Splinterlands - Legendary Cards from the Rebellion Reward Set #4 [ENG/DE]

Another Splinterlands season has recently come to an end and I was able to earn some Glint again and of course I wanted to spend it right away. This is a perfect occasion to continue my blog series in which I buy Legendary Draws, since I am only missing legendary cards from the Rebellion Reward set, and briefly report on these cards. So let's take a look at which legendary card I received this time.

Since I wasn't able to play a lot of Modern last season and my bot played a lot of games in Wild instead, I unfortunately didn't get quite as much Glint. That's why I was only able to buy three Legendary Draws for a total of 105k Glint. As always, I used Alchemy Potions and, as always, didn't get a golden card 😅. I also got Gallicus, a card that was already presented in the last blog. If you want to watch the opening again, you can do so here.

In the last blog we were able to draw several different cards, so we didn't get to talk about Frigid Wolf yet. We'll make up for that in this blog and, of course, we'll also talk about Chaos Battle Mage.

Chaos Battle Mage

Chaos Battle Mage, real name Zephyria Valtorian, idolized the battle mages in the arenas of Praetoria as a small child. They were her idols and one day she wanted to be like them. However, her talent in the arena was mediocre at best. When the “Chaos Legion” invaded Praetoria, she seized the opportunity and allied herself with them. She then took advantage of her high position to acquire a considerable collection of cards. With her perfect deck, she now dominates both inside and outside the arena.

I really like the artwork, the purple and pink colors fit very well with the Chaos Legion, with which she has allied herself, and the captured card collection also finds a good place in the artwork. Based on the artwork and name, however, I would classify Chaos Battle Mage more as a magic attacker.

Because instead of a magic attacker, Chaos Battle Mage is a ranged attacker, but a pretty good one in my opinion. It's not for nothing that the card costs eight mana. It also belongs to the neutral splinter, has a decent speed value and thanks to the one Armor Point, the card isn't bad on defense either. At the first level Chaos Battle Mage has the ability Piercing and at the next level Rebirth is added.

Chaos Battle Mage would benefit the most from summoner Prophet Rosa, as it gives her another two ranged attacks. With the Piercing ability, this would make her a strong attacker.

Another neutral card that harmonizes well with Chaos Battle Mage is Venka the Vile, which has a strong melee attack and Pierce ability.

A similar variant would be to play Chaos Battle Mage together with Rush Townsend. At the third level, this also gets the Pierce ability and thanks to Ambush and the high speed value of both cards, enemy targets could be eliminated quickly, especially if they have armor.

Frigid Wolf

Frigid Wolves prowl Praetoria’s tundras, taigas, alpine forests, and other subarctic biomes. They hunt in coordinated packs, isolating and surrounding their prey before moving in for the kill. Their loyalty is hard to earn, and they are harder still to break. However, if captured as pups, they can be trained to hunt, patrol, and serve as sentinels.

I have to say that I don't think the artwork of this card is that great, especially with the background that it's a legendary card. It's just a normal wolf without any special features, except for the red eyes maybe, which don't really fit the Life Splinter either.

In the game, Frigid Wolf is one of the legendary cards that only costs one mana and is therefore very cheap to play. The combination of the melee attack and the ability Charge, so that you can attack from any position, makes the card a cheap attacker in the back rows. If you combine Frigid Wolf with the right cards, he is not to be underestimated in my opinion.

Even though I wouldn't specifically target my summoner to Frigid Wolf, he benefits the most from Elias Max Pruitt thanks to the melee attack boost and the armor point. In addition, the second alternative of abilities might also be beneficial for Frigid Wolf.

The combination of Janni Rebel and Frigid Wolf would be a strong one, thanks to Janni Rebel's Inspire ability. Frigid Wolf can then attack from the back row with an improved melee attack.

Venka the Vile would also be a good card here, as she, like Frigid Wolf, also has Charge abillity and so both cards could attack from the back row and deal damage.

Last Words

Since I already introduced Gallicus in the last post and Chaos Battle Mage is the only legendary neutral card from this set, we have completed the Life Splinter and the neutral Splinter. I think Chaos Battle Mage in particular stands out today. I actually play the card quite often. But also Frigid Wolf is definitely not to be underestimated with the right combos, as I mentioned before.

Eine weitere Splinterlands Season ist vor kurzem zu Ende gegangen und ich konnte wieder einige Glint verdienen und diese wollte ich dann natürlich direkt wieder ausgeben. Das ist ein perfekter Anlass, meine Blog-Reihe fortzusetzen, in der ich Legendary Draws kaufe, da mir nur noch legendäre Karten aus dem Rebellion Reward Set fehlen, und kurz über diese Karten berichte. Sehen wir uns also erstmal an, welche legendären Karte ich dieses Mal erhalten habe.

Da ich in der letzten Saison nicht sehr viel Modern spielen konnte, und stattdessen mein Bot in Wild viele Spiele gemacht hat, habe ich leider nicht ganz so viele Glint erhalten. Deswegen konnte ich mir lediglich drei Legendary Draws für insgesamt 105k Glint kaufen. Wie immer habe ich hierbei Alchemy Potions verwendet und wie immer keine goldene Karte erhalten 😅. Außerdem habe ich mit Gallicus eine Karte erhalten, die bereits im letzten Blog vorgestellt wurde. Wenn ihr das Opening noch mal ansehen wollt, könnt ihr das hier machen.

