šŸ”® Conclave Arcana Pre-Sale: My thoughts and game plan

The Conclave Arcana pre-sale has officially kicked off, and as of the time of writing this will last for 16 more days.

With all of us Summoners preparing for battle and the Splinterlands world unfolding before us, the team dropped some prompts for this week community engagement challenge which really got me thinking:

šŸ’” Challenge Prompts:

  • What are you most excited about with the release of Conclave Arcana?
  • Any card art, lore teasers, or abilities you're hoping to see?
  • How do you think this set will impact your personal strategy?

So I figured I'd dive into those right here and share my take.

But first let me introduce myself, I'm @easilykilled and last year I returned to Splinterlands after a long break, I enjoy the opportunities in web3 and crypto and have been a long-time lover of all things TCG.

Follow along as I continue my journey in Splinterlands and the hive blockchain.

šŸ§™ā€ā™‚ļø What I'm Most Excited About

What’s got me truly hyped for Conclave Arcana is the introduction of the new set of abilities—a whole slew of fresh mechanics dropping at once. That’s massive. It’s not just a few tweaks to the meta, its an entire shift and all expands on growing the game’s strategic depth.

One ability I’m especially curious about is the one tied to Bloodlines. This isn’t just flavour—it’s gameplay-altering. Bloodlines offer a unique mechanic that allows you to benefit either from empowering your units via Bloodline Tribute or summoning units from other elements Bloodline Dominion, as long as they share the same bloodline as the archon. That means we’re not just building fire decks anymore—we need to start thinking in terms of element and bloodline in our battles an example: fire element with Dwarf's or Shapeshifter, this brings a greater connections between cards.

This opens us up to cross-element deck strategies in a way we haven’t seen before. Imagine being able to run a hybrid build where a fire minion synergizes with a water minion—not because of their element, but because they share a bloodline. This kind of interaction is what I am most excited to see and will create an insane level of potential for creative deck-building, especially as they continue to expand on these bloodline units in the future.

To me, this is the kind of bold design that makes a card game feel alive and ever-evolving. It's a reminder that we're not just playing matches—we're discovering new ways to play.

šŸ’ Abilities I'm Hoping to See

I have already mentioned 2 of the bloodline abilities above, but I would be remiss not to mention then the new ability Shapeshift: Treated as all bloodlines this ties in nicely to the introduction of bloodlines.

The other ability I cant wait to play around with is the synergies are painforge and reckless.

  • Painforge: +1 power when damaged by Poisoned or Burning or hit by an ally
  • Reckless: Each successful attack also deals 1 damage to adjacent allied units.

✨ My Personal Strategy

With all the changes introduced with Conclave Arcana, I’ve been thinking carefully about how I want to approach things—from the pre-sale all the way through to in-game tactics. Here's how I’m planning to play it smart: but what are your thoughts? Share them in the comments below.

šŸ‘ļøā€šŸ—Øļø Pre-Sale Strategy

My main goal during the pre-sale is to reach the legendary promo minion. For me this will be the first presale I am taking part of and I think its great that buyers are able to get some bonuses for jumping in early. The 2 promo card look great and I will be excited to add them to my collection, as I don’t want to miss out on them, luckily we have still some time and I can grab some more after payday <3

Along the way, I’m also picking up a few Mage Wagons—a bonus I’m especially excited for since I didn’t take part in the earlier Conflict events. This pre-sale feels like a good chance to get involved and potentially win some other great assets in the coming months.

šŸ‘ļøā€šŸ—Øļø Set Preparation

As we move closer to the new set release, I’m shifting my focus to Rebellion cards. Since I primarily play in Modern and Chaos Legion is rotating out, I do not think I have the cards to properly compete in Wild yet so I need to work on future-proofing my collection.

I’m trying to scoop up as many of the Reward cards as I can and level them up before they also rotate out, as well as looking to grab a few Rebellion cards as and when I can—ideally leveling them up and getting more familiar with them. I’ve also been watching the spoiler(eye candy) channel to see what cards are coming in Conclave Arcana and trying to figure out which core Rebellion cards that can synergize well with them.

šŸ‘ļøā€šŸ—Øļø Gameplay Approach

With Chaos Legion leaving the format, the biggest shift in my gameplay strategy is adapting to what’s next. That means diving deep into the current Rebellion pool and getting used to battling without Chaos Legion cards, this is gonna be a big change for me as majority of my cards are from that set.

I plan to start practicing with Rebellion-only cards, even before Arcana drops. The sooner I internalize how these cards play—what their tempo feels like, where their strengths and weaknesses lie—the better positioned I’ll be when Arcana enters the mix and Chaos leaves.

Final Thoughts

What excites me most about this moment in Splinterlands isn’t just the new cards—it’s the massive meta shift we’re about to experience. Chaos Legion has been part of the Modern format for so long that it’s shaped how we think about matches, lineups, and what our opponents have used and impacting our decisions while picking our team.

Now, with Chaos Legion rolling out and Arcana cards rolling in, we’re entering a fresh era of gameplay. I’m hoping to be ready for the shake-up, and honestly? I welcome it.

I will create a post after the presale and we can see if I was able to make my goals

Until next time, keep battling, keep grinding, keep growing!
