Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! - FRONTIER is so addicted

Hey Splintermates, what is going on? I know that a big number of Splinterlands players are going to be on holidays while reading this post, so I hope you enjoy these days and get some rest 😎.

Estebam keeps pushing generating excellent posts from Splinterlands and in this post, I am going to share some exciting moments while participating in the Splinterlands Social Media Challenge proposed by the team.

It´s amazing how our favourite game keeps growing with new cards, land, but as well as with new game modes. If you have been reading my latest posts, I shared with you the new game mode developed by the team called FRONTIER mode.

Since this game mode has been released, it has been very addictive to launch battles and get some nice new cards. It´s also awesome to see so many Splinterlands players participating in this new format. Have a look to my battle history to find lots of well known players.

Since I started playing, I have been able to collect some cards from the foundation set. And I even won a nice Gold Foil New Beluroc Aegis. As you will know, I play in a Gold Foil fray, so I love getting GF cards as a reward. Please have a look at this beauty 🤠.

I love playing this game mode, as the battles are really quick, at least in Bronze 🤣. Cards have rarely abilities, so there is no option to heal, repair or rebirth units. Once the battle starts, it ends in a few rounds. This is super quick.

Currently I am placed in rank 621, so there is still a way up to go. However, as you might see in the picture, I have a winrate below 50%. With this winrate, it´s being super difficult to climb up. I don´t think my opponents have better cards than me, FRONTIER just started. But I am not being able to identify the meta.

But don´t worry, ESTEBAM will keep playing this new format and be sure that I will rank up the following seasons. What I also love a lot of FRONTIER is that it´s a skill based format. This means that most players have same cards and that you will need to show how good they really understand this game to win battles. It´s like CHESS.

To finish this post about the new FRONTIER format, I would like to share with you my recent battle and the new reward card I got.

ROUND 0 - Lets check the ruleset and the battlefield 😎

As you can see below, the battle has 48 Mana (pretty high for Bronze League) and two specific rulesets: Blood and Sunder & Explosive Weaponry. These rulesets mean basically, that everytime a Melee monster hits his enemy will loose 2 shield and the second ruleset means that all cards have blast ability.

Due to this extra ability, I have decided to go with the Fire archon, as it provides +1 speed. It´s very important in this game to attack first, as you will deal the extra damage of blast earlier and you will be hitting his adjacent units.

ROUND 1 - Let the fireworks begin 😈

All my units will hit first and will do a tons of damage, as you will see at the beginning of round 2. Please have a look at the damage 🤓.

ROUND 2 - Keep pushing team 😰

The enemy has defeated some of my troops, but he had more shield during round 1. But now, as he has lost his shield, my team is going to push very hard. Lets see how it is going to start round 3 after all the blast damage. Specially from by back line firing with 2 ranged attack.

ROUND 3 - It is going to be hard 😰

Both teams have lost a lot of units. This always happens during the blast rulesets. All units do big tons of damage. However, my team is going to attack again first. And this is going to be the key to get this battle😏.

ROUND 4 - GG MATE 🤝

At the end of round 3, both teams have two ranged attackers. This means, that only the unit at the end will attack. He has only a 1 range attacking unit, while my ranged unit attacks with 2. It´s GG 😉.
