment when, with the help of several crew members of the ship, they started a mutiny to dethrone the current captain, since according to the words of the protagonist of this story: "His days as captain are over and it is time for someone with greater ambition and power to take control". It was a total massacre, leaving very few alive in that infernal struggle, of the few survivors who were still loyal to the old captain was given the opportunity to join him or die, there were several who preferred to die, some even with little strength left and with mortal wounds fought to the end but it was in vain, the ship already had a new captain.

Years passed and the exploits of this protagonist sounded all over the seas, few were those who could flee in an encounter with them, since, as was his plan from the beginning, he obtained pirate "companions" who were almost as strong as he was, so facing them was a matter of life or death. They were collecting a huge amount of treasures throughout his long voyage, as he managed to be captain for several years, being the last years of his life the worst of the era of piracy, because when he contracted a fatal disease, the captain whose name is still unknown, searched all the seas of the world for a cure for his grief. It was thus that the doctor of his crew, seeing that his captain was in total despair, told him the legend of a "shaman" who had the ability to cure any disease, but there was a cost which the shaman himself had to indicate. Although his crew was loyal to him, the doctor told him that access to such a shaman was quite difficult, so this sowed doubt among them, initiating disputes which were solved with death.

It was very strong and dangerous journey, many died on the journey to find the cure for the evil that haunted the captain, but there were still a few crew members loyal to him, even in those moments their bond of camaraderie became much stronger, but not as strong as the desire of the captain to heal and survive. Arriving at the shaman after having died, many of the crew found themselves before him, discovering that he was not a simple shaman, but a demon that took that form, although that did not really matter to the captain, since he wanted to live. The demon asked as payment for curing him all the treasures he had accumulated during all these years and although some of the few crew members opposed to this, the captain quickly finished with them, those he considered traitors, leaving only those faithful to him, which did not exceed 3 people. However, being a demon, he had something else in store for the captain, and he seduced him by offering him immortality, promising him that by having it he could continue causing chaos and accumulating treasure for eternity.

Something that the captain would accept, since at this point of the trip he had totally lost his sanity, however, the price to pay for this "prize" was to finish with what was left of his crew. A bloody battle began between the last members of the pirate crew, leaving the captain himself mortally wounded, over what were once his most faithful companions, dead on the ground.

Although the demon expected this event, he was surprised to see the tenacity at the time of fighting of this captain, so he granted him immortality, but as is known, demons always play a bad trick and instead of curing him and thus give him the opportunity to be immortal, he let the captain die to later revive his soul in a ghost that can never die. He was condemned to that place for all eternity, under the bones of his former companions and with the treasure he had accumulated over the years, which he could not touch. This myth was passed down for many years and those who embarked on the adventure to find the treasure, died knowing in the end the story of the now named CAPTAIN'S GHOST.

La leyenda es de esta pirata es tan antigua que con el pasar de los años muchos han dudado de su veracidad y tan solo aquellos capaces de encontrar el tesoro custodiado por esta entidad saben la verdadera historia, sin embargo, al momento de saber la verdad es en ese momento cuando sus vidas acaban.

Desde muy joven y de nombre desconocido tenía como afán ser el mayor pirata de la historia, aquel que con la tripulación más temible y así obtener tesoros de valores incalculables, esto era tan solo un sueño de un niño, que con el pasar de los años lo pudo hacer realidad, pero a un coste que bajo sus mismas palabras es algo que desearía no haber soñado. Ya siendo un poco mayor de edad estuvo en un par de barcos piratas donde pudo forjarse como un hombre fuerte y decidido. Su travesía como capitán inicio en el momento cuando, con la ayuda de varios tripulantes del barco iniciaron un motín para destronar al actual capitán, ya que según las palabras del protagonista de esta historia: “Sus días como capitán han terminado y es hora de que tome el control alguien con una mayor ambición y poder”. Fue una masacre total, quedando muy pocos vivos en esa lucha infernal, de los pocos sobrevivientes que aún eran fieles al antiguo capitán se le dio la oportunidad de unírsele o morir, fueron varios los que prefirieron morir, algunos incluso con más pocas fuerzas que les quedaban y con heridas mortales lucharon hasta el final pero fue en vano, el barco ya tenía un nuevo capitán.

Pasaron los años y las hazañas de este protagonista sonaban por todos los mares, pocos eran los que podían huir en un encuentro con ellos, ya que, como era su plan desde el inicio, obtuvo “compañeros” piratas que eran tan casi tan fuertes como lo era él, por lo que enfrentarse a ellos era cosa de vida o muerte. Fueron recolectando una enorme cantidad de tesoros a lo largo de su longevo viaje, ya que logro ser capitán durante varios años, siendo los últimos años de su vida los peores de la era de la piratería, ya que al contraer una enfermedad mortal, el capitán cuyo nombre sigue siendo desconocido, buscó en todos los mares del mundo un cura para su pesar. Fue así como el medico de su tripulación, viendo que su capitán se encontraba en total desesperación le contó la leyenda de un “chaman” que tenía la capacidad de curar cualquier enfermedad, pero había un coste el cual el propio chaman le debía indicar. Si bien su tripulación era leal a él, el médico le dijo que para acceder a tal chaman era algo bastante difícil, por lo que esto sembró la duda entre ellos, iniciando disputas la cuales se solucionaban con la muerte.

Fue muy fuerte y peligroso el viaje, muchos murieron en la travesía por encontrar la cura del mal que asechaba al capitán, pero aún quedaban unos cuantos tripulantes fieles a él, incluso en esos momentos su lazo de camaradería se hizo mucho más fuerte, pero no tan fuerte como las ganas del capitán de curarse y sobrevivir. Al llegar a donde el chamán luego de haber muerto muchos de la tripulación se encuentran ante él, descubriendo que no se trataba de un simple chaman, sino de un demonio que tomaba esa forma, aunque eso realmente no le importó al capitán, ya que quería vivir. El demonio pidió como pago por curarlo todos los tesoros que había acumulado durante todos estos años y si bien algunos de los pocos tripulantes se opusieron a esto, rápidamente el capitán acabo con ellos, a los que él consideraba traidores, quedando tan solo aquellos fieles a él, los cuales no pasaban de 3 personas. Sin embargo, al ser un demonio este le tenía algo más preparado al capitán y es que lo sedujo ofreciéndole la inmortalidad, prometiéndole que al tenerla podrá seguir causando caos y acumulando tesoro por toda la eternidad.

Algo que el capitán aceptaría, ya que en este punto del viaje había perdido totalmente la cordura, sin embargo, el precio a pagar por este “premio” era acabar con lo que quedaba de su tripulación. Inicio una batalla sangrienta entre los últimos miembros de la tripulación pirata, quedando herido de muerte el propio capitán, sobre lo que eran antiguamente sus más fieles compañeros, muertos en el suelo.

Si bien el demonio esperaba este acontecimiento, se sorprendió a ver la tenacidad a la hora de lucha de este capitán, por lo que le otorgó la inmortalidad, pero como es sabido, los demonios siempre te hacen una mala jugada y en lugar de curarlo y de esta manera darle la oportunidad de ser inmortal, dejo que el capitán muriese para posteriormente revivir su alma en un fantasma que nunca podrá morir. Fue condenado a ese lugar para toda la eternidad, bajo los huesos de sus antiguos compañeros y con el tesoro que había acumulado durante años, el cual no podrá tocar. Esta mito fue transmitido durante muchos años y aquellos que se embarcaron en la aventura por la búsqueda del tesoro, murieron sabiendo al final la historia del ahora nombrado CAPTAIN'S GHOST.
