ECW Ring Builder And Timekeeper Who Became A Wrestler
Billy Wiles started wrestling in ECW and later changed his name to Bilvis Wesley, an Elvis impersonator gimmick. Toward the end of ECW he dropped the costume side of Elvis, but he retained the name until ECW stopped running shows in early 2001.
He was trained at the Monster Factory in New Jersey and then joined ECW as part of the crew which built and took down the ring at shows; and he also served as a timekeeper. Wiles then had his first match at a house show in Massachusetts losing to Axl Rotten.
Prior to Wiles joining ECW, Mikey Whipwreck worked on the ring crew during ECW's "Eastern Championship Wrestling" era. He then became a wrestler and, ultimately, one of ECW's few "Triple Crown" title holders: Heavyweight championship, TV championship, and Tag Team championship.
During his time in ECW Wiles never held a title, but he was paired for some time with CW Anderson as part of the New Dangerous Alliance - managed by Lou E. Dangerously.
Wiles also wrestled the "dark match" at the company's last PPV event: Guilty As Charged 2001.

I didn’t know about Billy Wiles’ journey. It’s really cool how he went from working behind the scenes to wrestling as Bilvis Wesley. Even without winning titles, he really made a mark in ECW history.
He definitely did his part in those later years of ECW. Since the show needed to entertain fans for 3+ hours every time, his ability to be a workhorse in the undercard got him exposure on the two TV shows (Hardcore TV and ECW on TNN) + a handful of pay per view matches. Not bad for a guy who started off building the ring each night and also served as timekeeper!
