Adapting to Equalizer and Need For Speed Ruleset
Greetings to all my fellow players around the world and to Splinterlands. How are you all doing Splinters? Hope you are all doing great.
Ruleset or the Splinterlands Modifier is one of the basics that we need to understand in game. It changes a lot in the battlefield. Lets say for example that I am a player who likes to use the magic damage but the ruleset pops out "magic reflect" or "weak magic", suddenly my style becomes difficult to play, putting me at disadvantage if I stick to my usual line up. Another example is I am a physical damage type of player who uses sneak and opportunity ability to target enemys backline but the ruleset says that "all units have thorns ability"(briar patch) or "fog of war" then the battle goes against my gameplay. That is why this weeks Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge is all about all about cracking the code of Ruleset Riddles. It is important to be versatile and have a deep deck, analysing the battle will not be enough if I don't have enough cards to choose from to adapt to this modifiers.
The battle above will be my participation in this challenge. Its a bronze level deck vs max level cards. I think this is the first time I fought with max level, I had encountered a lot of mixed of near to max level but not like this one. Please like and share to spread the word and reach gamers that are not yet playing Splinterlands. Lets go and analize the battle how did I come up a strategy and even defeat a larger player.
💡 Community Question: Which ruleset do you find the hardest to play—and how do you adapt your lineup when it shows up?

in Need for Speed, we can only summon unit with at least 3 speed. The difficulty of having this modifier is that it narrows down our choices of card that has a minimum speed of 3. The advantage of having a wide collection of cards are a good example of this ruleset. Am I going to pick just the card with 3 speed? Nope! Because the speed will be a big factor in here so picking a Unit with swiftness ability which will add 1 speed to all allied units. Going first to strike the enemy will give me an edge, who knows I might get lucky to take down a few cards of my enemy by going first. It happen a lot from my previous battle and it can certainly happen again.

in Equalizer Ruleset, the health of all unit is equal to the highest to either teams unit with the highest health. Buff and debuffs can alter the health. This modofier gives us a chance to use cards that normally have low health but has a very good damage. How can I use this ruleset to my advantage? Well there is a lot actually that I can think of, first is the tank heal since health of all unit will be high, triage heal will also be useful so even if enemy uses sneak, snipe or opportunity ability it can heal the teams backline, second is the scavenger to accumulate health for every unit that has been killed in the battle, and the third is the life leech which increases health by 50% of damage dealt (rounded up).

My enemy as I mentioned above has max level cards so all stats are magnified already, has fairly good speed, has a tank heal in one of his unit, and he is very clever to use the sneak attack to target my backline which is my source of power. Perhaps he had a peek on my previous battle. He really was able to kill one of my backline my most powerful card, Barashkukor, but thats the only one he was able to, all my other five units was left standing in the end.
As I mentioned above, A very good example of units to use in need for speed ruleset is Silverleaf Warlock with swiftness ability. While on the Equalizer Ruleset, I was able to take advantage of this low health unit Continuum Seer, Hodlor, Inept Healer, Chaos Evoker. My team had a boost from Lorkus tactic ability plus 1 magic damage and life leech which I granted to Baraskukor and Chaos Evoker.
I hope I was able to give new players a little idea on how to deal with the ruleset riddles.
