Chris Benoit Interview With Fans At A Hotel Room During His Time In ECW

Found the above video from the Iron-On Wrestling YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@irononwrestling

It shows fans during 1995 at a hotel room with ECW wrestlers, including brief appearances by Mikey Whipwreck and Dean Malenko, having an informal "shoot interview" with Chris Benoit. At the time, Chris was working in ECW and had held the tag team titles with Malenko. He and Malenko also briefly were with Shane Douglas to start the original version of ECW's Triple Threat.

This video shows a different time in pro wrestling, when fans and wrestlers began to interact in ways other than the typical crowd/fan dynamic seen inside the arena. Obviously Benoit is a controversial name, so just consider this interview just as an example of how ECW helped grow fan loyalty in multiple ways and how different the mid-1990's era was.

Remember that most people at that point had never been on an internet browser, and most hadn't even been on the early internet Usenet bulletin boards - including the rec.sport.pro-wrestling (RSPW) group which helped promote ECW early in the online era.
