Splinterlands Community Engagement Challenge: A Guide to Increasing Card Levels by Combining Cards
Hey Splintermates, what is going on? New Years Eve is over, but here I continue. I am not going to wait 365 days to be with you like the 31st of December š.
Once again and as the Splinterlands teams knows that the player community is willing to help, we have been asked to prepare a support article and prepare a "Guide to Increasing Card Levels by Combining Cards".
Wait! You are Splinterlands players and you are still not participating in these challenges? You should try to grab some time and share with the rest of the world this amazing game. We need to catch new players and bring them into the Splinterlands Universe.
Aahh, OK. You want to participate, but you donĀ“t know how to do it? ItĀ“s very easy, please go to the following Challenge proposed by the team and try to prepare your guide. Estebam is always there to provide supportš!
A Guide to Increasing Card Levels by Combining Cards
I have already seen a bunch of guides that explain what the team is asking, but my idea is to follow the 4 key ideas below:
1- Where to find your owned cards in Splinterlands.
2- How to combine cards.
3- The benefits of leveling up your cards and also where to find the stats of each card.
4- Which cards you should prioritise.
5- Strategies for acquiring extra cards to combine.
1- Where can I find my cards?
The very first thing each Splinterlands player needs to know is where to find its owned cards:
GO to the ITEMS button between "OPEN" and "GUILD".
Where it says PLAYABLE, select the option of OWNED.
- In my case, you can see below the Collection Power that I have 438.000 and some of the cards I own.
2- How do I combine cards?
Now that you know where to find your owned cards, lets see with an example how to combine them. It is obvious, that to combine cards, you will need to own more than 1 cardš š¤£. Just in case.
- CLICK on the card where you have more then 1 copy. The card will be highlighted showing 2 or a higher number as per below (black arrow and circle). In my case, I will do the example with CHIMNEY WALLSTOP.
- Once you have selected the card, select the available cards (highlighted inside a black circle) and click on the + button (highlighted with a black arrow).
- Once clicked, the game will show how the card is going to improve and/ or how many cards are left to go to the next level. In the picture below, you can read that my CHIMNEY WALLSTOP is at level 5 and I will still need 37 additional cards to get level 6.
- Click on **COMBINE ** and there you will have your first combined card!
3- The benefits of leveling up your cards and also where to find the stats of each card.
Splinterlands is a long term game if you donĀ“t have infinite founds. So you will be progressively increasing your deck. You will start first with low level cards and you will combine them to get better cards with better stats. But where do you find the stats of each card?
Just click on the card you want to check and click the STATS button (highlighted in black)
In the picture above you can see that CHIMNEY WALLSTOP can go up to level 10. In each level, all cards get stronger. This particular card, at level 5 gains the Repair ability and at level 9 the Strenghten ability.
ItĀ“s very easy to understand: The higher level, the stronger the card is.
Just for your information, the card you are watching is a Gladiator card that can only be bought with Merits. These merits can be get via Guild Brawls or chests. If you donĀ“t have any Guild and would like to join one, just let me know.
4- What cards should I prioritise?
This is a very difficult question to answer from my side. Assuming that you are a new player, I would recommend you start focusing on Rebellion cards. Why? Because to play in Wild you will need to pay the Wild Pass every 2 weeks. You donĀ“t need to pay anything to play in Modern.
It is true that Chaos Legion cards are pretty cheap right now, but there is going to be a big change in a few months and Chaos Legion will leave its place to CONCLAVE ARCANA.
I have put below pictures of Rebellion summoners (the cheapest ones) that you should start focusing on š.
5- Strategies for acquiring extra cards to combine.
If you have read until point 5, I am going to tell you one of my biggest secrets of Splinterlands. There is one webpage called @peak-monsters that allows you to track prices and also place bids to your favourites cards.
This Splinterlands related platform allows you to buy cards with a certain amount of discount if you are pacient and can wait some time. You just need to find a seller that accepts the price you are offering.
In the picture above you can see DOLFAR DARFLAK, a Rebellion set summoner that I have recommended in point 4. You can make a bid or if you want to buy it directly, you have also that option.
I strongly recommend you to have a look at https://peakmonsters.com/ and spend some time checking what cards are available and also at what prices.
This is the END. I hope this guide provides you help to understand more how this game works and in case you have any doubts, please leave a comment and I will come back to you.
If you would like to be my first referral, please use the following link and we will all see the 3Ws! You WIN, Splinterlands WINS and I WIN!

Peakmonster works better than official game site?
Also can I place bids for rental? I'm checking more about cards renting. I need to pay by Dec only?
Hey mate, at Peakmonsters you can place bids, this is not something that you can do on the official game site.
And as you can see on the picture, you have also the option to set bids for rentals.
Regarding payment, you have the option to pay in DEC or credits. Credits is basically the FIAT money (dollars or Euros) that you put into the game. You know how to do it?
