Fun fact: in Earth there are more species of beetles than any other creature. The number reaches 250k. A beetle can carry more than 850 times of his own weight. Maybe they are as strong in real life as in Splinterlands!

Curiosidade: na Terra existem mais espécies de besouros do que qualquer outra criatura. O número chega a 250 mil. Um besouro pode carregar mais de 850 vezes seu próprio peso. Talvez eles sejam tão fortes na vida real quanto em Splinterlands!

CRYPT BEETLE

Even leveled up he doesn’t gain any new abilites, except for the one he already had since level 1: Shield.

Shield is very useful against teams that uses a lot of Melee/Ranged monsters and it is often combined with Demoralize (such as Disintegrator) ability in order to neutralize the opponent’s attack resulting in a zero damage attack. Also, it is a great ability against Thorns and Earthquake, which will reduce the damage by one.

Just to clarify how Shield works: Reduces the damage from Melee and ranged attacks by half (rounded up) before damage is dealt. For example:

• A monster with 1 attack deals 0 damage
• A monster with 2 attack deals 1 damage
• A monster with 3 attack deals 2 damage

Mesmo subindo de nível, ele não ganha novas habilidades, exceto a que já possuía desde o nível 1: Escudo.

Escudo é muito útil contra equipes que usam muitos monstros corpo a corpo/à distância e geralmente é combinado com a habilidade Desmoralizar (como Desintegrador) para neutralizar o ataque do oponente, resultando em um ataque de dano zero. Além disso, é uma ótima habilidade contra Thorns e Earthquake, que reduzirá o dano em um.

Apenas para esclarecer como o Shield funciona: Reduz o dano de ataques corpo a corpo e à distância pela metade (arredondado para cima) antes que o dano seja causado. Por exemplo:

• Um monstro com 1 ataque causa 0 de dano
• Um monstro com 2 ataques causa 1 de dano
• Um monstro com 3 ataques causa 2 de dano

RULE SETS

Good Choice:

• Equal Opportunity: most people use melee monsters in this rule set. Therefore, Crypt Beetle is a great choice if he can be the monster with lowest health or at least the second one. Besides that, he doesn’t need to be in position 1. To put it in another way: it is a good strategy pick monsters with low health and high armor such as Enchanted Defender as a bait while the rest of the team do the real damage.

Igualdade de oportunidades: a maioria das pessoas usa monstros corpo a corpo neste conjunto de regras. Portanto, Crypt Beetle é uma ótima escolha se ele puder ser o monstro com menor vida ou pelo menos o segundo. Além disso, ele não precisa estar na posição 1. Colocando de outra forma: é uma boa estratégia escolher monstros com pouca vida e alta armadura como o Defensor Encantado como isca enquanto o resto do time causa o dano pesado.

• Equalizer: if the mana cap is low-medium, we usually want to focus in numbers picking low mana (0 to 4) monsters. As the mana cap rises we want to start picking monsters that costs 5 to 8 Mana, but with low/medium HP, such as Fire Elemental and Ancient Lich to benefit them gaining high HP.

Equalizador: se o limite de mana for baixo-médio, geralmente queremos focar em números escolhendo monstros com mana baixa (0 a 4). • Little League: Costing only 3 Mana he is a decent tank in low mana battles and especially Little League since many monsters doesn’t have an attack greater than 2 in this Rule Set.

• Lost Magic and Up Close & personal: the main weakness of monsters with Shield or a lot of armor is Magic Attack. Without mages your opponent will have to face Shield ability with Melee/Ranged monsters which will be tough!

• Reverse Speed: being a common card + melee type, he is very likely to be one of the first to attack.

• Super Sneak: put him in the 6th position and he will probably survive at least 3 attacks and it will also contribute attacking the enemy.

Bad Choices

• Noxious Fumes: he will die very quickly.

• Vapores Nocivos: ele morrerá muito rapidamente.

• Unprotected: he will lose an important part of his attributes worthing like a 2 Mana monster.

Desprotegido: ele perderá uma parte importante de seus atributos valendo como um monstro de 2 Mana.

Position: 1 (as a Tank), 2 (Secondary Tank) or 6 (To Protect against sneak attacks).

Posição: 1 (como tanque), 2 (tanque secundário) ou 6 (para proteger contra ataques furtivos).

LINEUP

In this match I had to choose between Watter 💧, Earth 🌿, Life 🌟 and Death☠️ Splinter. The Rules Set were Equal Opportunity + Holy Protection with 32 Mana.

THADDIUS BROOD
I noticed that my opponent picked Mylor Crowling in his/her previous matches, therefore I didn’t want to pick a heavy melee team that I usually do with Water and in case I face mages I ended up choosing Death with Thadius Brood.

Percebi que meu oponente escolheu Mylor Crowling em suas partidas anteriores, por isso não quis escolher um time com muitos monstros de ataque corpo a corpo, o que costumo fazer com Água e caso eu enfrentasse magos acabei escolhendo o elemento Morte com Thadius Brood.

