Splinterlands Social Media Challenge - The Power of Captain Katie
Hey Splintermates, what is going on? Like Eminem says: Guess who is back š¤£. After a long time being offline from blogging, I have found again time after the kids are in sleeping.
However, you should know that I have been playing actively Splinterlands on the phone, it“s my relaxing time and love this game.
I have been resting, but I have seen that the Splinterlands team still keeps pushing hard and we have again an active Splinterlands Social Media Challenge where we should share an exciting Splinterlands moment.
This week, I had an amazing battle that I am going to share with you. If you read the title of my post, you will know it“s about Captain Katie.
Captain Katie is a Gladiator rare card. In my opinion and you will agree with me, it“s one of the most OP Gladiator card. You can play her under most rulesets (except little league) and she has already 3 Magic attack at lvl 1.
In my case, I am playing Splinterlands already since 2021, so I have her at lvl 4. She has an amazing 4 Magic attack with 3 speed and her most important ability: BLOODLUST.
There are two ways to get Captain Katie: One way is via Guild Brawls, where you earn juicy merits after each Brawl that you participate. Or via merits that you get with glint (opening chests or just buying directly some merits).
From my previous posts you will remember that the most OP ability for me is the BLOODLUST. Every time Katie kills one enemy, thanks to BLOODLUST, she gets +1 in every ability. Also it“s important to note that she has the snipe ability. This means, that she always targets the non-melee monsters.
If I ask you to name one Gladiator card, for sure Quora will be the number one. And for sure there will be other names prior to Katie, but her power is for sure on the top.
CAPTAIN KATIE vs QUORA TOWERSHEAD
In the battle I am sharing with you, Captain Katie will face the terrible Quora Towershead.
This battle is a modern ranked battle and there is just one ruleset: Need for Speed.
There are some keys in this battle: THe power of Katie, the healing ability of Venari Crystalsmith and the tanking ability of the Chaos Knight.
Round 1 - Powerhouse vs Powerhouse
If you have a look at the battlefield, you don“t know who is going to win the fight. Quora is a monster tank with self healing and combined with the taunt card Mycelic Slipspawn, she can do 4 damage to my tank.
Round 2 - Defense into Offense
There is a well known tactics in the NBA, that says: Defense into Offense. And this is the principle I have used in this battle. I have put a nice tank on the front with a support healing card (defense) and then Katie to deal huge damage (offense). Katie starts doing some damage to the taunt.
Round 3 - Taunt down, stats up
Captain Katie has been able to take down the taunt has gained +1 in all abilities thanks to Bloodlust. The enemy has just Quora that deals 2 magic attack and 1 melee attack (due to the shield ability). My Venari is able to heal the tank, so we are safe for now.
Round 4 - Bye bye Quora
Captain Katie has been able to take down the Chaos Agent (thanks to the Snipe ability) and has already 6 magic attack. The rest of the team has been also hitting Quora, so she has only 5 health points left. Katie does one shoot and Quora is down š.
Thanks for reading until the end and let me know what other gladiator cards you think are underrated and see how I can use them on the battlefield.
