Getting Back Into Gaming

avatar

I have been taking a hiatus with gaming lately because my old Alienware, that I've had for years, suddenly crapped out on me a few months ago. I still haven't figured out the issue, mostly because I haven't cared too much to fix it, but for now I'll be using my sister's computer for a while. She also has an Alienware but its a significantly newer model. My Alienware was created back in 2013 (I think). I would like to get another computer, but I'm holding off on that for another half-year. It just isn't a priority now, unless I can get more people to subscribe and watch some videos on YouTube and on Rumble.

So for now, I'll be recording and editing whenever I can that way I don't take too much of an advantage of using my sister's computer. My sis is always trying to help me out, so I'm feeling pretty good on doing a small reboot of the channel.

Alienware (and Precision) desktops from that era have some weird problems. Sometimes they can be resolved by reseating memory. Sometimes by replacing the CMOS battery (definitely worth at try). Otherwise, it's probably a bad motherboard.

I have already replaced the CMOS battery on the Alpha R1 (the broken Alienware), but it seems I'm having hard drive failures. It's a pretty old computer. I'm not surprised it crapped out on me after so many years of regular use.
