Weekly HSBI Giveaway for the Splinterlands Community #17

HSBI Titelbild.png

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to the my weekly HSBI giveaway for the Splinterlands community!

The last week was again a bit full of news for Splinterlands. Firstly, the sale of Yaba's Pickle was set for June 24th. The SPS Snapshot will take place tomorrow, more information about the dates can be found in this blog. In addition, the Crypto Gaming Recovery Fund is now officially being voted on by proposal. And last but not least, a new promo card has been announced and it's called Tasoshi Drakamoto and looks pretty good at first glance. You can find all the information about it in this blog. Today there is also a service post from me: since I will be on vacation for the next few days, it will be a bit quieter on my Hive account and the next giveaway will probably not be posted for three weeks. That means you have a little more time to participate this time.

Answers to the last Question:

Last week's question was "What is your opinion on the new Campaign mode?". This time, 13 people took part and answered the question. Let's have a look at some of your answers.

@doombot75:

Campaign mode is a great starting point for new players and hopefully the start of some really good PVE experience making your way across praetoria to multiple dueling arena and the odd mysterious encounter along the way. Think it’s a very watered down version of what the creative team really wanted to give us with cut scenes etc but a perfect way to introduce the cards to arriving players.

I agree with you on all your points. As you described, the first part is a great thing for the new players to explain the mechanics. Campaign mode has a lot of potential for good PVE content, even for advanced players. I hope that a lot more will come in the future, including smaller cut scenes.

@daicoon:

As a new player who don't have own cards before the Champaign release its really hard to earn sps (none at all) but now using the Champaign card rewards + delegation its giving me a WOW FACTOR that i can earn SPS already 😅 cheers for newbs!

Yes, the start for new players has been made much easier, which I think is very good. If you buy a Spell Book and play through the first part of the Campaign Mode, you can actually make quite good progress. If you ever need help, you can always contact me!

@snowboarderpete:

I love the new campaign mode. It's exactly what I wish was in place when I started the game. Slightly concerned its being exploited by bots but I think the team are on top of it. It does make me revisit the question of letting bots play at all.

I would never have thought that the bot accounts could or would take advantage of the Campaign mode. It really is a bit sad... Another reason to finally ban the bots in Splinterlands completely. Still, it's good that the Splinterlands team reacted so quickly

@monggoman:

As a RETURNEE, I think the new Campaign mode in Splinterlands is a fantastic addition. It adds a much-needed layer of lore and storytelling, which really deepens player immersion. The structured progression creates a stronger emotional connection to the game world, and that’s something we've been wanting for a long time.
What stands out most is how the Campaign mode supports onboarding — offering free NFT cards gives new and returning players a low-risk way to explore the mechanics and test if they enjoy the gameplay. It’s not just a smart design move; it shows the developers are thinking about long-term player engagement. Overall, it makes Splinterlands feel more alive and accessible than ever.

I have nothing to add, a great and detailed answer!

A few days ago, I wrote a blog about the new Campaign mode and here I also described my first impressions. To summarize, I found the good introduction for new players, the chapter structure, the useful links, the tutorial elements and the short cutscenes very good. What I didn't like is that it took so long to develop and that there is currently only one chapter. But I remain optimistic and hope that new chapters and PVE content will be added here soon.

And the Winner is...

It's time to draw the winner of the last giveaway.

This week's question is...

That card is probably going to be very strong! Sneak Magic is already very powerful, but with Stun it's even more so. Spite with a Magic Attack is very strong, too. The Inspire doesn't really fit, but anything else would've made that card too powerful anyway.

I, due to being a fairly low budget and new player(and thus currently have 3.5 vouchers) haven't delved into vouhcers much.

What I've seen, they are def for the players with a better budget.

As to the card in question, it seems a solid card, but if I were spending that much on a card I think I'd go for Taye Loreswift or level up some of my rares.

I wish I could afford a max copy of her! I'm slowly building my deck, and getting her is def a goal since I am loving the Elves in CA.

No rush whatsoever, it definitely takes some time to build things up, and eventually you'll start being able to get a feel for deals and knowing where you can make small profit plays to help build things up. Definitely getting a small/decent bag of SPS staked to start will help with all around earnings within the game!

I think the card is pretty strong. Somewhat comparable to Arcane Skinwalker because they have the same mana cost, same attack type and power, and Inspire. However, it has Spite, Stun, and Sneak. Sneak on a magic unit is rare and very interesting. This one should be pretty strong.

Tasoshi looks like a killer addition to the Fire Splinter with Sneak Magic and Stun (only Flame for Hire has Stun in Modern for Fire currently). I'll probably look at picking up enough copies for LVL 3 out the gate as Inspire will add some great synergy with Cavewise Wayfinder/Viscious Giraffe's Painforging. Stun being added at LVL 5 is a bit of a negative for me as that will make it quite expensive to get to without having the upfront Vouchers to spend.

Overall I am excited for the new Exclusive Promo and can't wait to see how they do in Modern.

Tasoshi has a kind of interesting set of abilities in my opinion. I feel like it can be quite useful in a number of line ups.
Unfortunately I don't have a lot of vouchers atm so I probably won't get one right away.

Its definitely going to be a strong card at all levels, whether its as impactful in the meta as Keelan Gaines remains to be seen. I'll try and pick up a silver level copy of it if vouchers stay at a decent level. I think the skillset is very interesting although as I said I'll only be taking it up to the sneak/inspire.

Pairing Drakoshan summoner with water could see some really quick sneak teams.
