What am I doing about conflicts?

The conflicts are coming and I admit ever since they added the black foils I expected the chances of me fully participating in them was a very far off thing unless I could get a couple, but, you have to be in it to win it or so they say, in the Rebellion conflicts I was getting between 1 and 2 guaranteed cards and was lucky enough to pull 5 EMP!, currently I'm not sure I will get a single guaranteed drop from Conclave Arcana so we have 5 days to see if we can reach the magic 111,112 points per hour needed to guarantee a card drop in the first conflict. Currently I’m the proud owner of 27 Mage Wagons as, in my opinion, every chance is worth it even if not a guarantee.

My current points per hour being generated from cards is 99,081, which is a lot closer than I actually expected, luckily I have all those 27 wagons already as this would be a much different post if I only owned 2 or 3!

So I have a few options going forward:-

1. Buy better (more CP) cards
2. Add wagons and more cards from my deck
3. Get lucky and pull a black foil in my pack a day (thanks azircon for rubbing it in how much CP a black foil is worth in conflicts with those charts!)
4. Get lucky and ignore the guaranteed chance

Obviously I cant do much about option 3, option 2 doesn’t really make that much difference as I would be adding really low CP (my last wagon currently carries 1,250 CP) and option 4 takes away the option to guarantee I have at least one of each airdrop to play with so option 1 appears to be the only option at present.

As you can see from the numbers above I’m not a massive spender in the game although I have put in as much into Conclave Arcana as I did into Rebellion already, I play around a silver level deck, enjoy it and look at the money I spend here as a fun way to spend my time playing a game – All SPS and DEC received from playing gets put back into the game but I’m not here to make thousands and would probably hold on for much too long and watch it disappear in the next dip anyway!

Anyway back to what I’m here for…

Ignoring regular and black foil for now, these are the points 1 CC of each rarity will provide

Few of ways to generate the additional 12,031 points per hour I need easily would involve buying epic's or legendry's to fill my final wagon.

1. Buy 1 x Gold Foil Legendary from Conclave Arcana (12,500 points per hour)
2. Buy 5 x Gold Foil Epic from Conclave Arcana (12,500 points per hour)
3. Buy 2 x Gold Foil Legendary from Rebellion (12,500 points per hour)

At current market lows we could pick up

1. 1 x Gold Foil Decrepit Windseer for $62.26
2. 5 x Gold Foil Folen Flameye for $53.42
3. 2 x Gold Foil Kei for $75.98

None of those options really jump out as great buys but as a thought process what
does that offer me going forward and what is the “real” cost to me?

We have a few things to consider in this, we could get multiple drops and we need to replace a wagon for each airdrop but we will just assume we only get our guaranteed copy as we could sell additional copies to pay for wagons, what we will ignore for now is the chance that we could get a gold or black foil and the fact that points required will increase with each airdrop. some final assumptions will be that the airdrop card will have a value of approximately $20 and a wagon will cost approximately $5.

Looking at this, I would say that making investment in some additional gold foil epics is a reasonable approach ensuring I have at least one copy of the airdrops so I can ensure my deck has access to them, getting $180 worth of value for my investment and not including the enjoyment I will get from playing with the cards. Spending the $53.42 now is in comparison to having to spend $180.00 to pick up a copy of each of the airdrops through out the year.

I have 5 days to make the final decision and open 5 packs of Conclave Arcana in my pack a day search for a black foil so lets see where we sit at that point, of course if anyone wanted to send me a gold foil legendary it would be appreciated 🤣
