Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: Welcome to the Frontier!

Hey Splintermates, what is going on? Estebam is still on holidays and I can find some time to write some posts for my Splinterfans😁.

If you have been away for some time in Splinterlands or if you have been tracking this game, but never have done the step to play this amazing game, now you have an incredible opportunity.

In order to share this news to the world, the Splinterlands team has proposed a new Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge where we have been asked to share the new game mode called FRONTIER.

Before starting with the new format, please let me explain you that Splinterlands has been a Play 2 Earn game with an investment behind. In order to earn juicy rewards like SPS, Reward Cards or Soulbound reward cards, you were required to buy a Spellbook. The Spellbook isn´t a big investment, but if you want to start improving your deck, you will need to spend some $.

This has been my strategy during years, I have been buying some amazing cards. If you are new in this game or a current player, I will leave you a screenshot below, so you can check some of my legendary cards.

But now, the good news is that Splinterlands has become a Free to Play game thanks to the FRONTIER game mode. Lets have a look😎.

CAMPAIGN MODE 🤓

But before starting the new game mode directly, I recommend you to start learning the game mechanics via the Campaign mode. Splinterlands is a pretty complicated game with lots of cards and abilities that you will need to learn how to use them depending on each ruleset. For that, the team created the Campaign mode to run through the different scenarios. It´s a very useful tool that every new player should take advantage of😏.

In addition, the good news about the campaign mode is, that you will start earning cards that you can use for the FRONTIER format. Every time you succed in the campaign mode, the game provides you with cards. These cards are under the FOUNDATIONS set. But ESTEBAM, where is the campaign mode? You will find it under the PLAY button. The screen that will pop up will look as follows:

For your information, I have run through all chapters, except the last two. So I still have some work to do 😜. I am have been playing this game for years, but I need to tell you that the campaign mode with the interactive videos and conversation with Splinterlands Lore monsters is much fun. And now I own all these cards:

So spend some time to get to know the game and earn some nice cards while fighting against monsters in the Campaign mode😎.

FRONTIER GAME MODE

The campaign mode was released already a couple of weeks ago (maybe a month or so). But as mentioned above, the team has realeased the FREE TO PLAY game mode called FRONTIER.

It is a separate game mode from the previous MODERN, WILD & SURVIVAL modes. It has it´s own energy system and ranked leaderboard.

In this game mode, you are only allowed to play with cards from the FOUNDATION set that you earn by playing the campaign mode and later, while playing this new game mode. But HOLD ON. The cards that you earn in this game mode, they ARE ALLOWED in MODERN & WILD. Isn´t that amazing?

In this new mode, the Splinterlands team has designed a new battlefield to show that is a different game mode. If you are a current player, you will notice that these are all new cards, so I still need some time to familiarize with them and understand the new meta of this game mode😅.

In the battle shared above, I managed to beat my enemy. I am still in BRONZE 3 League in this format, so I will need to fight myself through these low leagues and climb up. By playing, I will get some nice reward cards. To be honest, I haven´t checked if there are going to be SPS or GLINT rewards in higher leagues by playing this game mode. I don´t think so as it´s a FREE TO PLAY mode.

However, it´s an excellent way the team has managed to share this game to the world, so people can start getting addicted (as all current Splinterlands players) before jumping in with investements.

I love the idea of separating the energy system, so we can even play more and more our favourite game called Splinterlands.
