I agree with you. Our background and environment may influence us, but at the end of the day, it’s still our choice how we turn out. We’re not tied to our past or genes.

Well.... The tendency to behave in a particular way, to look like we are is molded by our genes.
It is correct that our choices determines the output of our behaviours.
