Phoenix Reborn - Casual Splinterlands Pl

I have just returned from vacation and wanted to catch up on where my casual account has got too, I maintained about an hour a days play, just this last week it was while laying on a sun bed instead of sat in front of the TV!

I made the decision to buy a spell book after about 7 days mainly related to the announcement of the staking requirements to earn reward draws from the next reward set (although I probably won’t enter the draws due to the DEC costs) and the ability to sell cards as I had picked up a gold foil I wanted to sell to reinvest in other cards.

The first really bad decision I’ve made with this account followed when I wasted the credits from the spell book purchase on buying foundation packs, the regret was immediate, should really have spent the credits on some modern Archons or even 3 starter packs would have been more beneficial.

The 5 free Conclave Arcana starter packs from the spell book purchase weren’t too bad and provided 4 of the six rare Archons so did give me a variety of modern options.

They Frontier mode play was a slow process until the end of last week and I struggled to get out of bronze then suddenly a good run of results saw a jump from Bronze II to Silver II.

I also managed to grind out a few wins in Modern and climbed into Bronze although reached a bit of a wall with the bots towards the end of this morning losing 5 games to this team…

Entered a couple of guild brawls with my guild, Pizza 3 : Hand Tossed, although I was too slow to grab the foundation fray and ended up in a bronze fray and a novice fray - missed out on valuable SPS by not buying my spell book before the first brawl.

Current thinking on the way forward with this account is to continue playing the daily quests on the frontier, grind a bit of modern to keep turning glint into common reward cards by buying card draws for a while as we prepare for the new reward set to arrive and keep competing in brawls to stack SPS and pick up some gladiator cards.

Not that this account is about money, it’s about fun and casual play, but building up the deck is the best way to have fun and push the deck to it’s limits so it’s good to see the value of the cards on the account and the tokens.