Im letzten Blog konnten wir mehrere verschiedene Karten ziehen und haben dementsprechend noch nicht über Frigid Wolf sprechen können. Das holen wir in diesem Blog einfach nach und daneben geht es natürlich noch um Chaos Battle Mage.

Chaos Battle Mage

Chaos Battle Mage, mit echten Namen Zephyria Valtorian, vergötterte als kleines Kind die Battle Mages in den Arenen von Praetoria. Sie waren ihre Vorbilder und eines Tages wollte sie so sein wie sie. Jedoch war ihr Talent in der Arena bestenfalls mittelmäßig. Als die "Chaos Legion" in Praetoria einmarschierte, ergriff sie die Gelegenheit und verbündete sich mit diesen. Anschließend nutzte sie ihre hohe Position aus, um eine beachtliche Kartensammlung zu erhalten. Mit ihrem perfekten Deck dominiert sie nun sowohl innerhalb, als auch außerhalb der Arena.

Das Artwork gefällt mir recht gut, die lila bzw. pinken Farben passen sehr gut zur Chaos Legion, mit der sich verbündet hat, und auch die erbeutete Kartensammlung findet einen guten Platz im Artwork. Anhand des Artworks und Namens würde ich Chaos Battle Mage aber eher als Magic Attacker einordnen.

Denn anstatt eines Magic Attackers ist Chaos Battle Mage ein Ranged Attacker, dafür aber ein recht guter meiner Meinung nach. Nicht umsonst kostet die Karte acht Mana. Außerdem gehört sie zum neutralen Splinter, hat einen ordentlichen Speedwert und dank des einen Armorpunkts ist die Karte in der Defensive auch nicht schlecht. Auf dem ersten Level besitzt Chaos Battle Mage die Ability Piercing und auf dem nächstem Level kommt noch Rebirth dazu.

Vom Summoner Prophet Rosa würde Chaos Battle Mage am meisten profitieren, da sie dadurch noch einmal zwei Ranged Attack erhält. Mit der Piercing Ability würde sie das zu einem starken Angreifer machen.

Eine andere neutrale Karte, die gut mit Chaos Battle Mage harmoniert, ist Venka the Vile, welche einen starken Melee Attack und ebenfalls die Pierce Ability besitzt.

Eine ähnliche Variante wäre Chaos Battle Mage gemeinsam mit Rush Townsend zu spielen. Auf dem dritten Level erhält dieser ebenfalls die Pierce Ability und dank Ambush und dem hohen Speedwert der beiden Karten, könnten schnell gegnerische Ziele eliminiert werden, vor allem wenn diese Armor haben.

Frigid Wolf

Frigid Wölfe durchstreifen die Tundren, Taigas, Bergwälder und andere subarktische Biome Praetorias. Sie jagen in koordinierten Rudeln, isolieren ihre Beute und umzingeln sie, bevor sie sich auf die Jagd begeben. Ihre Loyalität ist schwer zu verdienen und noch schwieriger zu brechen. Wenn sie jedoch als Jungtiere gefangen werden, können sie zum Jagen, Patrouillieren und als Wächter ausgebildet werden.

Ich muss sagen, dass ich das Artwork dieser Karte nicht so toll finde, vor allem mit dem Hintergrund, dass es eine legendäre Karte ist. Es ist einfach ein stinknormaler Wolf ohne irgendwelche Besonderheiten, bis auf die roten Augen eventuell, welche auch nicht wirklich zum Life Splinter passen.

Im Spiel gehört Frigid Wolf zu den legendären Karten, die nur ein Mana kosten und somit sehr billig zu spielen ist. Die Kombination des Melee Attacks und der Ability Charge, sodass von jeder Position aus angegriffen kann, machen die Karte zu seinem billigen Angreifer in den hinteren Reihen. Wenn man Frigid Wolf mit den richtigen Karten kombiniert ist er meiner Meinung nach nicht zu unterschätzen.

Auch wenn ich meinen Summoner nicht speziell auf Frigid Wolf ausrichten würde, profitiert er am meisten von Elias Max Pruitt dank des Melee Attack Boosts und dem Armorpoint. Außerdem wäre die zweite Alternative der Abilities unter Umständen ebenfalls förderlich für Frigid Wolf.

Die Kombination Janni Rebel mit Frigid Wolf wäre eine starke, dank der Inspire Ability von Janni Rebel. Frigid Wolf kann dann aus der hinteren Reihe mit einem verbesserten Melee Attack angreifen.

Auch hier wäre Venka the Vile eine gute Karte, da sie, genau sie wie Frigid Wolf, ebenfalls die Charge Abillity besitzt und so beide Karten aus der hinteren Reihe angreifen und Schaden anrichten könnten.

Letzte Worte

Dadurch dass ich im letzten Beitrag bereits Gallicus vorgestellt habe und Chaos Battle Mage die einzige legendäre neutrale Karte aus diesem Set ist, haben wir dadurch das Life Splinter und das neutrale Splinter abgeschlossen. Vor allem Chaos Battle Mage finde ich sticht heute heraus. Ich spiele die Karte tatsächlich recht häufig. Aber auch Frigid Wolf ist mit den richtigen Kombinationen, wie ich es bereits erwähnt habe, definitiv nicht zu unterschätzen.
