Splinterlands: The Road to Research
So I am pretty late to the party and now research has a use case its time to start producing in my little part of Praetoria.
I looked at the paltry little bit of research I was producing a couple of days ago (0.06 per hour) and worked out it will take me a good few years to produce enough for an Aura Lab permit, and after @davemccoy dropped possible alpha on a live stream with @stever82 and @bebeomega that we may need a similar permit system to use with conflicts it becomes even more apparent that I have slept too long on this.
After that stream I went and added a bit of DEC and improved my research production to 0.2 per hour so reduced my time to 10,000 research to 5.7 years (down from 19)! still a little way to go 😀
I still want to try and be self sufficient and will be reinvesting any DEC earned from resources into my land which currently consists of 9 plots : 3 Grain, 1 Wood, 1 Stone, 1 Ore, 1 Research and 2 Undeveloped.
My frustration with land is when I add some production power I have to take a worker off for 3 days and wait to combine it so I have to be a little strategic so as not to lose production and become less self-sufficient whilst still grow my production, over the next couple of weeks I will need to increase the DEC staked anyway so don’t need to worry about the combining as I have a few empty slots to fill on worksites and I can do that with some lower pp chaos legion cards until I can raise some DEC to buy higher PP cards – a fine balancing act!
General land plan.
Step 1 – Increase staked DEC - currently 65,334/450,000
Step 2 – Increase base production power – currently 63,820/450,000
Step 3 – Increase bonus production power – 5 plots have common totems, 1 plot has
common title.
Obvious plan really but I will have to be aware of at what points buying a totem/title will be better than adding another worker.
My current plan on my road to 10,000 research:
Step 1 – Harvest grain in Lunaden.
Step 2 – Transfer required grain to Harkden
Step 3 – Sell any excess grain.
Step 4 – Harvest wood, iron, stone and finally research.
Step 5 – Sell excess wood, iron and stone.
Step 6 – Reinvest DEC in Harkden.
And repeat 1-6.
Step 7 – Place workers from existing collection – currently 6 empty slots.
Current position with my plots
this is called double posting

I know you likely did it by mistake, next time be a little patient.
Thanks, will do
Is there any way to hide a post from the front ends when you do make this mistake?
Difficult because blockchain is immutable.
Nice to see / read about your plan.. when a plan is written often archived earlier 💪
Agree on that part moving units around is a bit of a hassle as well. They put it in so there is not a very high PP squad of workers clearing the land within a few days hopping around the plots.
I can see why the cooldown for movement is there, to encourage time crystal use, but if we could just combine it wouldn’t make it such a disadvantage for the smaller guys building up steadily who don’t have (can’t afford) max cards to just drop on

Totally agree, I'm in the same boat right now. I just want to move a card from A to B, but now I have to wait 3 days just to do it. And I have to remember to turn it off for the survival bot—don’t place it in a card set! What makes it worse is that I’ve forgotten a few times what I was planning to do 3 days later.
Know what you mean, I’m going to start having to use a journal to track my thoughts on land - part of the reason I’m making regular posts on it
Hopefully it’s on the list of future changes
