When Paul E. Dangerously Helped Eddie Gilbert Become The King Of Philadelphia

We found this video on this YT channel. Before Paul E. Dangerously became Paul Heyman in ECW, and before he took over the booking under Tod Gordon in September 1993, Paul and Eddie Gilbert had many segments on ECW Hardcore TV going around Philadelphia. Eddie was creating his "King of Philadelphia" gimmick and interacted with fans across Philly in places such as:

• South Street pizza places
• Outdoor fairs/concerts
• Local outdoor cafes
• The outdoor event when Eddie faced off against NFL quarterback Ron Jaworski

Others from ECW in these clips include TV host Jay Sulli, Tod Gordon, the "board of directors" in the meeting with Tod Gordon, Bob Artese, Sandman, Hunter Q. Robbins III, Glenn Osbourne, JT Smith, Stevie Wonderful, and other ECW roster members.

What some ECW fans remember best, though, is not just Eddie Gilbert's Memphis-flavored in-ring product; but the humor Eddie featured on TV, and his sense of humor in person. My personal favorites are the times he went to Philadelphia's South Street and Delaware Avenue's Katmandu club posing as the "King of Philadelphia" in full gimmick.
