Getting out of the routine - Time to relax in Horizon Zero Dawn.

It can't all be about grind and running around completing missions.

I know it may sound a bit abrupt and perhaps out of place, but my words have an explanation. Although I'm not new to the world of video games, I recently got a powerful graphics card, so for me, games with good graphics are something I enjoy in my own way. That's why this time I'll take a break from the story mode and show you some of my best screenshots, accompanied by curiosities and funny situations to participate in the community contest, which has the theme: Your Best Picks.

I am aware that the grind and the missions are what allow you to advance in the game's story. In my case, when I know I have to leave an area because I have already completed the missions, I take a moment to enjoy and admire the scenery. I do this partly because I'm fascinated by the way it looks and partly as a sort of homage to the developers who went to the trouble of creating those magnificent sceneries, which we often overlook.

It doesn't matter if it's day or night. If I'm not doing some important mission or if I'm not in combat, I take the opportunity to place Aloy somewhere interesting and with a funny pose to take some captures that I might use later in the weekly contests.

There are also times when the game doesn't cooperate and when I try to be calm, enemies suddenly appear, like the time I was attacked by a scrap dealer and every time I tried to hit him, he started jumping around throwing dirt and rocks all over the place. They usually jump, but that one seemed special.

The same night of the attack I approached a small waterfall to take some pictures of Aloy in the water, but I immediately changed my mind. If you look at one of the rocks, something that looks like a burn is glowing and in the game it is called corruption. That spot shouldn't be there, since there were no corrupted machines nearby, and assuming it was some kind of mistake, I avoided getting close.

Another curious thing that happened to me was that, in a secondary mission in which I had to accompany the war girl, I noticed that while I was running behind her, the girl was talking to me. So far there was no problem, if it wasn't for the fact that she ran looking to the side and sometimes looked back as if she was an owl. I guess it was a mistake.

Another time I was on a hill and in the distance I saw some guards facing a Serrated Tooth and it didn't look like any of them were going to win. As I prepared to intervene, I heard a loud crash and when I turned around I was surprised by what I saw.

Not far from me I had a Tempest Bird. These huge mechanical birds are solitary and rarely seen on land, at least I had never seen them. When I had everything ready to take the picture, I passed the game at the same moment that an electric shock was coming out of the back of the bird. I laughed a lot, as I couldn't help but think that it was very much like an electric fart.

The next situation I found myself in was a bit weirder. I was exploring some ruins of the ancient civilization. Suddenly, a voice began to speak to me and I, looking all around, could not find where it was coming from. It was at that moment that it occurred to me to look up to the second floor of the ruins and there I saw a man hiding and he began to ask me questions. For a moment I thought I had encountered an invisible NPC or some other kind of mistake.

As usual, I made the most of my visit to these ruins and took amazing pictures, like the one below. From the top of a building I witnessed the beauty of the open world and how nature reclaimed its territory swallowing all traces of pavement and asphalt.

In the end, this adventure ends where it began. Aloy has progressed far enough and is ready to explore the vast post-apocalyptic world of Horizon Zero Dawn. I'll be back soon to share more of my adventures with you.

I loved how you turned simple exploration into a visual experience. That electric bird moment was hilarious.
