In Search of the Traitor - Horizon Zero Dawn.

In a previous chapter, after defeating a Corruptor, we obtained an artifact that allows us to control creatures called Gallopers and turn them into our mounts.

With this new way of moving around we will be able to travel long distances and visit new and incredible places.

But we can't get distracted either, as my main objective is to get to the city of Meridian to investigate the bandits' attack on the settlement during the test.

Along the way I found all kinds of beautiful landscapes and, although I would like to show them all, I will leave them for future community contests.

In the final stretch we could already see in the distance the huge city of Meridian, which was built on top of a huge cliff. To one side a slender tower was visible, which is much higher than the city and I suppose it will have relevance later on.

With only a short time to go, a thunderer got in my way and, with much, much difficulty, I was able to eliminate it. Fortunately, this dangerous machine is weak to fire and, if one of the cannons on its back is removed, can be used against it.

Still, you have to be careful because you can lose your life more than once. Being such a formidable enemy, I couldn't help but take a picture of myself next to his corpse.

Arriving at the walled city gates, I am greeted by Erend, who welcomes me and invites me to enter, informing the guards that I have free access. Immediately, I tell Erend that my visit is to find Olin.

I think I forgot to tell you, but Aloy has the idea that the bandits found her through a FOCUS and on the day of the test only Olin had one. Erend, at first, was hesitant because, according to him, Olin was a good man, but he still agreed to accompany me to his house to inspect it.

Olin's house was empty, and although everything seemed to be in order, I found a huge wooden door leading to a workshop in the basement. After pushing some huge metal ingots to fall on the door, it opened.

In the workshop I found several things, but what caught my attention the most was a huge map on the wall on which there were several places marked, and one of them was the settlement. This was proof enough that Olin had helped the bandits. Erend could not believe it and pointed me to a location on the map where I was sure to find the traitor.

Arriving at the marked location, I find Olin in the company of the bandits, several corrupters and other corrupted machines. That place looked like a graveyard of old machines and, from what little I could observe, they were trying to reactivate several machines that had long been buried.

Little by little I eliminated the bandits and with a little more brute force the enemy machines also fell, leaving only the traitor. With my spear in hand I faced him and demanded explanations. Very frightened, Olin confessed that they had forced him to help them and threatened to harm his family.

Aloy was blind with rage and had to make a decision that, although it does not influence the history of the uugo, it does present a moal debate for anyone.
1- Forgive Olin because he was being amnestied.
2- To murder him out of revenge in the name of all those who had killed him.

I, for one, was weak and gave in to violence. Tell me in the comments what you would have done.

This chapter was full of action and emotion! I really liked how you showed the journey to Meridian and the fight with the thunderer. 👍

Thanks my friend. What's strange to me is that the community account itself is not voting for my posts.
