Bus Trips To The ECW Arena During The 1990's

Many die-hard wrestling fans don't know that ECW used to help organize bus trips from New York - and possibly other locations - to the ECW Arena in Philadelphia for shows. Occasionally wrestlers even joined on those bus trips.
This helped set up the "New York vs. Philly" aspect of fans, occasionally which made ECW's Hardcore TV episodes when the fans would chant derogatory things about the other city. Here are some stories about the bus trips from fan memories:
Thanks to Gabe we had front row seats (Section A, opposite your crew)...and met lots of great fans there (bought too many of those cheesesteaks along the way...lol).
The pre-show chants between my section (mostly all Philly fans) and the upper far corner of NY fans who took the bus down were usually priceless. So many great memories, including at the Travelodge and later at the Holiday Inn as we almost always stayed over and drove home the next morning.
If you liked those chants, you'd have loved the fun outside the building, when the New York fans who ca! me in through organized bus tours got in before Philadelphia (and othe r) fans standing in line outside, sometimes in boiling or freezing weather. More than a few um....typical Philadelphia fan chants got thrown at those buses, along with beer cans and other things.

I got tinnitus when Sandman made his return to the Arena after his WCW run. Fans went apeshit. I don’t remember any beer but I was too young to drink. They would bring in pizzas from somewhere nearby and sell the slices. A bus would bring in fans from NYC, they’d get shit talked but I never saw an actual fist fight in the crowd. The chants were unbeatable. I went to an ROH show there after ECW was gone, tried to start a chant, everyone looked at me like I had 3 heads, so I never went back until legends conventions years later. -- https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/mhg7jj/comment/gsyz58r/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

First, on behalf of Tom Misnik, myself, and everyone involved in putting
together this convention I'd like to express a huge THANK YOU to everyone
for the advanced ticket sales to the entire BACK TO THE EXTREME weekend so
successful! Due to the number of last minute registrations we are now at
capacity for both the Bus trip to the Flagstaff Sports Bar next Friday
night and for the room at the Q&A session on Saturday. For that again
-- THANK YOU!
The deadline for tickets to everything has now passed and unless you
have already made special arrangements with Tom there will be no further
entries to the list of those at the Q&A session or on the Bus trip. We're
at capacity now and unfortunately, some of the last minute people who
expressed interest in the convention had to be turned down due to the
enormous turn-out and interest in the convention.
The good news is that tickets will still be avalible at the door at both
the and through the normal ECW outlets for both the Friday show in Jim
Thorpe and the Saturday show in Philly. While getting tickets from these
outlets won't get you into the Q&A or onto the bus -- they will get you in
the door to 2 great shows and you should have some fun with your fellow
fans of the ECW -- so get 'em now and join us for the Back to the Extreme
weekend!
