Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Ruleset Rumble
Good day to my fellow Splinterlands players. Challenge today is ruleset rumble. Luckily I came accross to a battle few minutes ago with a very nice ruleset that I am inspired to write about.
Ruleset for this battle are as follows below:
Briar patch or I like to call it "Thorn" all units have thorn, return 2 damage when hit by a melee attack.
As much as possible I try to avoid using melee with this rule, unless my card has deflect ability that crosses out the thorn rule. And another exception is if the melee card has a lot of armor. Sometimes I ignore the rule of thorn even if I don't have the two exceptions I mentioned when I don't have a choice like in all melee rule, and when I only have few option of cards to play. I know some players ignore this as well like I do. But for this battle I chose to be careful and with the mana cap of 43, there are lots of cards to choose from.
2nd of ruleset is Lost Legendaries, the cards availabl are narrowed only to common, rare and epic. Meaning I cannot use bellowmance, since its my favorite card for my backline. But the good thing about this rule is Barashkukor will not be available as well, a taunt ability card for my backline will be safe. With that in mind, I already have thought of using Umbra Elemental at the rear and sure to use as well is Warborn Shaman along with Lorkus since it is my favorite archon, and magic damage cards will be my best option as well since thorn is included in ruleset.
Moving in to the final ruleset Equalizer. Now this favors my Lorkus ability because of its Life Leech, Ignoring all the other ability that the opponent may have I know that I have advantage in this battle. Unless he uses Lorkus as well. Having in mind of Umbra Elemental and Warborn Shaman, I know that I have to use Arachne Weaver because of Equalizer ruleset and its corruted healing ability. Now I already have the Umbra as sacrifice cards at rear end then Arachne and Warborn as 4th and 5th card which I will give the life leech ability. Another card that I always use with Lorkus is Shadowfey Shiek since it has life leech ability on itsel. Now I only have 2 cards missing, sscrificial card as well, and what else would it be, the 1 mana with 6HP Halfling Refugee and another magic card Fenmoor Gordon just the exact mana to fit on my team.
The puzzle of ruleset and teams composition has been solve. This preparation happens in just over 2 minutes, that is why I like Splinterlands, its like a chess trying to read your opponents next move. Sometimes I win somtimes not, but its okay. Part of the game is to learn from loosing. And while I may have my own strategy, when I lost in battle I'm still learning from opponents move. With all the sets release by Splinterlands, we contuniously adapt to new ability, new ruleset and new meta. Previously my favorite ability is using melee with sneak and oportunity ability and hate magic damage wayback. But with new modern I feel like magic has big advantage. Thats is why I am sticking to using it. And my difficulty ever since is the low mana cap.
I will not go into details of my battle. Im lucky to have pull this one. Heres the battle link below.
