'Filthy Beautiful Lies' is a series containing four books with each of them having different plots, setting and characterisation. I have never read Kendall Ryan books before but this particular series was recommended to me by a friend on Goodreads, so I delved into it. After I finished reading the whole series, I wasn't disappointed. That is the word I am going to use.

I will be reviewing all the four books in the series in two posts and giving my opinions about the books. Starting with the first and second books.

Book 1

This book was published on the 18th August 2014 with 309 pages. To me, this book is a romance genre that you can't put down and go for a walk or go walk your dog. It is so intense that you can't put it down because you have to keep reading to see it to the end.

Now, the first book concentrated on the two main characters; Colton Drake, multi billion business man and Sophie Evans, a young who has been backed up in a corner to auction herself out as a sex slave for a period of time to be able to get money for her twin sister's surgery who was about to die from cancer. Sophie had no choice but to auction herself out. Her pimp assured her that she would be more expensive because her virginity was still intact which means higher bid, more money.

Sophie went ahead without her parents' knowledge by lying to them. The auction began and men with nefarious minds came to the illegal underground auction and began to bid for her. Sophie was scared for her life until Colton bids for her at a high price that none of the sloty men could afford, one million dollars. Colton appeared to be a monster to Sophie at first due to his intimidating physical features. But what Sophie didn't know was that Colton never liked Virgins but her innocence poked something inside of him to bid for Sophie so as to save her from a bunch of sadist men who were bidding for her. Colton went home with her and didn't make any attempt to touch her. Now the question is, did Colton let her go at the end? You have to read the book to find out.

My Opinion, recommendations and Rating.

I love how Kendall wrote this first book by making Colton first appear to be bad luck for Sophie. I enjoyed all the suspense and twists of the story, she did a good job. Her twists at the end of book one made me tasty for book two so I couldn't wait to know what actually happened with Colton and Sophie. The romance aspect was quite, em, haha intense and very much graphic (keep away from children. My suggestion).

Her descriptive language was fantastic, the storyline was well written with intense twists and suspense. Also the setting was well narrated and as I read the book it was like I was in that particular world. I recommend this book to intense romance lovers and it can also be good for contemporary romance lovers too.

My rating for this book is 4.5 stars. The book cover did justice to the story itself and it did give up the real content of the book. I will commend Kendall on that. Next, the second book.

Book 2
Filthy Beautiful Love

This book was published on the 19th September 2014 with 314 pages. It concludes the story of Colton and Sophie. Paying one million dollars for Sophie at the auction, Colton didn't realise that he would fall hard for Sophie, but he did. At the same time as Sophie was battling for the survival of her twin sister in the hospital, so was Colton fighting hard so that he wouldn't lose her because she learnt that Colton was a married man but separated and hasn't concluded his divorce yet.

Along the storyline, Sophie lost her twin sister Becca to cancer. It was a terrible loss for her, but Colton stood by her all the way. After Sophie had mourned her sister, she revived her relationship with Colton because that is what sister wanted before dying, her happiness. The relationship got more intense and deeper that Colton eventually proposed to her and she said "yes" to the man of her dreams. Did they eventually get married?

My opinion, Recommendations and Rating.
The second book was given a deserving ending which I was happy about. At the end I got to see how the two main characters ended up. The writer also explored their relationship in every aspect like trust, passion, sexuality, friendship and love. There wasn't much suspense and twist in this particular book but the storyline didn't lack flow.

The setting and plot was well written and narrated. The ending was well resolved, the romance aspect intensed and graphic. The book cover will get a 4.5 star from me because it depicts a hint about the book.

I will be recommending this book to romance lovers and I will rate it with a 4.5 star. It was worth my time. One lesson that I learn from the two books is that what comes up will always come down and life will always bring up struggles along the line but are we ready to wither the storm without comprising? We all react to challenges in different ways.

Me too is a lover of books. But Don't get that much time now.
My daughter who is turning 3 in a few days don't let me, she keeps me busy most of the time, if by chance I take book in my hands to read she takes it away saying mumma it's my book, I will read it's mine 😄😄 so better I keep safe my books away from her. May be when she starts her school hopefully March/April I will have some time for myself 😆😆

It is a very interesting book. Books with such well constructed theatrical storyline can be riveting and the two books look like what you'd watch in a cinema.

Great review.

The storyline is absorbing.

It looks like one that'd have a happy ending though. Like Sophie and Colton get married and bla bla bla,
Not my thing 😅
