1UP - A New HIVE Outpost For PlayToEarn Blockchain Games And NFT Assets
A new Hive-Engine token has been created, called ONEUP. It powers a new outpost community called 1UP, which is dedicated to the blockchain gaming market with its PlayToEarn mechanics, as well as the power of NFT assets.

We are seeing a disruption in the gaming industry, with the rise of the likes of Axie Infinity and Splinterlands. People are starting to replace their 9-5 jobs with PlayToEarn alternatives. This trend is still in its infancy but is growing quickly by the day. Splintertalk with its SPT token is leading the way but is limited to Splinterlands. There are other games on HIVE and beyond and it is getting increasingly difficult to learn more about all these PlayToEarn opportunities, that are popping up like mushrooms.
Besides earning crypto in-game currencies, they are merging with NFTs in forms of rare assets that even create yield just for owning them. And others sell images for millions of Dollars so that even people outside of cryptos have heard of NFTs, as everybody is talking about it.
To find and reward that kind of content on HIVE we came up with the idea of a special community for it: 1UP with the ONEUP token.
You can find our own outpost frontend on 1up.zone.
As you can see, there are many posts from Splinterlands on our frontend right now, because we automatically follow the #spt tag. I am the third largest SPT holder and operator of the @monster-curator account, the largest curation service on Splintertalk. The synergy is beautiful and good Splinterlands authors will start earning ONEUP easily!
But also other communities like Axie Buzz or #dcity (which we also follow the tag), will be able to shine on 1UP.
And as soon as we start curating #oneup content, the trending page will become more diverse and feature a broad spectrum of blockchain gaming and NFT assets.
The Future Of 1UP
This is just the beginning. We, the founders, want to develop bridges for NFTs to other blockchains, starting with Aspire, where we created NFT Studios and build our own game ChiFiBots. We want to both bring our assets from there to HIVE and vice-versa. 1UP can become the marketplace the easily swaps assets between your games.
But to really bring value to 1UP we are looking into GameFi, to implement ways to reward owning NFT assets. There are many overlaps with the LeoFinance community and their focus on financial topics and 1UP with the focus on PlayToEarn and NFT assets. A CubFinance for NFTs? Let us all figure this out together.
Personally, I see 1UP as a gaming community that can build cool stuff for itself. LeoFinance has shown how some dev work can result in amazing value for the token. We certainly plan to follow the same path. And Hive-Engine has created tools like Liquidity Pools and a DAO feature for Outposts like 1UP, with its own inflation pool for proposals. It was never easier than today to put our heads together, dream big and build the 1UP YOU want to see.
Tokenomics
We are issuing a total of 10 Million ONEUP tokens, in four installments every six months. Founders, investors and all reserve accounts will get the first 25% now. The last installment will be paid in 18 months from now. Below is the total distribution after 18 months:
- 4x Founders: 20% (500k each)
- 15x First Round Investors: 20% (133,333.33333333 each)
- Second Round Investors: 5%
- Sell Wall: 5%
- Marketing: 20%
- Reserve (Bounties, Airdrops): 30%
We have activated the new SMT contract for 1UP, which is replacing the old ScotBot on Hive-Engine.
Inflation is set to 7.5 million tokens for the first year (which is 100% of the issued supply after one year). This will drop over time. Author and Curation reward curve is set to linear, payouts are 50/50 author/curators and 100% liquid.
The main tag is #oneup and additionally #nft, #nfts, #spt (Splintertalk) and #dcity. I tried to call more game tags but for whatever reason I could only set tags with 5 letters or less.
Upcoming Airdrops
We will release a series of different airdrops and rewards for people who participate in the 1UP community. We want to attract people who are builders and should be rewarded with a proper stake in ONEUP. We have reserved a large chunk of our supply for that. Stay tuned for more details.
Not The Same 1UP
If you were here four years ago, you might have followed my 1UP idea. It was meant as an alternative voting system for STEEM at the time but never was fully realized.
The new 1UP Outpost and its ONEUP token is not affiliated with the old 1UP project on STEEM in any way.
The only overlap is the name, the open source pixel logo that came out of a user contest years ago, as well as me being the head behind it again.

Watching the crypto game space is just mindblowing. I'm heavily in Splinterlands right now but I can't wait to leverage that to build into some of these other communities. I'll be following along with 1up for sure.

Splinterlands posts with the #splinterlands tag automatically are eligible for both SPT and ONEUP. But if you write about another game, make sure to use #oneup as a tag as well.
Looking forward to it. There is already some great splinterlands content out there and i will hopefully add a bit more to that going forward.
Since the place is going to get swamped with spt content it will be interesting to see if we can get other game communities to come and get involved too. The community has the right backing and with a little dev work could be brilliant.

Yes, it's similar to splintertalk, but aimed at all blockchain/nft/p2e gaming, instead of just Splinterlands. The beautiful thing is that posts tagged for #spt will automatically show up on both front-ends :-)
I love this project @flauwy! Play2earn is going to be huge and it will be nice to have a place where all content around this topic is bundled. I just used the tag for the first time on a guide (Link) I made for Clash Of Streamers which is the other NFT game I'm heavily into aside from Splinterlands.
Any chance there will be a project like @monster-curator where it's possible to delegate 1UP tokens for those that want to get involved without the time to actively curate knowing the front page will be better because of it.

I apologize for my ignorance on the topic as I just learned about 1Up from someone and found your post. Is this front-end only for use with games on the blockchain or is it gaming in general? I would like to expand to posting blockchain games, but I have not yet.
Also congrats on such a big move! Even from a non-blockchain gamer, there is a ton to be excited for... the airdrops, the future of 1Up, etc.

This is a really great initiative. Finding ways to build bridges between blockchain games and collaborate is the way forward. I am fairly new to Splinterlands myself and without a huge amount of FIAT to invest in the game, I know I am late to the party. Enjoying the gaming though and buying the odd card on the market. Looking forward to having a community where we can bring everyone together and learn more about the gaming options out there, especially those that are new in development too. I vaguely remember an earlier incarnation of this on the old chain and had earned/bought tokens for it. Are those going to be translated to this new incarnation as an airdrop?
No, not really, since this is an entirely different project, with different people (except for me) and a different purpose (hence the disclaimer at the bottom of the post).
But I would be willing to privately refund the STEEM spent back then and pay it now in HIVE (not touching that other chain anymore). I just looked it up and saw that you paid 71.429 STEEM.

I was also an early investor in the initial 1up. It had around 50 bucks worth of Steem invested . I remember @preparedwombat was a top backer also. I think there were around 5 of us that invested more than 20$ in the initial support. Not much I know but I was disappointed around how I got nothing in return. So when I saw it back up and running I was thinking positive again only to read the disclaimer. I do think you should make right with the backers of the last Fundition in order to have a clean sheet on this one whether to give the refund of the initial investment in Hive or just give out new tokens to the value. I have no ill will against you whatever you decide but I think it would be the right thing to do.
You are right, I should make a clean sheet. The main investor back then was already paid back but I have never dealt with the Fundition campaign. I have now refunded all original donators of the Fundition camapaign in SWAP.HBD. I am sorry that the old project didn't work out. But we will make this 1UP even better!

Sorry, I didn't know until now about this 1UP project. I am actually puzzled how I came up with this token in my wallet. Now, I got it. Though small, I am thankful for the incentive given to my Splinterlands content. Re-blogging for review and future reference.
