Share your Battle challenge: Pelacor Arbalest

image.png

This weeks monster for the share your battle challenge is the Pelacor Arbalest. This OP damage dealer is a standard pick in my life team. The only downside is the low health and no armor. Therefor you need to be sure to protect him from monsters with opportunity, sneak and as in the battle that follows the snipe ability.

As for the battle, you can find it here. If you want to hear more about the line up, read on further.

The ruleset

The ruleset for this battle is Target Practice (all monsters get Snipe) and Stampede (Trample can trigger multiple times).
Stampede is not very relevant in Silver League as long as Deamonshark is not in play. So I only could work with Target Practice. There were 2 options. I could go only melee with Fire, so the opposing team didn't have any profit of the Snipe ability.
The other option was to use the Life splinter myself and go all in on the ranged attacks. This time I went for the second option.

Because it is a high mana battles I could go all out with my monsters.

The line up

For my tank in the first position my main choice is Uriel the Purifier. Mainly because he has lots of armor and HP. And because my Uriel is level 2 it also has Heal.

As for the second and third position I have high health monsters to absorb some damage and defend my backline monsters. My picks were Warrior of Peace, also to nerf their melee is they went for an only melee team. My other pick was Silvershield Sheriff. Both are just level 1, but because of their high health very effective in this situation.

In the fourth position I put Supply Runner. This one is indispensable in a Silver League Life team, mainly because of the Swiftness, which just gives you an extra edge.

In the fifth and sixth postion I put the main damage dealers. First the Pelacor Arbalest, which is a absolute beast in combo with General Sloan. In the backline I put Prismologist, mainly because she has 2 armor, this way the Pelacor Arbalest is better protected against Sneak monsters. And besides that the Prismologist deals massive amounts of damage as well, especially with Target Practice.

Round 1
Seeing the opposing team, it looked like their positioning is a bit odd. Especially the Ancient Lich, which will be attacked first, since all monsters have Snipe. So I liked my chances.
The armor of the Prismologist was able the defend against the Sandworm attack, so she could live another round.
Besides that no real harm was done to my team and their backline took some serious damage.

Round 2
In the second round the Sandworm was able to finish off my Prismologist, but not before she finally finished off their Harclaw which was able to absorb all my damage in the second round.
My Warrior of Peace is still absorbing all the damage from Magi Necrosi.

Round 3
In the third round I was a bit lucky that my Pelacor Arbalest went before my Silvershield Sheriff taking out the Gorlodon. This way the Silvershield Sheriff was able to kill of the Magi Necrosi before the Sandworm could kill my Pelacor Arbalest. Not that it would have really mattered for the outcome of the battle, but for the Share your Battle Challenge I like it better if the Pelacor Arbalest survived 🙃.

Round 4
The fourth round was over before you could say: "Pelacor Arbalest rules!!!"

My gameplan for this battle worked out really well. The Snipe defence and Sneak defence did great, so my Pelacor Arbalest and other damage dealers could do their job.
