Handling Fog of War Ruleset with Life Leech and Healing Ability
Greetings to all my fellow players around the world and to Splinterlands. How are you all doing Splinters? Hope you are all doing great.
Last time I post about the new modifier Global Warming, its a difficult ruleset, much much more difficult than the Noxious Fumes. Theres nothing so far that we can do to contain the burning effect, I can only name a few to have an advantage over the enemy like the tank/self heal, triage, life leech, scavenger, painforge and I don't know what else😊. But always have faith no matter what the circumstances sometimes luck favors us.
For my new post in Community Engagement Challenge I am going to talk about my favorite ruleset, since last time is the difficult one.
Naming a few that I enjoyed the most are:
- Are You Not Entertained?
- Deflection Field
- Equalizer
- Weak Magic
- Fog of War
Among those five I've mentioned, I am picking Fog of War to talk about today.

Basically this ruleset is only for frontal attack. The sneak and opportunity ability of melee unit will not work here, unless they are range and magic unit, but, it will always strike the enemy's unit in first position. The same goes to unit with snipe ability. While scattershot is somehow difficult to counter in this ruleset, its most unlikely be use by most of player because the damage will be spread to different unit that end up not killing at all.
For our new players this are my tips can help you handle this ruleset. There are lots of ways how to handle this, like placing a unit with high health in first, second and third position, and putting the damager behind them. If you add some healing abilites like self heal, tank heal and corrupted abilities then your line up will definitely be strong.
But of course there are other things to consider like the mana capacity of battle or there are other modifier that comes along with Fog of War, so try to play a different combination of archons and unit on different element just be aware of the timer not to loose because you run out of time. I always do this to come up the best line up possible.
I will show how one of my battle how I handle this Fog of War Ruleset.
Its a 51 mana cap, its where I am strongest and probably most of you as well, for the sake of this post in handling Fog of War lets just ignore the other two ruleset. For those following me you already know that I will pick Lorkus, the dual Archon of Fire and Death element.
My enemy is none other than UEYUEY, he is monster in bronze level. He also chose Lorkus so we are thinking the same strategy of using the life leech and healing ability and magic damage. We both use tank with magic defense, Warborn Shaman and Fizbo the Fabolous is present to both our team as well, they have void armor and tank heal respectively. His advantage is he has an extra unit with life leech while I have a unit with corrupted healing. Almost the same strategy, we'll see the outcome in few moments. Affliction is also a factor in this battle, but it is not guaranteed that it will work since it has only 50% chance to apply.
Take note new players the combination of life leech and heal is very good in Fog of War, by placing the card at the backend, it will accumulate health by stealing life in every attack it lands to enemy therefore big advantage towards the end game for the team that has big health plus the healing ability.
Early rounds belongs to my enemy, with only 2 units left in my team while he still have 3, this is where my lifeleech and healing units will take over. The affliction favors me, while his did not apply immidiately. Breaks of the game towards the end.
I was able to pull this win with the combine life leech and healing ability, and I wouldn't count out the luck towards the end of this battle.
