Which WWE Superstar or Diva brought the WWE into the mainstream limelight?

Superstar professional wrestlers including The Rock, John Cena, Mick Foley and Andre the Giant have brought the WWE into the limelight.

From the silver screen to fashion lines, charasmatic wrestling stars have added more and more legitimacy to the sport.  What WWE superstar has genuinely opened the floodgates for the sport?

The Rock brought the WWE into movies and shows in the late 2000s in my mind, and he holds this title.  John Cena followed him into movies and advertisements.  What is your take?
