SOCIAL MEDIA CHALLENGE - CARD PURCHASING THIS MONTH : LV.3 LOBSTRADAMUS (STATS & ABILITY REVIEW)

Introduction

Greetings Fellas,

I'm very happy to share my idea about Lv.3 Lobstradamus after purchased the card a week ago. In this post I will write about :

Lobstradamus stats and skills
How Lobstradamus skills benefit in some rule sets
Where to put Lobstradamus in line up

Alright guys, Let's get started!

Stats and Skills

Level 1 - 2

At this early stage, Lobstradamus has Shield ability which can reduce Melee or Ranged attack from opponent's monster. He has very high health point (9 at Lv.1 and 10 at Lv.2) as his mana is only 6. These 2 abilities are the reason why Losbtradamus is best suited as a Tank monster. We can play this Lobstradamus at any league.

Shield	Reduced damage from Melee and Ranged attacks. Attack value gets halved (and rounded up) before damage is dealt. Cancel Redemption damage.

Level 3 - 4

At this medium level, Lobstradamus has an additional skill, Magic reflect. The skill is very nice and makes Lobstradamus able to resist or counter any type of attack. He can reduce melee and ranged attack while returning magic from magic monster. Lv.3 has 11 health point while Lv.4 has 12, this makes Lobstradamus became much more stronger water tank.

Magic Reflect	When hit with Magic damage, does reduced Magic damage back to the attacker. Deals damage equivalent to the attacker's damage divided by 2, rounded up. The damage is reflected even if the attacker does not hit.

Level 5 - 6

At this maximum level, Lobstradamus has an additional skill, Thorn, which makes him the perfect water tank to counter any type of damage by opponent monster. His Thorn ability will give 2 damage to melee attacker, his magic reflect will return magic to magic user, and his shield will reduce melee and ranged attack. To be honest, these are insane skills!

Thorn	When hit with a Melee attack, does damage back to the attacker. Has an upper cap of 2.

This kind of ability resembles Lord Arianthus (Legendary Tank monster). The difference is, Lord Arianthus can not attack the enemy and his health point is way lower than Lobstradamus. Here is the Lord Arianthus stats :

The only difference is Lobstradamus doesn't has Void to reduce magic attack, but there won't be issue since we can put many Silence monster to reduce magic attack.

How Lobstradamus skills benefited in some rule sets

#1. Back to Basic

In Back to basic rule, Monsters who has high speed, high attack and high health point are in advantage because in this rule no ability nor skill can be utilized. Since Lobstradamus has very high health point. he is suitable monster to be put as a tank in this rule set. His additional 1 magic attack will be very helpful too since no Void nor Magic reflect can be used in this rule set.

#2. Earthquake

Non-flying Monsters take 2 Melee damage at the end of each round. Some tips to deal with this rule are using Brighton Bloom, Flying monster, monster who has self healing ability or Shield ability because Shield will reduce the earthquake damage to 1 only. Lobstradamus is one of an option since he has Shield ability even at Lv.1.

#3. Reverse Speed

Monsters with the lowest Speed attack first and have the highest chance of evading attacks. At this point, Lobstradamus is benefited from the rule since he has 1 speed even until maximum level. Actually, even in not reverse speed, his 1 speed would not be a problem since his attack is magic. and magic never misses its target. So, Lobstradamus will always attack first in reverse speed rule set.

#4. Fog of War

Monsters lose the Sneak and Snipe abilities, so there are 2 type of attack direction that the opponent will shot to our line up. Straight forward to the tank monster (1^st position) or opportunity attack but most of the battle in Fog of war always attack the 1st position monster. At this case, Lobstradamus is the right choice, because we don't need monster with "Taunt" ability to make opponent attack Lobstradamus. Lobstradamus is benefited because we can set many tank heal monsters for Lobstradamus. we can also use silence and amplify monster in order to receive less damage and return more damage to the enemy. In other words, we know that the opponent is going to attack Lobstradamus so we need to protect him and make him better in returning opponent attack.

#5. Target Practice

All Ranged and Magic attack Monsters have the Snipe ability. The way Lobstradamus benefited from this rule set is all magic and ranged attack of opponent monster will go to Lobstradamus if we put him in 2^nd position. All we need to do is just use Silence and Headwinds monsters to reduce magic and ranged attack. For example if we set monster who has Headwinds ability and put Lobstradamus in 2^nd position and enemy has monster with 2 damage ranged attack, his damage will be 0 since both headwinds and shield ability reduce the ranged attack by 1. Pretty amazing right?

Where to put Lobstradamus in line up

In general, Lobstradamus is best to be put in 1^st position since he has high mana with only 6 mana cost, Shield ability and Magic reflect. However, We need to put him in the 2^nd position in Target Practice Rule set in order to be able to reflect magic or reduce the ranged attack. The last option is to put him in the 6^th position in Super Sneak Rule Set (for High Mana Only). This is intended to reduce all the melee monsters who will attack the monster in the backmost.
