Hello, Splinters Fanatics!
Splinterlands is a dynamic card game. The Battle rules are largely responsible for this dynamic, they are responsible for dictating the course of battles by restricting certain monsters, nullifying certain abilities or adding abilities to all monsters. This week's Battle Mage Secrets is about the Ruleset Going to Distance.

The wizard's secret to the Ruleset Going the Distance is to have a diverse collection of cards with damage Ranged
and Summoners that can help by buffing or debuffing this type of damage.
When this Ruleset was implemented, there was a need for more cards with Ranged damage . The Splinterlands team has done a great job of implementing rulesets so that players can use cards that were rarely used or even forgotten about in the collection.
The first strategy is to use monsters that have the ability Close Range , which allows Ranged damage monsters to attack from the first position. There are a few cards with this ability, but my favorite is Queen of Crows, because it has a lot of health.

Archers are generally very offensive, but most of them have low health. That's why you need to choose tanks with a lot of health, in order to give your rearguard more time.
To spice up battles with this Ruleset, you can use units with the ability Headwinds , which reduces Ranged damage
by (-1), and the ability Return Fire
, which returns part of the Ranged damage back to the opponent.
Best Summoners
Since you can't choose any other type of unit than Ranged , there are two obvious possibilities: to increase your power or to weaken your opponent.
If you want all your units to attack from the first position, the best option is to choose the Summoner Fernheart, which grants all allies the ability Close Ranged . And the Earth Splinter has excellent options for Ranged damage units.

But there are excellent summoners to use in this situation. Among them, there are those that increase ranged damage, those that decrease the opponent's ranged damage, and those that return ranged damage.

The battle took place in the Silver League, in Modern mode, and featured the following Rule Set: Going the Distance , and Fog of War
. Splinter Life and Dagger were available, as well as having only 25 mana.

Meanwhile, I chose the summoner ILTHAIN, who returns part of the ranged damage. My opponent chose the summoner QUIX THE DEVIOUS, which reduces the ranged damage of our units.

Below is our line-up strategy:

![]() | In second position I chose DRYBONE RAIDER as my main tank, which has Melee and Ranged damage, as well as the double attack ability. |

![]() | Finally, VENARI CRYSTALSMITH is scaled and has the ability to heal the tank in first position. |

In the first round, what we noticed was that our attack power was reduced, as was our speed. Quickly, VENARI MARKSRAT was eliminated and then our DRYBONE RAIDER tank came into play. Our tank has had its stats increased, so it has a total of (6) melee damage, adding up its two attacks. I hope our tank can withstand all the opponent's damage.

In the second round, only one attack from the enemy tank ended up eliminating DRYBONE RAIDER. And as our rear unit has low health, the result of the defeat is now to be expected.
Unfortunately, even though we chose a good Summoner for this situation, we lost the battle. The opponent's strategy was more efficient and defeated our team.
Today's post reveals some of the battle mages' secrets for the ruleset Going the Distance . There's no secret to this ruleset, just use a Summoner with good synergy to buff or debuff the monsters on the field. Or, to return part of the damage with the ability Return Fire.

O segredo de mago para o Ruleset Going the Distance é possuir uma coleção com diversidade de cartas com dano Ranged
e Invocadores que possam auxiliar dando buff ou debuff neste tipo de dano.
Quando este Ruleset foi implementando sentir a necessidade de possuir mais cartas de dano Ranged . A equipe de Splinterlands fez um ótimo trabalho implementando ruleset no sentido do jogador utilizar cartas que eram pouco utilizadas e até mesmo esquecidas na coleção.
A primeira estratégia é utilizar monstros que possuam a habilidade Close Range , que permite que monstros de dano Ranged possam atacar da primeira posição. Existem alguma cartas com essa habilidade, mas a minha preferida é Queen of Crows, pois ela tem bastante saúde.

Arqueiros são, em geral, bastante ofensivos, porém grande parte deles possui baixa saúde. Por isso, é necessário escolher tanques com bastante saúde, a fim de dar mais tempo a retaguarda.
Para apimentar batalhas com esse Ruleset, pode-se utilizar unidades com a habilidade Headwinds , que reduz o dano Ranged
em (-1), e a habilidade Return Fire
, que retorna parte do dano Ranged de volta ao adversário.
Melhores Invocadores
Como não tem como escolher outro tipo de unidade, a não ser do tipo Ranged , existem duas possibilidade obvia aumentar nosso poder ou enfraquecer o oponente.
Caso você deseje que todas as suas unidades ataquem da primeira posição a melhor opção é escolher o Invocador Fernheart, que concede a todos os aliados a habilidade Close Ranged . E o Splinter de terra possui excelente opções de unidades de dano Ranged.

Mas, existe excelentes invocadores para utilizar nessa situação. Dentre eles, temos os que aumentam o dano ranged, o que diminui o dano ranged do oponente, os que retornam o dano ranged.

A batalha aconteceu na Liga Silver, no modo Moderno, e contou com o seguinte Conjunto de Regras: Going the Distance , e Fog of War
. Os Splinter Vida e Dagrão estavam disponível, além de contar com apenas 25 de mana.

Enquanto, eu escolhi o invocador ILTHAIN, que retorna parte do dano ranged. Meu oponente escolheu o invocador QUIX THE DEVIOUS, que reduz o dano ranged de nossa unidades.

![]() | Por fim, VENARI CRYSTALSMITH é escalada e possui a habilidade de cura o tanque que esta na primeira posição. |
Venha Conferir a Batalha!
Na primeira rodada, o que percebemos é que nosso poder de ataque foi reduzido, assim como a velocidade. Rapidamente, VENARI MARKSRAT foi eliminado e tão logo entrou em cena nosso tanque DRYBONE RAIDER. Nosso tanque teve suas estatisticas aumentadas e com isso ele possui ao total (6) de dano melee, somando seus dois ataques. Espero que nosso tanque consiga resistir a todos so danos do oponentes.

Na segunda rodada, somente um ataque do tanque inimigo acabou eliminando DRYBONE RAIDER. E como nossa unidade posteriores possuem pouca saúde, então o resultado da derrota agora é o esperado.
Infelizmente, mesmo escolhendo um bom Invocador para esta situação perdemos a batalha. A estratégia do oponente foi mais eficiente e derrotou nosso time.
No post de hoje foram revelados alguns segredos dos magos de batalhas para o Conjunto de Regra Going the Distance . Este ruleset não existe segredo é só utilizar um Invocador que possua uma boa sinergia, para buff ou debuff dos monstros no campo. Seja, para retornar parte do dano com a habilidade Return Fire.