CURSED WINDEKU
To possibly give a taste of his own poison, my main tank has Thorns as well. I guess the spell turned against the sorcerer. 😆

Para possivelmente dar um gostinho de seu próprio veneno, meu tanque principal também tem Thorns. Acho que o feitiço se voltou contra o feiticeiro. 😆

CRYPT BEETLE
As mentioned earlier, Crypt Beetle is a wise choice in this rule set because he would be the 1st monster targeted for having the lowest health ❤️. Moreover, most people choose a heavy melee team on “Equal Opportunity” so the chances of facing mages are a little bit lower, so it might go sideways in a low frequency.

Como já mencionado, Beetle é uma escolha sábia neste conjunto de regras porque ele seria o 1º monstro alvo por ter a menor quantidade de PV ❤️. Além disso, a maioria das pessoas escolhe um time corpo a corpo pesado em “Igualdade de Oportunidades”, então as chances de enfrentar magos são um pouco menores, então pode dar errado com uma frequência baixa.

VENARI BONESMITH
I was expecting debuffs such as demoralize, Shield and the Divine Shield of the rule set, in order to counter these abilities Poison 🐍 is a great choice!

Eu estava esperando que o oponente utilizasse monstros com habilidades de desmoralizar, Escudo e o Escudo Divino do próprio conjunto de regras, para contra atacar essas habilidades Veneno 🐍 é uma ótima escolha!

DARK FERRYMAN
Since I didn’t have much mana left, I wanted a monster with good damage 🏹 and HP ❤️, he fits very well in this filter. Also has Cripple ability

Como não tinha muita mana, queria um monstro com bom dano 🏹 e PV ❤️, ele se encaixa muito bem nesse filtro. Também tem habilidade Aleijar.

MAGI NECROSI
His Camouflage ability is a good counter in Equal Opportunity since he can not be targeted in the backline and will do a great damage of 3.

Sua habilidade de Camuflagem é um bom contra-ataque em Igualdade de Oportunidade, já que ele não pode ser alvejado na linha de trás e causará um grande dano de 3.

SUPPLY RUNNER
I was expecting a lot of melee monsters so increasing their Speed with Swiftness is a good way to dodge some valuable attacks. Besides that, it is also of great importance to attack first in Equal Opportunity Rule Set.

Eu já estava esperando muitos monstros corpo a corpo, então aumentar sua velocidade com rapidez é uma boa maneira de evitar alguns ataques valiosos. Além disso, também é de grande importância atacar primeiro no Conjunto de Regras de Igualdade de Oportunidades.

THE BATTLE

I was concerned about facing Mylor and that happened. Gladly I picked only two melee monsters (one with Thorns and other with Shield and my opponent went for full melee (Except Furious Chicken which was a good choice since it would take two hits to kill due to divine shield with 0 mana).

Eu estava preocupado em enfrentar Mylor e isso aconteceu. Felizmente eu escolhi apenas dois monstros corpo a corpo (um com Espinhos e outro com Escudo) e meu oponente foi para corpo a corpo completo (exceto Galinha Furiosa que foi uma boa escolha, pois levaria dois golpes para matar devido ao escudo divino com 0 de mana).

Key points of the battle:

• The +1 on speed 👢 made a huge difference allowing my monsters to dodge some attacks and also kill Unicorn Mustang 🐴 on round 2 before he could attack.

• Crypt Beetle had a big role in the battle. He absorbed on total 3 attacks (2 from Grund + 1 Mycelic Infantry + 2 of Thorns), dodged twice and dealt 4 Damage.

• I think my opponent should have placed Mycelic Infantry in the 2nd position instead of 4th

• Windeku also did a great job absorbing 3 attacks (1 from Unicorn Mustang and 2 from Grund) dealing 6 damage on total and also attacked two times.

• Venari Bonesmith applied some poison when hitting Divine Shield which was huge!

Pontos-chave da batalha:

• +1 de velocidade 👢 fez uma enorme diferença permitindo que meus monstros se esquivassem de alguns ataques e também matassem o Unicorn Mustang 🐴 no round 2 antes que ele pudesse atacar.
• Crypt Beetle teve um papel relevante na batalha. Ele absorveu um total de 3 ataques (2 de Grund + 1 Infantaria Mycelic + 2 de Thorns), esquivou de 2 ataques e causou 4 de Dano.
• Acho que meu oponente deveria ter colocado a Infantaria Mycelic na 2ª posição ao invés da 4ª
• Windeku também fez um ótimo trabalho absorvendo 3 ataques (1 do Unicorn Mustang e 2 do Grund) causando 6 de dano no total e também atacou duas vezes.
• Venari Bonesmith aplicou um pouco de veneno ao acertar o Escudo Divino que era enorme!
