How to manage a profitable Rabona team

Direct from the desk of Dane Williams.
Helping to set up and manage a profitable Rabona team.
Rabona is an extremely underrated play-to-earn game that we have here on Hive.
The world is crying out for a good blockchain based football manager game.
All I have ever wanted to see is Hattrick, but players as NFTs and a crypto-based economy behind it all.
But while we have the base of something special in Rabona... I just can’t figure out how to manage a profitable team!
All I want to do is turn my Rabona team into a profitable play-to-earn gaming venture.
So in this blog I’m going to use my own Rabona team as an example, but the real value will be in helping you to set up and manage a profitable Rabona team.
The problem with my Rabona team
After actively playing Rabona for over 12 months now, my team Will FC remains stagnant and the frustration is literally killing me.

On behalf of everyone, I’m putting out an SOS to the gun play-to-earn community that calls Hive home.
Surely I’m not alone in that I can’t seem to turn a significant profit playing Rabona…
So I make roughly 1 million RBN profit per season, but if I am to ever renew the contracts of players I need to win league 2, then I need more.

Making that amount of profit per year, I can’t even afford to renew 1 30K RBN per match contract, let alone a whole team.

I am concerned about a wage bill that means my club starts making losses that I don’t want to prop up with HIVE.
So I just let the contracts expire and my team remains stagnant in mid table.
Searching for more revenue in Rabona
Looking at the financials in the screenshots above, I obviously have a revenue problem.
One source of revenue that I’m not maximising, is my ticket sales.
I only sell 50% of my stadium out.
My ticket prices are almost as low as I can make them, down to 5 RBN, but I’m still not seeing crowds increase.
Why?

Another revenue source that doesn’t deliver no matter what I try, is the profitability of my shop.
Not only have I demolished it all the way back down to level 2, but I’ve also tried to scale prices up and down.
Still however, running costs always outweigh profit.

The questions that remain
With all that in mind, I have 3 questions
If I were to win league 2, would a successful team mean higher profits and a sustainable higher wage structure?
How can I fill my stadium and increase revenue via ticket sales? - Rock bottom ticket prices aren’t working
Why is my shop simply unable to make money even at level 2, no matter what I do to prices?
Please help me level up and ultimately manage a profitable Rabona team.
Best of probabilities to you.

Ah Rabona :)
I have been playing semi passivley. All I know to be in profit you need fans. Those buy tickets and things from the shop. How many fans do you have? How to get fans?
All I did was maxed all the buildings, spent most of my time in league 1, been in champions for short period, now in l2 :)

Fans: 53,007
Which I take it, isn't very high?
I've been told to get more fans before, but I've been playing for a longggg time and it's just not happening.

Not sure how you get those ... I have like 60M :)
Is your stadium at max lvl?
The best is probably to ask around in their discord
My stadium is at level 13/15.
I sell under 50% of it at current levels and the next level costs me 55 million to upgrade when I only earn 1 mill total profit per season.
Doesn't seem worth it?
I did ask in the Discord a while back and anyone answering made me feel like I was asking dumb n00b questions...
The answer seemed to be that I just need more fans.
But it has been months since I asked then and I am still having the same cashflow problems and I don't seem to be adding a significant number of fans that will move the needle.

I played Rabona for a while and gave up in the hopes of upgrading my youth Academy to the highest point, I think that is the only way I can make profits because I was spending too much on it.
I got to league 1 so I wouldn't say winning league 2 would help a lot because most costs are from your upgrades and the expensive as hell players.
Everyone says to upgrade your building to the max.
But when your club doesn't make much of a profit, it seems like a sunk cost.
I'm just really disillusioned with the game at the moment.

It just feels like you are wasting a lot of money and not gaining any.
I understand this, I quit because of this exactly reason but my goal is focus on other games and maybe ill go back to Rabona when I can upgrade it all.
The tokenomics of play-to-earn games is so important, but I'm not sure if it's the game or just me.
Thanks for letting me know that I'm not alone in the money problems I face haha.

Hehe, you aren't alone.
What's the price of tickets? In league 2, try reducing the price and there's a chance you'll get more people in the stadium.
Considering you're lvl 13/15, you could just use like 30-40RBN per game.
Scouting is very important and I think the best way to get better players is to scout.
If you intend to attract more fans, you have to improve the overall strength of your team. The higher it is, the more fans come around.
Also, other than stadium, try to upgrade everything else. Especially that one that gives you home advantage. You definitely want to be winning matches at home.
So, back to the scouting, try to set a particular standard for your team. Get your team's average OS to around 65-75 range, that use to be enough to get through your league. Try to scout like A LOTTT!!!!
You're already reinvesting your RBN earning into the team, so that's good. Put funds into upgrading your squad. If you earn 1M RBN per season, then there's no point in entering the market. Just scout out some gems.

My ticket prices were down to 5 RBN and I was still not filling the stadium even half way.
Fuck it, I've now bumped up my ticket prices from 5 RBN to 30 RBN.
Can't be any worse...
This is all I have been doing.
Letting all contracts expire and just continuously scouting new ones with only 400 RBN per match wages.
God it sucks scouting guns, training them to mid 80 OS and then just letting their contract expire...
I sell a few every now and then, but the transfer market doesn't seem very active so most just leave for free.
What came first, the chicken or the egg?
So should I be doing into debt by renewing those contracts and improving my team?
Taking the short term financial hit in order to sell more tickets over the long term which will eventually offset the costs?
So basically you're saying I should try renewing my expiring contracts and taking the short term hit to my finances in order to win?
It's winning that makes more fans come so I just have to cop it?

Basically. If you manage to win League 2, you're going to get a huge influx of fans. It is a two-season gamble that will pay off.
Alternatively, you can decide to pump in a little money into the club. About 3 Hive should get you roughly 40M RBN that you can use to do a lot of scouting and pay the salaries.
With your stadium in Level 3, are you even making enough with 5RBN ticket price to pay for the running cost?
