Social media challenge looking at elves
π Splinterlands Social Media Challenge! π
Hi everyone, I'm @easilykilled and last year I returned to Splinterlands after a long break, I enjoy the opportunities in web3 and crypto and have been a long-time lover of all things TCG. Today for the weekly social media challenge I want to spend some time looking at one of the bloodlines introduced in the new Conclave Arcana set.
Follow along as I continue my journey in Splinterlands and the hive blockchain.
π¨ Ruleset
This match challenge had a mana cap of 49 with the following rulesets: Fog of war, Reverse speed and Close range. Here's a quick rundown about the ruleset and what splinters were available:

- Fog of war: Units lose Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity
- Reverse speed: Units with the lowest speed attack first and have the highest chance to evade attacks
- Close range: All units have Close Range (can use ranged attacks from the first position)
- Splinters available: Water | Earth | Life | Death
My Team
For this challenge, I decided to go with the new earth archon who happens to be an elf, this allows me to use earth units and units from the available splinters that share the same bloodline, a big consideration in this match is the ruleset of fog of war, in my mind both me and the enemy would be trying to put as much magic/ranged damage in the backline behind 1 or 2 high health/armored tanks. Here's a breakdown of my team:
- [Kaylia Silverleaf]: Our earth archon, providing -1 magic attack to enemies and provides execute to all our elf units
- [Mantaroth]: Mantaroth is in the tank, a very strong legendary unit with armored strike, shield and some decent stats.
- [Thanalorian Scion]: Putting Thanalorian Scion in the 2nd position, because she has a very nice ability Void armor and high armor make her a good tank back up option.
- [Lord Thanalor]: Lord Thanalor is an elf, and at lvl 1 has 10 HP, and 3 magic damage. (very strong)
- [Blackmoor Wild Elf]: We put our blackmoor wild elf next, she is a very strong rebellion reward card, I wish I had her at a higher level.
- [Rune Arcanist]: We have Rune Arcanist next a great promo card, which at level 1 provides Weaken, which lowers the enemy health by 1.
- [Satha Toledo]: Satha Toledo is our last minion, they provide some healing. In this match I put her in to hopefully keep our tank a live a few rounds
Opponent team
Now, let's take a look at my opponent's team. They went with a lineup that used the dual life water archon Prunda Undervesch. Here's what I was up against:
- [Prunda Undervesch]: His dual archon
- [Janni Rebel]: My opponent used Janni Rebel as his tank, a high HP tank with the Flank and inspire abilities which makes him a good tank option as he can have another strong melee unit behind him doing some scary damage.
- [Grimbardun Fighter]: He put Grimbardun Fighter in the number 2 slot, he has shield and corrosive ward, with high hp and can be a useful back up tank
- [Conclave Tracker]: He used a Conclave Tracker, a strong unit with armor repair and opportunity (ignored with the ruleset)
- [Thunderous Herald]: A decent magic damage unit which also has enfeeble which lowers the targets melee power on successful hits.
- [Anasth Soothsayer]: A strong magic damage dealing unit who heals and cleanses, helping to keep your tank alive for longer.
- [Olivia of the Brook]: Our opponent added Olivia of the Brook as his final unit, I believe she was added last in the hopes of her mimic ability stealing some of my abilities.
βοΈ Battle
My opponent strategy was to have 2 tanky units in the first to positions and adding a heal/cleanse and armor repair can be very strong, he also had his Olivia of the brook in his team and might have been hoping to keep his tanky units alive long enough for her to steal some strong abilities.
My strategy with the rulesets in this match was to survive the onslaught by putting strong HP units at the start and let my the elf ruleset add execute ability and hopefully trigger a few times to get through their lineup fast.

π€ Thoughts
I really liked the fact that the new bloodline mechanic means every battle can allow more strategies to be employed, our execute was triggered 3 times during the fight and I have really been enjoying the new mechanics
I was glad to showcase my battle, If you enjoyed this post, be sure to follow me for future Splinterlands challengess. Also, feel free to share your own strategies and outcomes in the comments below!
Until next time, keep battling, keep grinding, keep growing!
