The year is 2074, the world has been plunged into darkness. One girl, Sarah Doe, will learn the secrets of the dark forces that run the ruined world. Scene: Headmistress Matthew’s office, the immortal seven are standing around her desk.
HM: I’ve been informed by one of the other girls that you lied to me. It seems our dear Sarah is very much alive and doing quite well. What do you have to say for yourselves?
OR 1: We… We killed her! I swear! I don’t know who told you they saw her but they are the liar!
HM: No one has a reason to lie to me. All the other orphans believe Sarah died in an accident.
O2: Don’t lie, Rachel. You called off the hunt because we started to forget our mission. That was after you led us in the wrong direction.
O1: I went the way the doctor told me to. I can’t help it if he was crazy!
She turns to Matthews.
No, ma’am, we never found Sarah.
HM: So Sarah wasn’t the only insubordinate little Cretan around here? You’re lucky you girls have been so helpful to me in the months since, I should have you incinerated. Instead, I’m going to give you one more chance. Bring me that hussie’s head on a stick. You will leave in the morning and not return until you have it!
Or (unison): Yes ma’am!
HM: Lieben.
The orphans snap awake. They seem slightly confused.
HM: It’s getting late girls, I enjoyed our meeting but you should be in bed.
The orphans leave, still looking a bit confused.
Scene: Schaub’s office. It’s a small empty room save for a desk and a few chairs. He is going through files on his computer when a man walks in.
Man: Agent Schaub?
Sch: Ah, yes, Carlisle? Have a seat.
Carlisle is stout and red faced. He wears the typical party uniform of a biege shirt and red tie.
Sch: Are your men ready for the mission tomorrow?
Carl: Yes sir, we have all the Intel on Dr. Bureau and we are ready to bring him in for re-education.
Sch: Good. We land on the ground at 0600.
Carl: Just one question.
Sch: Yes?
Carl: From our intel, Dr. Bureau doesn’t seem like a threatening character. Why do we need so many men to bring him in?
Sch: We have reason to believe that Agent Smith’s death was no accident, and we believe that Bureau was the last person to see him alive.
Carl: Smith was assigned to him? What for?
Sch: That’s classified. You only need to know that Dr. Bureau is a dangerous man with much more dangerous associates. You ask too many questions.
Carl: Sorry sir. It’s my first mission as command. And I’ve never re-educated a target down below. It’s just an odd order.
Sch: (This place gets more and more disorganized. Giving me a damn newbie for this? What are they thinking?) Get your men together and be ready by morning.
Carl: Yes sir.
