Splinterlands: A bigger bucket…

With the addition of Archmage Yabanius to the Arcane insert bucket the chances of getting something “special” in a pack of Conclave Arcana has improved, not a lot but still an improvement.

Previously there were 2,140 Gold Foil Arcane and 855 Black Foil Arcane that would be randomly inserted into conclave packs, the addition of the new promo celebrating 7 years of splinterlands and founder Yabapmatt means there will now be a total of 4,536 cards (up from the 2,995)

At the time of writing (out of date within seconds at the moment) we would be calculating chances based on the below

Each pack has a different weighting when used to calculate the chance of pulling an arcane card in the ratio 1:3:6 so the current weighting of the pool is

With 4,536 items in the pool the chances are currently

• standard packs 1 in 2,260
• Alchemy packs 1 in 753
• Legendary packs 1 in 376.

The odds are changing all the time with every purchase and, soon, every item found, pack opened or burned for example if we sell every pack in the presale then the odds will be closer to 1 in 2,425 standard packs on the first day.

One thing that does concern me with this is that we could end up with a lot of arcane cards locked up in the SPS DAO if legendary packs don't sell well in the general sale.

It will soon be time to start opening packs and we can watch the number of "inserts" available shrink over the next few months!
