Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenge - Deeplurker
Hey folks 😁 Graham here.

Welcome to another Splinterlands Weekly Battle Challenge. Here is the original post if you want to enter a battle yourselves.
This week we are featuring the excellent common water monster called Deeplurker!
This is one of my favourite cards from Chaos Legion.

Terrifying to behold, Deeplurkers are a poisonous fish that dwell at the bottom of the ocean and prey on the weak. However, they are known to travel to the surface in times of dire need. Many believe that they are sensitive to the balance of elemental water magic and, when that balance is in danger, the Deeplurkers rise to attack or defend it.
This is a brilliant Common monster who could easily be a Rare or even an Epic with these great stats and abilities.
I use this card all the time in my water battles and he never lets me down.

Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: COMMON
Element: WATER
Attack: MELEE
Abilities: Opportunity at level 1, Poison at level 6 + Demoralise at level 10.

The price of this card is very cheap now at only $0.27. I believe this will rise dramatically over time especially when the Chaos Legion packs run out! !
I currently have a level 4 card for the extra hit point but i really want to get to level 6 for the Poison ability.
I intend to buy a few Gold Foil cards as an investment to sell later also.

This is a 21 mana level battle with all splinters allowed except for Life + Dragon.
I have 4 cards in this battle against 4!
Water vs Earth
Ruleset = Unprotected + Up Close and Personal.
Unprotected - Monsters do not have any armor and do not get any armor from Abilities or Summoner Buffs. Protect, Piercing, Repair, Rust are useless. Focus on a tank with high HP and Heal.
Up Close and Personal - Only Melee attack monsters may be used in battle.

Alric had became my favourite summoner recently mainly because of his +1 magic ability but not in this battle due to the ruleset which means only melee attack so its all out brute force for this one!
The choice was simple...

This has became my go to tank for all my water battles with his high stats and amazing abilities including healing and thorns he is unstoppable!

In second place we have the featured monster Deeplurker. He is here to provide support to my tank. Luckily he has the opportunity ability which allows him to attack from any position.
He is sure to do considerable damage with his -5 hitpoints!

This monster is here as he was my only choice of a melee card who could attack from any position due to the opportunity ability again.
This great 0 mana card i won in a pack recently can fit in anywhere! He is here simply to take a hit for the team!
As the warriors enter the arena we get our first look at the enemy and i am fairly confident of a quick victory!
Thorns is always worrying when you have all melee cards but my opponent's monsters are only level 1 so i should be good.

Round 1 begins well with Sea Monster getting a hit in to the enemies tank before Deeplurker destroys Ureas.!
My Torrent Fiend monster is then killed by Venari Scout as expected!
Next my Feasting Seaweed monster is taken out by Goblin Thief!
The round ends with the enemies tank Mycelic Infantry getting a hit in at Sea Monster.

Round 2 begins with the enemies tank Mycelic Infantry being destroyed after taking hits from Sea Monster + Deeplurker.
Both remaining monsters attack Sea Monster before the round ends.

Round 3 begins and Sea Monster immediately retaliates by wiping out Goblin Thief!
The final round ends with Deeplurker obliterating Venari Scout!
Its carnage on the battlefield.!!!
This really is a great monster and i will continue to level him up as much as I can. I will definitely use him in a similar line up again.
If you sign up with my Referral Link and purchase the Summoner's Spellbook i will delegate you 5 cards to help you get started. At least one of these will be rare or higher.
☮️ Graham.
