ECW Ring Announcer's Wife's Involvement

Bob Artese - ECW Ring Announcer (thumbnail credit to "This Is Extreme ECW Pod")

Bob Artese was one of the co-founders of ECW (then Eastern Championship Wrestling), coming to Tod Gordon to for financing along with Larry Winters & Steve Truitt (known in ECW as Stevie Wonderful), in January 1992. What is little-known to ECW fans is how involved Bob's wife, Lex, was helping ECW for several years.

Confirmation of Bob meeting Tod for the purposes of starting ECW: https://www.inquirer.com/sports/ecw-arena-tod-gordon-paul-heyman-wwe-wrestlemania-20240329.html

She is listed as a ring attendant, as well as Bob's spouse, on IMDB here: https://m.imdb.com/name/nm5043052/bio/ and here: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm5043052/

A mention of Lex and Bob running the ECW hotline out of their house can be found on this post: http://pwbts.com/columns/b080899.html

Prior to the TWA "One And Done" reunion show earlier this year, Bob & Lex were mentioned as being participants: https://www.pwinsider.com/article/188674/first-22-names-announced-for-twa-reunion-show-at-2300-arena.html?p=1

Finally, an interesting story about Lex. Evidently she is the first person involved in professional wrestling to speak with Francine. She answered the phone about the wrestling school promoted on the local Philadelphia Sportschannel television episodes during the Eastern Championship Wrestling era. Lex told Francine to meet Tod Gordon in his office, a story often told by Francine, and the rest is wrestling history!
