A Plan Built on Decoys.

After merging Demeter with Gaia, a plan was formed to capture Hephaestus using the dual-core cauldron Gemini. Beta identified the need for Omega Clearance to override its defenses, forcing Aloy to seek Ted Faro's bunker, Thebes, in the ruins of San Francisco.

After I successfully merged Demeter with Gaia, the atmosphere in the base shifted. Gaia explained that with the acquisition of Aether, Poseidon, and Demeter, her heuristic-processing density had expanded greatly. She finally got strong enough to begin planning for capturing Hephaestus.

Varl and Beta joined the conversation as Gaia mentioned that Beta had been busy analyzing all available data on Hephaestus. They knew that catching a function as powerful wouldn't be easy.

Gaia explained that to trap it, they needed a location with a direct physical connection to her, specifically, a facility equipped with two distinct data cores.

When Aloy asked where they could possibly find such a unique facility, Beta suggested an abandoned cauldron known as Gemini, that's located in the desert and is plagued by severe seismic activity. The facility has two data cores Gaia required for her plan.

Gaia suggested a blueprint for a transport rig to move her core. However, it was an unwieldy piece of equipment that would require two people to carry it all the way to Gemini. Varl immediately stepped up and volunteered to help.

The plan was laid out. once Gaia would be installed on the first core, she would call down Hephaestus onto the second core, trapping it within the network before initiating the final merge.

It was a brilliant strategy, but Gaia warned she would need considerable help to construct the transport rig and the necessary pulse generators.

Aloy asked Beta if she was up for the task. Beta agreed but was fearing that Zeniths would find them the moment they start it.

Aloy quickly came up with a solution, and they could create multiple power surges across the map to act as decoys and "fake out" the Zeniths. Gaia confirmed this tactic could be effective and suggested Beta build handheld pulse generators.

Then Beta said, Hephaestus had stripped Alpha clearance from its access modules, meaning their current permissions wouldn't be enough to trap it.

The mission seemed impossible until Beta remembered Ted Faro's "Omega Clearance", a master key that could override anything.3

But to find it, Aloy realized she would have to locate Thebes, the private bunker where Ted Faro retreated when the world ended.

Aloy decided to set sail for the ruins of San Francisco to find the bunker, leaving Beta and Varl to build the rig while she was gone.
